lol YES finally!!! How about wave-dash, or freestyle, the ceiling shot, or a really detailed tutorial on proper rotations for 2 and 3s, maybe the best way to communicate with a teammate, and the last idea (comes from my man torment) a really good detailed tutorial on passing and the different types of passing. these are just some ideas that I think would be great for you because I love how you break down the skills into the fundamental parts which makes it manageable. :)

Michael Greeb Not lying! When RL first came out a lot of these things weren't explained. There was less hype around the game- things like online training, and even KZbin tutorials weren't as numerous or as good. The quality of support over the last two years has gone up, like a ton. I am stuck In gold/Plat, and while I could take it more seriously and rank higher I'm just not that good and it ruins the game for me. There things are basics but it's easy to miss them. For example, while I knew every tip, the last one (holding power slide to maintain supersonic) I did not know. Just a small thing, but something that has had me focusing a lot more on speed management and making me play better. Pros don't do well because they do crazy plays all the time. They do well because they have mastered the basics (this video) better than you have, and know when to use them and when not to. Not only that, but because they have these skills down (better than you ever will just sayin) they can THEN do crazy shit. Rookies spend their time doing crazy shit all the time and ignoring the basics, which is why they get stuck in Gold and Plat like me. ;)

A lot of this is not first day/new player stuff though. No one is aerialing/handbraking at all until much later. But as always a great tutorial anyway. I'd say: 1 Don't ball chase. Only one person needs to be going for the ball on your team. Know when to stay back or back out completely; you are helping by not doing anything. If someone on your team is even looking to go for it, don't. Let them. You diving in hitting it as well could ruin a shot or a pass they are setting up. 2. sounds daft buy never hit the ball in the direction of your goal. If that's your only option, leave it. Putting it directly across the pitch off a wall as a clearance tactic is also a way to set up your opponents for a shot. 3. Master the double jump in the days before people start aerialing everywhere. Remember you can delay the second jump to get more distance rather than using the double tap all the time purely for height. No one uses handbrakes and aerials when they start. They see the ball they think hitting it regardless of where it's going as them contributing. That all comes when you've mastered the basics and the game speed picks up. 4 Learn to wall hit, not aerials at this stage, just driving around the walls and hitting the ball down the other end. The quicker you do this the more games you will win earlier. Because other people won't. That's why I've never got any better, I'm still terrible at this. 5 When attacking, boost starve your opponents by collecting it all in their half. You will learn to boost manage and know when an opponent doesn't have any using that to your advantage. i.e. They can only defend for so long before they have no boost to aerial clear at which point you do to get a shot in. 6. Avoid driving backwards wherever possible. If you are press jump, then turn left or right to rotate the car 180 degrees (no air roll, just left/right on the analog), drop the car so you are now driving forward and continue boosting on like nothing happened. There are more complicated quicker methods but those come later. Create counters this way or get to clearance balls with no loss of speed. 7. When you jump, you then have about a second to do a barrel roll, forward roll etc. again when in the air. You can use this to add power or redirect a shot as you hit it. Using a quick double jump to immediately get height is fine but means you don't get this option when it comes to hitting the ball. 8. Bicycle kicks rarely work but they are a great way of killing all your speed. Standing in a corner in a group of four or more under a ball bouncing up and down doing with everyone doing kicks is common. Be patient, stand back, get boost and be ready to pounce. Its a matter of time until it pops up and none of them have boost or comes down the line at which you can convert it to a shot knowing they have no boost.

Hey Sir Timbers, I just wanted to stop by and say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I've watched countless RL videos on aerials and quick aerials and they all described it in too complicated of a sense (as you had described about jumping, holding tilt back and jumping again) and I could never wrap my head around it. Your description and quick tutorial helped beyond words! Now I can finally save those line-drive kickoff shots instead of them flying over my head! :D

This is two things I think are important. NEVER chase the ball, you will lose all your boost and annoy teammates. Just let back if you see your teammate closer to the ball. And you need to trust your team, if there is no trust everything will just fall apart.

True! I play online w a couple of buddies. And one guy is pretty good, but over zealous. No trust. I will be boosting into the air to block a shot, and he rams into me. And even if he blocks the ball it's not as clean and it bothers me. There are other examples too, but it's just what you're saying. Trust your teammates!

