3.5 per km battery rental, outside(home) charging cost is 3 per km = total 6.5km. Leave diesel aside even my petrol car give me 16/km avg(min) for every liter on highway= ₹6 per km. Where is the cost saving MG? City cost is ₹5 per km (3.5 rental + 1.5 home charging cost) which do save us a little while petrol avg is 10per km in city but min 1500km is the roadblock for city only driving. And we can sell back car to mg only 😮

bhai 6.5 kmpl tumhare petrol ka overall city+highway, chalo optimistic hai par phir bhi maan lete hain, 4.3 meter gaadi with similar feature set to its base model kam se kam 15-16 ki zaroor padegi balki jyada hi padegi. so there you go upfront savings of 5-6 lacs at least. plus 15 saal mein kam se kam 1.5-2 lacs ki savings on maintenance. savings problem nahi hai wo to definitely hai bas problem range ki hai, battery agar rent par hi deni thi to badi de dete bhale hi 4.5-5 Rs./Kmpl le lete par claimed range 500-550+ Km. honi chahiye thi.

Good offered multi facilities that good but they should clear the battery price because one person use the car for life time up to 3,50,000km then only battery price will = 3,50,000 x 3.5/- = 12.25 lakhs and another person use that car up to 4,00,000 km then only battery price will be = 14lakhs. The battery price rate increases as per kilometer increase, so they should declaration the battery price rate.

The EV batteries cost is expected to come down significantly over the years . Will they pass the benefit and reduce the battery rental cost of Rs.3.5/Km? What for some reason they decide to increase the cost of battery rental from Rs.3.5/km to say something like Rs.5.5/km then what happens in that scenario or increase the minimum monthly KM from 1500 to say 2500 ? There are many unanswered questions here which needs to be cleared by MG.

Battery rental is not going to increase since the program is offered by third party financiers not MG itself. it is like a loan for the customer which includes the cost of battery + interest. Battery cost is not going to come down for the batteries already installed in the vehicle, for future models it will certainly be lower since financiers burden will decrease.

I bought MT Verna petrol in 2020 for 10.6 L and completed 34 K km . Running cost about 6 per km. Maintenance is really cheap. Maximum 10 K per 10000 km. Which means I spent around 34000×6 = 204000 worth petrol plus 40000 K Maintenance. Still cheaper than EV till now. Plus joy of a big sedan.
