Personally, I LOVE Mario Kart Tour. It’s very underrated and it’s changed quite a lot from what it used to be back in 2019. It’s gotten much better in terms of almost everything. I’ve been here for every single tour in the game, and have played it almost every single day since the release. Not even kidding lol! Also I wanted to give a little info on the GBA music. The GBA tracks ported from 7 are using the same music from that game. When it comes to the other GBA tracks like Peach Circuit, Boo Lake, etc, they uncompressed the original songs. The only GBA song however that DOES NOT have an uncompressed version is Lakeside Park. I have no idea why they left that one out for an uncompressed remix… If you ever need to learn more about MKT, I’m the guy for the facts lol!

Its a very mixed game. I personally love the game, but I totally understand people having issues with it's controls. However, those that shit on it because of what it used to be and that its a mobile game are just clowns.

It's a fun game, you just have to approach it in a different way to other games in the series. It's way more focused on scorechasing and stringing actions together to build combos. Honestly, works surprisingly well for Mario Kart, and helps add utility to smaller actions like collecting coins and boosting.

Yeah, the GBA Bowser's Castle tracks and Cheep Cheep Island are the only ones to not get a new remix. (Sadly. Imagine how hard Tour remixes of those would go.) GBA Bowser's Castle uses the 7 remix and Cheep Cheep Island uses the Wii remix.

Glad you enjoy Piranha Plant Pipeline's music almost as much as I do. When it inevitably shows up in Mario Kart 10 I'll be waiting to obliterate you on it in online play.

Man I really love Tour Sky Garden's remix of GBA's Sky Garden theme. I still think it was really odd to make a nitro with the same name instead of a remake, but I guess the developers were doing their own thing. Also, I will say I wish they kept the Ba's in the 8 version of LA Laps, it added a lot of personality. (The 8 version is still infinitely better tho)

Fun Fact: There’s a actually a number of data files in Tour that make it clear that there were many tracks that didn’t make it in Tour: Nitro: There’s one that’s probably just a test for PPC as assets of the Unagi’s are within the files called MobNU. There’s another Nitro that’s described as an enclosure of some kind called MobMU, it’s not clear what it could’ve been, but we can always guess. Retros: There’s a number of objects to suggest a number of other tracks originally planned for Tour, tracks includes GBA Cheese Land, Wii Grumble Volcano, 3DS’s Music Park, DK Jungle and the two Wuhu Tracks. There’s data that suggested that SNES Ghost Valley 3, N64 Banshee Boardwalk and Bowser’s Castle were planned as well, but they disappeared after a while, so we don’t really know what happened to those. There was data for one other Battle Mode map, Wii Block Plaza, but this never came to pass as they gave up on BM after it launched. So yeah, that’s just some stuff that I thought was neat to share.

Ayy, he's finally come around on the PPC theme! Monkey Island vibes all the way. Honestly I think I enjoy the track itself in Tour more too, bc the version that takes you out of the water to the island with the piranha plants starts on the island right before the big jump. Starting outside of the water and getting deeper into the ruins as the track goes on works SO much better than what we actually got in 8DX, and its a shame Switch players didn't get to experience it the same way us weirdos who played the track first in Tour did.

LA Laps' two versions are night and day compared to each other. The tour version is so awfully produced and mixed that it honest to goodness gives me a headache, and the only thing slightly entertaining about it are the vocals. Meanwhile The BCP cover is so punchy and fun, it hits in all the right places and all the right ways and is such an upgrade that it is unironically in my top 10 MK8 songs.

Pipeline was so robbed (I haven't actually played the track but I'd want it in for the remix alone). It's also funny that you mention Tour Berlin's more heavy focus on techno since I'm in a position where I prefer the Tour for first half and 8dx for the second half since both parts excel in what they respectively focus on. Tour always wins in the loop department, went way too hard at that specific point.

I..... kind of disagree on 8DX Vancouver being better than the original. I do think they're incredibly close to each other, but IMO the original Tour version's more 'chill' vibes adds slightly more to the track's atmosphere, and overall resonates with me more compared to 8DX's punchier-ness. (I also like the second verse(?)'s synth slightly more than the 8DX version's ewi). I don't think LA is that great in either version. The original isn't very pleasant to hear but I commend it for being...unique. The 8DX version is easier on the ears, but it sounds oddly generic now. Maybe I would have liked it more if they kept some of the Tour version's samples like the vocals. I dunno. You may want Pipeline for the song now, but I wonder what would you think of its gameplay lol. I played it during its debut tour and it's alright, but it's pretty much a lesser version of Piranha Plant Slide. (Which, to be fair, would still be better than both DC and Ice World LMAO)
