The garden lady can be special at times. I had a sim call the garden club. Lady shows up and invites the rest. First thing she complains of trash in the yard. Whaaa? I look around and realize she's talking about the flamingo! Then one of the bushes became overgrown so she complained about that. Best part was that another sim in the house was cooking dinner and set the stove on fire and when the fire truck turned up the garden lady was like, 'oh, dear, there seems to be some trouble on your lot. We'll just come back another day.' Thanks for nothing, garden lady!

There's a wishing well in Sims 3 as well, which was an improvement on S2 one (I think it came with Lucky Palms) and you get a wider variety of wishes. With one of them, you can wish for a child and as I recall, what you get is a nasty little toe rag - or maybe it's temperament depends on certain conditions being met. I'm pretty sure Onlyabidoang did a video on it.

My wishing well in Sims 2 would drop four different amounts of money from $1000-$10 000 over the next couple of hours. Might have been a mod I had. I also could make greenhouses in Sims 3 without buying the store content one, using the Grass rug things from ITF and making all the walls have windows, bam, instant greenhouse.

In Sims 3 supernatural, you can grow plants indoors with special planter bowls (they're fairly hidden under decorations category, or you can find them in pre-made Supernatural collection)

I think they should bring back the way the Sims 3 camera thing worked. Like, in Sims 4 your camera is restricted to the district or neighbour hood you're in, whereas in Sims 3 you can move your camera to be anywhere in the world with little to no restrictions.

Ngl the festivals in 3 were always my favorite thing to do. In 4 they're more unique but I wouldn't go to all of them in the same playthrough, like not all my sims are gonna be into gaming or the mischief skill. But I would always make it a priority to go to the festivals in 3, there was something that was just so fun and relaxing for me, yet not dull. I think that's one of my main gripes with 4. It's either really hard or just....boring. No in between. A lot of random things that would happen in the Sims 3 just don't happen in 4

Patchy is definitely useful for gardening when I made a big farm in game, since he'd be watering the plants and taking care of them while my sim was busy. Also on Love Day at times you'll get a sim (usually with some romance bar) to call you up and wanting to go out on a date. Tested this a few times and they always do. Too bad they still don't pick up the tab.

I play 2-4 and I just love these comparison videos. Not only because it's neat to see the difference and get to vote for my personal iteration for different features, but because I am learning something new from them usually and i've been playing the sims for years lol. Love your videos! For instance, I've never known that Mrs. Crumplebottom comes out of the wishing well if you have bad luck with the romance wish, makes perfect sense though! She is one of my favorite NPCs in TS2. I used to harass her in the early days for kicks LOL.

People call Sims 2 overrated. I grew up with that game, so nostalgia might get in the way of that, but it doesn't stop me from loving Sims 3. Even the original is fun to come back to. Sims 4 just feels empty unless you pay more money for packs - and if you don't like/enjoy a game, what's the point of buying more for it?

A couple things missing: In Sims 4 it can also snow in spring and weather changes depending on the neighborhood with some neighborhoods leaning towards colder or warmer climates (ex: Mt Komorebi from Snowy Escape tends to be colder and you'll have a higher chance of snow in the spring and fall while Oasis Springs from base game is hotter and tends to not have snow at all (or very little if it does). Also mysterious weather is random and can happen any season afaik.

In The Sims 3, technically even though there weren't Greenhouses, you can still Garden indoors. Supernatural introduced Planter Boxes, which you can find in the Plants section of decor. This will allow you to plant Smaller plants in a controlled space. In Into The Future, Grassy rugs can be placed down practically anywhere in your house, allowing all sorts of plants from trees to bushes to vines inside the house. There are methods of preventing plant dormancy.

Yeah, but this was about seasons and as I said Gardening will have its own comparison, but I'm unsure when that will be since Sims 4 is still adding new elements, cottage living introduced larger vegetables so it's clear they're not done yet.

Gardening was first introduced in the Sims Unleashed where you need to by seeds at the old town and plant them on gardening beds placed in build/buy mode. If you have too many plants gophers like rabbits can destroy your garden. Future sims games never featured rabbits alongside gardening however in the sims 4 rabbits do make a return in the Cottage Living Expansion pack but gardening was introduced in the Sims 4 Base Game. Plants never go dormant in the Sims 1 due to no weather or seasons featured in the game.

I play sims 4 and grafting doesn't work for me. For example when I want to graft snapdragon and lily to make orchid the grafting goes well but the plant only produces snapdragon and lily. No orchid. And I also have the seasons pack
