Jonghyun is very vocal on his support for the lgbtq+ comm. In 2013, using his personal twitter acct, he reached out to a bisexual transgender student shawol and expressed his support. He even changed his twit pfp to a handwritten essay titled "Not Welcomed No Matter What We Are Called" about the harsh treatment toward the lgbtq+ comm in SK.

Hello Baby is literally what made me a Shawol, and that was common back around 2013 for new Shawols. I remember a lot of comments back in the day from new fans like 'well I watched a few mvs, saw a Hello Baby clip on the side bar, ended up watching the whole show, and now I'm a Shawol'. It's an important piece of SHINee history, definitely worth watching despite some of that 2010 cringe.

But we can all tell you that besides being a goofball, always dancing and cheering his SHINee members he was really sensitive and carried his feelings on his sleeve. You aren't wrong Jonghyun is music, he loved music if he wasn't with his activities as SHINee or his solo he was composing or writing or playing some instrument,or listening to music, he loved it. Jonghyun was also a cultured person, he loved reading when he had to fly anywhere he always had a book with him. He was really open minded and he loved to reflect about humankind. Jonghyun loved being an idol but didn't felt comfortable acting or participating on variety shows.

As a recommendation for programs to learn more about SHINee, I highly recommend One Fine Day, a program which each member chooses a place to travel and shows each one's personality. If you want to see the whole group's chaos, I recommend seeing Hello Baby and their first appearance on the Weekly Idol program (ep 41, 02/05/12). Jonghyun especially has been vocally supportive of LGBT matters, doing things like changing his profile picture to support a trans student. You're also absolutely right imo that he is a musician above everything. There are some really great videos where he shows steps of his composition and producing process that make it clear how much work he puts into his music and that writing credits on his songs aren't just for show. For getting to know them, Hello Baby is indeed cheesy, but also very fun. Keep in mind that they are very young there as it's just after Ring Ding Dong era I believe. Another really good show that they did is One Fine Day where they each go on vacation separately. There's less group interaction in that one, but it is nice to get a little slice of what each of them likes as they each plan their solo trips to do the things they enjoy.

You assumed correctly haha jjongs life was singing and feeling music. He always mentioned how he sang for hours on end everyday as a trainee to hone his skills and ranked second for weekly vocal evaluations (behind Taeyeon haha) and he continued to play with his voice and style after debut.

as someone who’s a huge, huge fan of jonghyun, your commentary was so touching and hilariously spot on. (speaking as one myself) jonghyun is 100% the music hipster type - was scouted while playing bass in a band he formed with friends in hs, continued making music as part of said band throughout his entire career, just super involved in shinee’s vocal directing, music composition, lyric writing, production, etc., paid out of pocket for half the budget of two of his albums with no promotion bc he was just so passionate about making music, was c o n s t a n t l y singing and playing around with his voice, holy fuck. there’s this one video that makes me laugh every time, of a recently-debuted shinee stuck in a car with jonghyun belting at the top of his lungs at a presumably god awful hour in the morning, and the rest of them sitting there looking like theyre about to bang their head against the nearest solid surface 💀

Minho is just wrecking you in this video 😂 Ah, I wish we could have gotten that acoustc SHINee album before 2017. Jonghyun IS music. Shinin', his last album, was originally entitles Jonghyun and yes, he was always singing. He was known for it when he was a trainee. As for SHINee content, thsre is so mucb of it I'm not sure what to recommend. Hello Baby is hilarious! SHINee on that music show with Doni and Coni - they were the first SM artists to appear on it. SHINee Vacation/One Fine Day is excellent, and SHINee's Back, which is from 2018. It's funny, sad, and joyful all at the sams time. Taemin's Xtra Cam, which follows him preparing for various stuff, Taemin's D Documentary, availl on yt, Jinki Jangpan, Key's Chongdam Keytchin, Minho's Best Choi's, and Jjongie has a couple of shows of which I can't remember the names!

