I don’t know why you moved to Japan and how long you will stay here, but since you are in Japan, why don't you experience Japanese artists while you are here. I also don't know what kind of music is your cup of tea, I just list my favorite bands although it's not your kind of music. Band Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Man with a Mission, SiM, Maximum the Hormone, and so on.

I think of this one less as a battle between them, and more as a jam session between friends, who all happen to be world-class musicians, all saying, "hey, this is cool, check this out!" The love between the members of the two bands is real - you should see the documentaries about this collab, put together by each band - it shows :)

The Ladies came up with it themselves. None of them really take orders from anyone else. They met a couple years ago at Aftershock, and they kept in touch. They did this pretty quickly, over a couple weeks when TW had a tour hiatus in Tokyo.

Both bands are big fans of each other. BTW - there's a behind the scenes video of this collab on The Warning's channel Was lucky enough to be at their joint concert in Tokyo where they live debuted this song. Me & GF flew 6,000 miles from oHio to Japan! We spent 10 days in Japan. We stayed 5 days in Kyoto & Tokyo each with day trips to Osaka & Himeji. Was an amazing concert & trip! Was an experience we both will cherish forever! Really hoping that they release an official live video of this from that concert too!

All there is to know about this collaboration becomes self-apparent when you watch the Vlog on the Warning’s channel about this. These are eight friends who respect each other’s work, and did their best to make it work together. They have talked about making it happen again, which is probably difficult given their hefty schedules, but it would certainly be a triumph of friendship and art over cold business.

As you noted, both singers are high! They decided to go an octave higher than both of them would normally be comfortable singing because they wanted more edge - and to have vocal tones that matched better. I believe it worked well.

As much as it seems on the surface a "combat" between the two bands, if you study the lyrics carefully and how they are sung to each other, it seems clear this is much more a duet than a duel. On the roof top, Dany and Saiki (I think it is) sing to each other "Scream out what you want, there's no point in hiding to fake it. You know who you are- let them know they'll have to take it. ..." It's like they're singing empowerment to each other. Some folks have noted a similarity in Misa's bass outro to Ale's outro in "Survive", and speculate it's paying homage to The Warning. To my ears, the two do sound similar.

In the beginning there was 2 bands, *BAND-MAID* from Japan and *The Warning* from Mexico, and in 2022 they was invited to play at the *Aftershock* Festival, there they met for the first time, and 2 years later a Collaboration was created. For a first collaboration I think it went pretty well. *The Warning* was schedule to open for *BAND-MAID* in Japan, and *The Warning* arrived two weeks before the show, I believe during that time they finalized the song. Then *The Warning* recorded the tracks for the song, and then with *BAND-MAID* recorded the music video, and rehears for the live show.

Actually they arrived having agreed on most of the music based on Kanami's demo in detail online. They had issues with the lyrics by miku but understood where she was coming from face to face. Then kanami recorded and produced the Warning on the first day and bandmaid on the second. Then the vocals on the third. Then she did the mix - she's incredibly organised. "Mincho's fingers where everywhere in this" Dani. These facts are all in interviews especially in the PRS Japan one. For the Mexican shows kanami said "I can't wait to hear what the Warning have written for us".

I was lucky enough to travel to Tokyo to see these two powerhouse bands performed together. Seeing them tigether, it was obvious there was no competing, no battles. They have obvious affection and admiration for each other. I've now seen both three times each, with three the Warning shiws scheduled for next year. Guadalajara, Cologne, and London.

Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played together (once and only to date) as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Roppongi, Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣 (FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of show-offs by two martial art fighters respecting each other. 😄) Note : Please check a video recently released in The Warning official channel that captures beautiful friendship with Band-Maid. It was filmed in Japan.

