SIX DAYS OF CABIN PARADISE

This cabin is deep in the Labrador wild. It's hidden in the forest and nestled on a beautiful, secluded lake. I have spent a lot of time at this cabin. Mostly partying! Now that I'm a wee bit older, I spend more of my time with the fellas out in the woods, gathering trees and gorging on food. I love this cabin. I have made a ton of memories here over the years; I even held my bachelor party here.
This week's video is filled with food, fun, and fire. I am hanging out with some good buddies and we are taking in all the beauty this place has to offer.

...meanwhile, chevrons✔of returning Canada geese in the sky, robins nesting 🪺 & squirrels 🐿mating in the little fruit tree outside my window at my nursing home just north of Lake Ontario. The seasons pass waaaaay too fast when you're old 😅!! I really enjoyed this video-it shows us what shaped Jay, a true Canadian & a guy we love 🥰.

Caveman week was a great video. Getting away with great friends makes for a heck of a good time. I loved going to my dad's cabin alone and spend a month or more just being in touch with nature. There's nothing that compares to that experience. These types of videos give everyone a first hand glance to this activity if the opportunity is not available to them. Reminds me of my days near Flagstaff where I saw a lot of conifers growing close together. They called them "dog hairs". Really spells out the need to do some thinning to prevent forest fires from turning into fire bombs.

Honestly, I like ALL your videos, Jay. Your life is so different from mine that it's fascinating. I love watching you camp in your tent when it's -40 degrees F, knowing there's NO WAY in HELL my Southern blood could stand that! Watching you hang out with your buddies, catching up with each other, processing wood, cooking, throwing darts and generally being cavemen for a week was fun! Loved your videos in Labador. We got to see the country and how other people live. I always find that very interesting. We don’t get snow down here in Texas, or frozen lakes and rivers. It is amazing how much the Canadians love their winter time and enjoy it so much. I would love that too. Much better than the hellacious heat we get.

Jay, first time ever i see tamarack as fire wood. Tamarack and Hemlock resist rot as well as cedar. I used rough cut hemlock to rebuild our dock at our camp.

Interesting to see how much things changed when the generator ran out of gas. Some modern amenities are really nice to have, but it's great to see most of life reduced to the simple things like starting a fire or cooking lunch on a stick.