I was waiting for your reaction on SHINee's birthday week!! \o/ You, Ja Diaz, RJ and Landon Mark are my favorite reactors when it comes to SHINee! ❤️✨ I believe you might like the episodes of the show “4 things” (Taemin and Jonghyun) where a lot of their personalities are told through testimonials from close friends and themselves. The end of Jonghyun's episode is very touching... On SHINee's official KZbin channel you can also find 6 episodes of the reality special in celebration of the group's 10th anniversary, it's called “SHINee is Back” and it shows a lot of their interactions! Omg, you talking about how you think Jonghyun is made me miss my music friends from school T.T. We were so into music, we'd spend all our free time in the music rooms making up 4 part harmonies to old songs or composing new songs or just jamming. ahhhh thank you for your wonderful reactions! I've loved discovering SHINee's music with you! (im also a babywol). I actually got into SHINee via their variety show appearances and live streams before I realised their music was also just banger after banger so I've got plenty of recs for variety show content! RECOMMENDATIONS: For group interviews/variety shows my favs are: - Weekly Idol episode 272 is iconic. Sherlock x2 speed dance is unreal. episode 359 is also great. - Knowing Bros episode 50 and then ep 268 (don't call me comeback) - Amazing Saturday (Nolto) is Key's weekly game show and is built around music dictations and other music related games. I've just started binging it and it's... yeah wow i love it. the whole cast is also genuinely incredible but Key owns this show. The SHINee episode (149) and more recently ONEW's Dice comeback episode (210) are 💯💯💯 but honestly, I've just had so much fun watching other older eps too. Favs (in no particular order) are: - ep 202 (the BEST Key dance episode) - any of the eps with Seventeen as guests (165 and 212 tho are must watch) - ep 162 with Nuest (costumes on point) - OK so the AmazSat (and other random) KZbin channels also have compilations of Key's girl group dances which I would absolutely recommend you check out too! they've gone pretty viral in the last 6 months lol [Dareumi on twitter has kindly subbed most of the old episodes if you're struggling to find links] I would wholehartedly recommend you check out their live stream vids (or compilations of their livestreams) cause they're so much fun. I have a whole ass playlist of all the shinee vids I've watched on KZbin too if you want links! have fun! Edit: I just forgot that SHINee Space released an hour long Deep Dive into shinee vid too for shinee month!!!! everyone check it out and support our fellow shawol's hard work!

Thank you for reacting to the compilation! I always love your genuine and thoughtful reaction for them. Now that you're exposed to the blessing that is Odd Eye and Evil live stages, please watch those stages, they were some of the legendary yet underrated stages of SHINee. Evil is my entrance to kpop world, that stage singlehandedly bring me not into stanning SHINee, but also acknowledge and listening more kpop songs due to how iconic that stage is. For variety show, I think I agree with some commenters here. Hello Baby is fun and cute, but it was done when they were still given "roles" by SM so if you wanted to know more of their personalities, I don't think that's a variety you want to react to/watch. Some of my recommendations are: Some that's already been recommended in other comments, 1. SHINee's skit on SNL Korea. SNL Korea is a scripted comedy skit, but it still managed to reflect on their real (off variety shows) personalities and relationship. But it has so much inside jokes that when I was a babywol I was confused what was funny--though it is hella funny when you already know some of them. 2. One Fine Day/Some Wonderful Days. It's a good variety to know their personalities more, but have less group interaction because they went on their own to a country they decide they wanted to go. 3. SHINee's Back on SHINee official channel. Their own variety show that showed their sweet personalities and relationships to e/o, but sadly this variety was done only with the four of them. Though it's showed their most recent relationships. And my personal favorite, 4. SHINee on Yang & Nam Show (Ep. 3). This is for me the best interview they had that really gave everyone time to shine and showed their cute relationships with each other. They had this segment where SHINee's members swapping personalities and it's really showed how they knew each other so well down to the most subtle gestures! Definitely look into SHINee and lgbtq content! Key has a trans ring he’s worn a lot of times (and very likely once dated a male model - search the saga of ‘keyseop’). Jjong was VERY hated by Korean right wing extremists for being outspoken and supportive of a bi trans student who was facing hardships. He even changed his twitter profile pic to that student’s letter.