Wow, Band-Maid is fantastic. As a former recording engineer, you are losing out on some of the best music by not listening to and reacting to Band-Maid. More Band-Maid❤. After watching at least ten Band-Maid videos, especially their live ones. The complexity, lyrics, and speed of their songs are extraordinary. I have attended two TW concerts, but I need to attend Band-Maid concerts now; their energy, enthusiasm, and emotions are unbelievable. I discovered that Misa, Kanami, and Akane are some of Japan's best female rock musicians. They also had two concerts in Mexico. They began their first world tour concert in Mexico in 2016 and again in 2023. Try “Hate?”, “Don't You Tell Me” and “Endless Story” from the November 2023 33-song 3.5-hour concert at the Yokohama Arena, “Shambles,” “Influencer,” and the instrumental “From Now On.” one song I love is “Freezer,” how Saki and Miku go back and forth playing off each other and their harmonization is special. Or even better, “Real Existence” from their 2018 World Domination Tour at The Zepp in Tokyo. Fun note: Saki sang this song barefoot after losing her shoes while crowd surfing during the previous song. In addition, during crowd surfing, the crowd did not let Saki return to the stage in time to finish the song; Miku had to finish it. I believe that this was the first tour they did after Saki’s throat surgery in 2017.

Great reaction and analysis. From what I've read after they met at Aftershock in 2022 and talked about doing a collaboration, Kanami (B-M lead guitarist/composer) wrote a demo and send it to The Warning and that started a back and forth until they came to Japan and worked for two weeks on the song, video and live performance. Kanami said that she wrote it not in B--M style or The Warning style, but something different for both of them. But she did write it in a higher key to push both singers (she likes to challenge her band). Who came up with the idea.....I think it might have been The Warning. This song "IS" Band-Maid centric because Kanami (Band Maid's lead guitarist/ main songwriter) wrote it.... with The Warning in mind. This song does not really represent both bands individually, but it really is a great compromise. Even though this might seem a "simple" song...... both bands shine and from all reports everyone involved had a great time..... and it shows.

It works because they are working together not actually battling each other. No one was trying to out do the other. It was all about showcasing each others talents. The drums are extremely difficult because they have such different styles. They can't play at the same time or it would sound weird. I think they did a great job. Each band had to alter their style, soet of meeting half way. The lyrics soet of get lost, but have an important message. Is it a cult classic? No. It is a fun song featuring two all female. Bands with different styles.

Spock would be so proud right now... This isn't a battle, It's a Musical meld of greatness between The Warning + Bandmaid. The final bass riff was Misa, the Barefoot Assassin's homage to Ale, the Silent Assassin's ending riff on Survive. Nobody outdoes the other, but rather their beautiful skills are blended with so much class, tastiness, and joy. Mexi-Pan is born!! Just a side note... America just went to hell!! Moving to Mexi-Pan!!

Band-Maid have recently separated from their management, right after the launch of the album this song is on. I wonder if they watched from up close how the Warning’s set-up works, and drew conclusions. I think that with the prevailing management culture in Japan, these collaborations can be quite difficult. Babymetal did one with Electric Callboy. The video was produced by Electric Callboy in their usual style, which was the purpose. But it came out iron Babymetal’s channel, which seemed logical given that it has more followers. But what was really revealing, paradoxically (because “not to reveal” was the intention), was that the “behind the scenes” video by Electric Callboy took ages to be published, after having been announced in due course after publication of the “Ratatata” MV. You can blame it on the management that they sanitised anything that in their poor judgement could be detrimental to the Babymetal image. This, for a collaboration with a band that was chosen for their goofiness and self-deprecation…! The mind boggles. But here we are, cultural differences are real. And I think that the iron grip of Babymetal’s management shows they’re not keen either on working with women who kick out their management. In fact, I think from Band-Maid’s perspective it’s not what they are after, either. I just wish that Band-Maid find a way of connecting with the international audience better than before, I get the impression that’s where most of the still unused potential lies for them. I hope they find the best people to help them.

"Show Them" is a Band Maid song that they sent to The Warning prior to their Japan Tour. There's a great video on The Warnings YT channel showing them meeting, working on the arrangement, and just getting to know each other. There is another video with PRS interviewing Kanami and Dani, where Dani, she wants to Band Maid to come to Mexico to sing 1 song in Spanish!!! FYI Band Maid has performed in Mexico as early as 2016.
