This is why i think he's much better as a mc than yuta would have been. Yuta was blessed. Yes yuji was blessed by kenjaku's plan but i think it's more of a curse. He was always great as a human but then started at the bottom of the ladder in the sorcerer world and fundamentally grinded to learn all that he has with some great glowups. Yuji's growth through developing relationships with those around him rather than "shedding" wants/needs/connections like gojo did to geto after his awakening and sukuna's almost absolute solitude shows how the sorcerer world is fundamentally flawed which gojo/yuta/toji all showed previously through their ideology but not necessarily with their actions.

Its a very well rounded ct and honestly your imagination is the limit with how crazy you might go with it. Just look how Yuji just reattached his limb after it flown off. Its much more effective then regenerating an entire new leg. I honestly would say its better than curse manipulation bc of how you can adjust to almost any situation. You can set traps, homing arrows, use it as a cage, use it to boost your body, create new weapons…

People always downplay JJK characters by saying “They lose to domain expansion”. Domain expansion is actually super rare when you really think about it (disaster curses were an anomoly caused by Gojo’s existance, Sukuna and Kenjaku are from the past leaving, and Higaruma was created by Culling Games, even Gojo himself is an anomoly that’s debatable) leaving only 5-6 naturally occuring users in the world. Not having one is not bad at all.

It's still quite the big feat to have, only Kashimo doesn't have a DE but he's still top 10, cause of his HWB, which can't be destroyed unlike SD i think. Gege in the fanbook said that if Yuji ate the death wombs they would be converted into cursed energy. But I'm looking at the top tier sorcerers, the ones that would actually be in the conversation for strongest sorcerers. The point I wanted to make is that the entire Edo period are Base Kashimo victims, with the only possible exception being Ryu since he never met Kashimo. Hakari beat base Kashimo, Yuta beat Ryu, Maki is implied to be on the same level as them, Yuji is able to fight alongside them, etc etc. Kashimo being the strongest in the Edo period in BASE speaks more to how incompetent the top tier sorcerers of that era were in comparison to the top tier modern era sorcerers are, in my opinion.

If you say that Choso, Eso, and Kechizu's cursed objects were on par or somewhat below a finger bearer in terms of raw cursed energy, having eaten the other 6 Death Paintings who were Grade 1 objects and below, Yuji could at this point have cursed energy reserves comparable to Special Grade Curses. Add physical abilities only second to a few select sorcerers and Heavenly Restricted, speed to keep up with them, 2 renowned techniques, RCT at a reduced cost, Soul and Poison Resistance, Simple Domain with debuff effects, punches that do soul damage, unbelievable perseverance and pain tolerance, and hitting Black Flashes suspiciously often. Saying he's not in Special Grade Tier is sort of delusional at this point. He'd demolish any of the disaster curses and would bare minimum hold his own against strong reincarnated sorcerers.

Uhhh I interpreted the soul statement differently. Yuji expressed his concern the swapping the soul directly would change the shape of the body just like with mahito’s idle transfiguration. Then ui ui responds by saying he’s only swapping the contents of the soul (with the present analogy) and not the soul itself. So the box (aka the shape of the soul) effectively stays the same despite its contents being swapped. And thus gets around the body changing in response to the soul issue

17:30 the reason sukuna goes into his heian era state is because of the restrictions he had gotten from the binding vow used to kill gojo. The restrictions are him pointing a directions and folding his hands (and I’m pretty sure speaking the kanji if I remember correctly). This would definitely be a nerf to him in meguna form. But he basically planned the binding vow to make these restrictions the cost of his world slash with no hand signs or anything to kill gojo because heian era form, which has multiple arms and mouth, would bypass these restrictions.

Just want to mention that the way the narrative explains it; if one would normally use 100 CE points for some action, it would take a 1000 to heal (since its multiplicative rather than additive). That both explains why Gojo is so good at it (his initial numbers for any effect being so low) and why Hakari's domain makes him OP. Every other human character who actually has to regenerate limbs with only RCT (Gojo included) is immensely affected by doing so, besides Hakari; which wouldn't be such a special thing if it was an additve application of CE required to use RCT.

I think there's a bit of misconception about the effect of Yuji's soul punches: it was never stated nor implied that his attacks are dealing actual soul damage (unlike Maki's soul-splitting katana and Nobara's Resonance for instance), simply that they are dissociating the incarnated soul from their vessel's body hence diminishing CE/RCT output and physical control (thus reducing strength, speed, agility, dexterity). Mahito was a special case because his nature as a curse and his cursed technique are intertwined with his soul

10:43 Im sorry, but Chapter 258 *does NOT* confirm that Yuji only landed 7 Black Flashes in total. it merely states that, of all his Black Flashes, 7 "struck at the boundry between the souls" or however it was worded exactly. we can still count 8, as the drawings clearly illustrated that in the previous chapter. saying the Black Flash at 10:53 belongs to Sukuna when visually or via dialogue or narration, there is nothing to indcate that, is IMO a way bigger stretch than saying that Black Flash belongs to Yuji and the targeting of the soul boundary was merely inaccurate with that one hit. so that specific Black Flash still got Sukuna, but did not hit the soul barrier specifically, and thus would not count towards the Black Flashes in the opening page of 258 that would reduce Sukuna's output to make my point more clear, Yuji basically has 4 different types of punches of importance to this assertion: regular punch, soul striking punch, regular Black Flash, and soul striking Black Flash. Im arguing that he did in fact connect with 8 Black Flashes, but that only 7 of them were soul striking and the other was not

Chapter 257 itself confirms how that was Sukuna's Black Flash. Every Black Flash done in that chapter has sparks pointing to the place of impact, Yuji even has some sparks still pointing to him in the next panel. There's some other details that indicate that, like Sukuna's fist lining up to the impact in Yuji's arm, Yuji's defensive posture, and the fact he is sent flying right after this.

@Six Besides weakening the barrier for the reincarnated sorceres or for the barrier with sukuna and megumi when have yuji's punches ever been shown to be able to damage the soul besides lowering cursed output? Besides the lowering of hakari's output i do not think his soul would really receive damage that he'd need rct for. Also if he has infinite cursed energy would yuji lowering his output matter all that much?

If i count correctly, Yuju has actually landed about 15 black flashes in the series so far, not 10 7 against sukuna 4 against Hanami 3 against Mahito 1 against his half brothers (tag team black flash with Nobara)

First of all just because he got kusukabes training does not mean he obtained his level. Like they said in the flashback he technically got this training from sukuna already and while that has helped him its nowhere close to close to sukunas level from it. Until we get feats from it their is no reason to just assume its better than a basic 1. Also he did not outlast the domain sukuna just swaped to the fire arrow after his simple domain broke. This also required him to maintain the pose to do this which means in most practical scenarios it wont help in the 1v1 that much its just a stall tactic. At best it might buy him a clutch second to land an attack. While this will probally change very soon he is likely going to loose a fight against anyone pulling out a real domain besides like the small pox deity lol

He is close, but in certain matchups, even someone like Uro could beat him, just cause you're top 10 doesn't automatically make you win againts anyone below you. He's not touching Special Grades though, Geto would still beat him up, but Maki and Toji will have a harder time, and he still doesn't have a DE My list, idk i think 4-7 are close fights. 1. Gojo 2. Sukuna 3. Kenjaku 4. Yuki (interchangeable w/ top 4, it's just that she can make a tie, while he can't.) 5. Yuta 6. Yorozu 7. Kashimo 8. Geto 9. Maki/Toji 10. Hakari
