If I've learned one thing from this, it's how to pronounce Tzan! Great of you to credit Deano's teaching video, which looks spot-on. No videos uploaded there for the last 11 years though. Maybe he'll start again now you've brought him to the front. One word of caution for anyone learning songs (or anything, for that matter) from the Internet, is that so much information out there is simply wrong.

Well said mate, yes forgot to mention that it’s extremely important to double check chords/tabs/tutorials with the original. Use your ears, listen very closely coz the devil is in the detail

@@CraftyMusicTips And learn to recognise different chord types (major, minor, diminished, half-diminished, slash chords etc). It's a bit of a party-piece of mine, identifying chord types while listening to the radio!

Interesting. Just for the heck of it a few years ago I was interested in learning how to play the bass. I had almost no musical experience. I knew about 5 or 6 cords on the guitar. Anyway I learned a lot of practice riffs using youtube and later a few simple songs like U2's With or Without You. Basically the same thing over and over as far as bass goes. So yes.....youtube is a great way to learn songs and how to do many other things like home repairs.

Thanks for explaining, it is really interesting. There are other songs like this. For example, Smashing Pumpkins - Today - it has two nice guitars as well. The Cure - A Forest, is probably one of my favorites. Also, Boys Don't Cry by the Cure as they did this a lot (another one of my favorites).

OK, here's one (Australian too), that fits the bill of having two guitar parts that work together: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqTQfYqCpM15hbs (The Easybeats, Friday On My Mind). I assume it's two guitars, although I recall trying to learn to play both together once, using a fingerstyle technique, and at about one quarter-speed!

I really dig your style and love y'alls work. Thanks for showing us how you prepare. Perhaps you can clear up 2 other matters for me. How come y'all have Australian accents but when you're playing a song, the accent vanishes and secondly, how are you able to concentrate with the beautiful Nikki and Akasha within an arms length of you? That must takes a lot of discipline and focus. Any expertise you can lend in these matters is appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

Howdy Texas Joe, I can only speak from personal experience being an Australian that sings, if it’s a cover song then I don’t think about accents, I think about how the original singer sang the consonants and vowels, and then do my best to replicate it. Sometimes I might add my own spin to it but for the most part I’ll do a similar rendition, same goes for instruments. The reason why I’m there in the room is for the music 🎵

Would looping help? Is the rhythmic part repetitive enough for thst to work? So loop part 2, and play part 1 live?

Good suggestion, wouldn't do that if it was a live band situation due to the logistical nature of keeping loops in time without a click, also the progression changes in each section of the song. But if it was a solo/duo then you could definitely loop one of the sections and play along with it when it reoccurs

Hey Crafty, great video. You really explained how you put the whole guitar section together for the video. I have seen several videos where you and Tzan play against each other to form a united guitar section. One of my favorite guitar sections that features 2 guitars playing against each other is the opening to "Sweet Jane" on the Lou Reed "Rock and Roll Animal" album.
