@@sisselab I grew up in a military family so I did a lot of moving and travelling around the world (even lived in Seoul for a couple years as a kid) and I will always be a little salty that I had to eventually stay permanently in America. All countries have their good and bad parts, but it's so hard for me to see more pros than cons in America these days... Someday I hope to have enough money to be able to move abroad, or at least to spend a lot of my time travelling again.

@@annaday946 It was only a couple radical people if you compare it to the rest of the population tbh. They do not represent America as a whole. Bad things happen in every country and one's America isn't necessarily another person's America. This is a melting pot of different cultures and ideologies as we count with about 20 percent of the whole world's population. If those that can change the bad things leave, especially the ones that feed our industry, then we will go down. We can't always control those that are out of their mind. Dear Sissel, I rarely comment on YT, but I had too in this case. I am so, so sorry that happened to you! You are very brave for speaking out about this, and I am so impressed you have found a way forward, into a successful life and even a loving relationship. You are right in refusing to let one thing define your life, but this is often easier said than done. On a side note, and on a more general note, I have just read the entire comment section - also something I rarely do - and I’m quite shocked at the number of similar stories, and a bit amazed at the reactions. (I don’t mean that in a critical way at all!!!) I think I have read the word ‘crime’ about 3 times, at the most. I know sexual assault is extremely difficult to prove, I fully understand that what a ‘victim’ (horrid word, but there we are) least wants to do is go to the police and/or court. I also understand SK is not necessarily the most female friendly place on the planet, as well as so many other countries for that matter. There may be little point in seeking justice. But have we now come to a place where young(er) women don’t even talk about sexual assault as a crime? Just as something truly awful that can happen at any time, and that you then have to get over, if you can? Little as the police may be able or wanting to do, let’s at least call it by its name amongst ourselves: a heinous crime that is punishable by law (even if said law shows little interest in doing its job). As someone a bit older, I’m now wondering how many young women have just given up on justice of any kind in cases such as these. That is not OK, to say the least… Sissel, you are so right that it is important to speak out about these things. Again, you are very brave for doing so. Perhaps the word ‘crime’ could be added (again) to the conversation? Until we do, a certain group/type of men will not even see as such. But then again, this entire long and rambling comment may be out of place and/or unhelpful, for you or anyone else… If so, sorry for having taken up anyone’s time. Blessings to all and especially to you!

Sissel... hun I have no words. What you’ve gone through... I can’t even think about it without wanting to cry. No girl should have to go through that and I’m sad that’s the world we live in. You are /so/ brave for speaking up though and I hope it can help you with the healing process too! It’s not much but I’m sending you big virtual hugs! Please take care of yourself and keep talking. It helps. Love you lots! ♡

They wanted to take your passport!? That's what pimps or human traffickers do to keep their victims under control. Really questionable methods of doing business. No doubt that some idols are bound by such slave contracts. Really upsetting. :/ Edit: I should have waited with commenting until after watching the whole of your video. Sissel, I don't really know what's the right thing to say, but what I want you to know is that you are so strong and I admire you for that. Du bist wirklich unglaublich toll. Viele liebe Grüße aus Deutschland.

So, so very sorry that person ruined your trust. You are a wonderful person with a charming personality. It helps me also to let go of old harm by seeing your choice to forgive on your own choice in order to be free to live the you want and deserve. You have every right to make a truthful video that reflects your personal experiences. It sounds you've made the choice to gain knowledge and strength from this episode. I'm impressed by your choices and will also try to incorporate forgiveness to live my own life fully, so TY for that. All the best to you each day!

Hi there, I just wanted to embrace you with all my thankfulness for being honest and open about your experience in Korea. I can connect with a lot of what you lived through and felt on many levels. I actually felt a little bit like looking at myself in the mirror about 12 years ago, after my two years in Hanoi and being brought back from Oman in vegetable state after a car accident. So there is love for Asia. There is trauma. And then you start all over again when you have a family, questioning yourself, if you want and can go back to that adventurer/'what visa brings the next day' spirit when you have a child traveling with you. Korea is ambivalent and interesting in many ways. It reflects my two pasts. It has all what I find important, yet there is this pile of hesitation. Thanks to you, I see some things clearer and what you explained grounded my expectations. Thank you for sharing and all the super best for 2021 !!!

Thank you Sissel for opening up and telling us about your journey to Korea. It’s very interesting to learn about the steps you took. Also, thank you for your openness. It’s never easy to talk about certain experiences but if you do, there’s definitely a person out here that will learn from it. You’re so strong for standing above that. You’re amazing and I’m glad to see you so happy in the recent vlogs. All the best and love from Germany :)

Sissel, I'm so incredibly sorry for what happened to you. I think you are so incredibly strong and brave. And you're right those things don't define you. You are not a victim, you are a survivor. You fought the darkness and emerged in the light. You are now living your life, and doing such amazing things. And you will just continue in your success. Wishing you all the happiness, love and peace possible. Love you lots!

I’ve been through the same thing, like u thought u knew ur long time friends till they did something totally uncalled for. This guy friend of mine when he knew that I was planning to visit the city where they are, suddenly suggested for me to stay at his place and suggested doing sexual stuff. Yeah, I felt betrayed cause I have never done anything that will amount to him having those thoughts and I totally deleted our whole conversations cause I was in disbelief. From that incident I learned that sometimes people aren’t what they seem to be. Cheers to u Sissel for moving on from that unfortunate past and I hope that u’ll be blessed with happiness and good health for many years to come.

First off: Hugs from Oregon, USA. I've always believed that everything we experience {good & bad} shapes who we are. Your difficult experience has only made you stronger. Sure, no one should have to go through that, but you came out the other side. You are an amazing and strong woman. I look forward to seeing what's coming next for you.
