Thousands of people have gathered in the Irish town of Bray to witness Sinead O'Connor's funeral cortege.
A round of applause greeted the procession as it paused outside the singer's home, and people later broke into a rendition of her 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U.
O'Connor died aged 56 after being found unresponsive in her London home a fortnight ago.

One of the points that needs to be emphasized again and again: The media coverage following her death have said that her musical output following her big early 90s hits was somehow lackluster or substandard, somehow in decline; that she's primarily known for her Prince cover. The Funeral process should have included her religious rights as she was a religious person who opted for Islam and Islam has a procedure. But none of the media releases seem to cover any of the religious process which I believe is because it relates to Islam. Had she remained a Christian , no doubt the media would have covered that.

No matter how she was buried, we all will end up in the same predicament on judgement day and so let's focus on our own efforts to rejoin her in the Akhira.