I went to Manila to see Kibum the other day!! AND M STILL NOT OVER IT!!! 😭😭😭. I just got home yesterday eve (had to fly coz m from an entirely other island... we are an island country 😅) and my throat is a mess.. but my gosh.. twas all worth it! My seat was on the 2nd row, seated nearest the stage and I want to cry he was insane! And SO SO SO LIVE!! The entire crowd was partying even the nonshawols. I don’t know if this is iron clad but apparently he left a lot of stuff like melodies, potentials songs changes etc for Shinee. My heart ached when they did ICSYV and jazzed up Replay completely with scatting, jinki did well bridging them with the jazz singer. She was amazing and I could only imagine what the song could’ve been with Jjong there. Maybe we will get some of the Jjong stuff when shinee finally feels confident about sharing that. Can't believe this video is 35 minutes long. It went by so fast! You said so many right things without knowing each member too much that it surprises me. Yes, Jonghyun was a singer-songwriter first, then a human. And about lgbtq+ community, he was the first k-pop artist I remember that spoke openly about it. He was even tried for showing support on Twitter. Love when you technically analyze the voices but I would also like you to know their personalities (if you already love them as artists, you'll love them more as human beings) I recommend: ✔Hello baby (it's a MUST for Shawols) ✔Wonderful day (a vacation with SHINee, super fun) ✔I live alone 2021/2022 (with Key+Taemin and another one with Key+Minho. Best place to start your Shinee variety journey is definitely their season of Hello Baby. They were on the 2nd season (the first season being SNSD). Basically they just had the 5 of them take care of a toddler for a while and act as his parents. They would feed him, take care of him, put him to bed, etc. Honestly, when you’re watching that show, you get such a clear indication of what their personalities are based on how they interact with their kid. You can also watch their episodes on variety shows like Weekly Idol, Running Man, etc. personally my favorite is their appearance on Shinhwa broadcast (the 1st Gen Kpop group Shinhwa had their own show and invited Shinee over as their guests).

These videos were such a great choice, it was great to see you react to them! Jonghyun has vocalized and implied his support for the lgbt community a few times I believe, including one time following the backlash he and Taemin got from their performance of internet war ( I think you reacted to it before but I might be wrong). Also, I enjoyed seeing you go into vocal coach mode lol It would be cool to see you react to Hello Baby, I've only seen the first episode. SHINee also has two Knowing bros episodes, the first one they did includes all of them and the second is from DCM era. They also have SHINee Inc. which is DCM era too. Unfortunately, they don't have many variety shows that I know of. Edit: I forgot about Some Wonderful Day, it's a 10 episode show they did in 2013 where each member gets to travel to a country of their choice by themself ( + camera crew lmao) for a few days. It shows their personalities really well and it's pretty funny, though it was earlier on in their careers so it's a bit of an outdated representation of them lol

Shinee has been on weekly idol and knowing bros a few times, and have some pretty iconic moments that come from those. I’ve been a shawol from day 1 and watching other people fall in love with them just makes me even more proud of them (if that’s even possible). I’ve been missing them a lot recently and Taemin can’t come home soon enough, so thank you for bringing a smile to my face with this ❤

Pls i love when u go to vocal coach mood. Their voice are flawless but it still good to learn something new about their technique or mistakes they made or something. And SHINee doesn't have a lot of variety shows. But i can recommend to watch Hello Baby a show where baby SHINee taking care of another baby 😂, One Fine Day where they get to pick a destination to go on holiday + Minkey kdrama 🤭, and SHINee's Back ep 1-6 this was in 2018 for their 10th anniversary.