Oo Im early so here’s a joke. Its called the worldwide survey: A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was: "Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?" The survey was a huge failure. In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant. In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant. In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant. In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant. In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant. In South America they didn't know what "please" meant. And in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

@SolDizZo
@SolDizZo 6 жыл бұрын
If you get a teammate that you work with often, you can incorporate ball-chasing into your rotations, or put one person on "Ballchasing" which basically means: possession, 50/50's, passes and clears. Meanwhile, the other teammate can take up the role of Cherry-picker which means: defending, mid-fielding, freestyling, aerial shots and dribbling since ballchasers only do fast dribbles. If you want to outpace your opponents, or match up to enemies that are WAY ABOVE your skill level, you almost HAVE to ball-chase in a "fake it till you make it" suicide run. You're probably seeing someone ballchasing because the match before it was them vs a smurf and they told themselves "if only I was faster." Please, work WITH your teammates, rather than against them, and try to match their pace or even defend more. And don't worry. You'll never partner with my ballchasing when I have premade teammates.

@gamerkeks7997
@gamerkeks7997 4 жыл бұрын
why do people think that this is so important? I got about 900 hours of playing now and i only play on keyboard, and honestly i think it is logically easier to play on keyboard: Important to note that the standart keyboard controls suck _ss. I took all controls off the mouse, and use both, arrow keys with my right hand and WASD with my left hand. - Driving and steering + air-steering (yaw) is on the Arrow keys - Pitch and roll is on WASD - Boost is shift - PWR Slide is left Ctrl - Jump is space - V is ballcam toggle (and quick Replay skip) - look backwards is right ctrl The bigges thing here is that i can roll AND yaw at the same time, while that doesn't make a huge difference, having seperate buttons and sperate fingers to control pitch and roll clears things out quite a lot and makes ot quicker since you can roll without first having to push the button. That also applies for Driving forward and pitching: Usually driving by pressing W will result in the car pitching down when you make a jump, but since forwards an backwards is on ↑ and ↓ and Pitch on W and S, that wont happen. Both functions each have their own keys, just like roll does. Yaw shares the keys with steering (← and →) because it is baically the same thing but Yaw just doing it midair, extra buttons like Q and E for that would be messy and unnecessary. When playing with the controller comfortably, usually 6 fingers just sit there without doing anything. On the keyboard with my controls only 1 finger has no purpose, which is the pinkie finger on the right hand. LEFT HAND: pinkie finger controls Boost and PWR slide, you can comfortable press Shift AND Ctrl at the same time with the pinkie when needed (at least on my keyboard) Ringfinger, indexfinger and middlefinger are mainly used for aerial control of the car (pitch&roll) but also for the quick messages (1, 2, 3 and 4) Thumb controls jumping and Ballcam toggle. RIGHT HAND: Thumb controls backwards cam button Ringfinger, Indexfinger and middlefinger controll driving, steering and yaw.
@gamerkeks7997
@gamerkeks7997 4 жыл бұрын
the only possible benefits on switching to controller are that you have a free controller to move around unlike a keyboard sitting on a table (really not an issue at all, except when using RL as a party-game, but console is better for that anyways) and you can controll driving, steering, pitching, rolling and yaw due to having analog "buttons" for them unlike Keyboard only having on/off switches, however i do not see any situation where this is highly important to have and impossible to do with on/off keyboard switches. You may have to get used to it but by getring your timing right and things like tapping the switches you can basically do all important things for ingame just like with a controller, with maybe 0,001% less efficiency. Note: When i use a controller i usually find myself always using the analog buttons either at full 100% force or untouched at 0% force, however due to not having instantaneous 0% to 100% it is actually less effective then on/off switches. Maybe it is my controller or maybe i am just used to on/off switches which is why i do that, but honestly i do not see any reason to switch to controller, and i actually think with my keyboard setup, keyboard is actually more efficient and quicker then using a controller, but since that might be just me, i would recommend to go with the one you feel good and comfortable with and don't switch later on when you got used to and good with it.

Thank you so much for the "Turn off camera shake" tip. I looked up some pro players' camera settings but none of them included the preference on the camera shake. So i thought it's not important, but when i turned it off the game felt much smoother.

Perhaps some tips on the alternative modes? I always see people amazed and not knowing how to pull off ground pinching a puck in snow day or misusing the rumble power ups.

What should I do if my powerslide is square and I’m already used to it ( I’m diamond 3 ) and I wanna switch it to something like R1 or L1 but I’m afraid I can’t get used to it! What do you recommend?
@Cam-sp6lz
@Cam-sp6lz 6 жыл бұрын
Guess Who Am I ...just switch it I was over 1000 hrs in when I switched mine. It doesn't take as long as u may think to get used to it from once u actually play. I would recommend going into casual matches so u force urself to get used to the new controls. Personally I made myself play games and I got used to new controls in less than a week

Guess Who Am I Switch it. It will benefit you more and you will get used to it faster than you think. Probably 1-2 weeks if you play a few hours a day

Guess Who Am I switch it man it does not take long. I'm a fan of binding controls in all games I put my powrrslide and air roll to bumper and got used to it after a week. Do free play you will be fine
