I made the oatmeal in my 8 qt pot since I'm new at this I followed her recipe and added chopped apples before starting. The oatmeal was cooked perfectly. It did somewhat stick to the bottom but you just mix it up and its fine. After cooking I added brown sugar and cinnamon which tasted great! Next time instead of water I will try replacing it with fat free milk. Thanks for posting this video and for all the comments below it helps for beginners like me!

I buy a 9 grain product from Honeyville. I place 1/2 cup of 9 grain in IP, add 1 3/4 cup of water. Set manual for 10 minutes. When it comes out, add whatever you want; maple syrup, honey, b sugar, milk, butter, fruit, etc. Great hot cereal, not flakes like oatmeal, but ground grains/seeds.

Ok, I am a teacher, with 3 kids, who needs quick and easy recipes using my IP...this Thanksgiving break I have gotten up early every morning and spent time binge watching and typing out all these recipes! This channel is the best! I don't know what the other 5 sisters have for videos, because I have just been watching the IP ones, but thank you for all this great information! I am getting the grocery list made today so I can make a bunch of freezer meals that will be even quicker at night. One quick question...how much time do you add when you start from frozen?

So i could not find the exact double pans your using, but they look the same. But the wire handle carrier doesn't close unless i take the bottom pan lid off, does that sound right? So i can use the bottom pan, then put the top pan on to of that with a lid on the very top, but it will now close with both lids on both pots? Or is it just defective? LOL Thank you for sharing i love your videos and learning so much.

I learned something from your video. You must try (google) the Instant pot Giant Pancake!! I changed the recipe to 2 cups complete pancake mix, 2 eggs and 1 can seltzer. No water/trivet and did rice setting twice, no pressure. It came out nice and brown on the bottom but needs flavoring like cinnamon, vanilla, etc.

Can you say what size your Insta pot is? I think I have the smaller one and not sure the multi-pot stackable steamer will fit in it. Also, since there are many sizes of InstaPots, sometimes "dump" recipes are a little to much for the smaller size pot. Will the cooking time matter for different sizes?

Just like the german pancakes, I think I saw her use the manual setting for 25 min cooking chicken in a different vid. I would think eggy German pancakes would cook much faster than chicken. Does it generally 25 min for something like this to cook? (I don’t have an Instant Pot yet.)

Since you have over 300 comments and this question has probably already been answered...and l have a fancier IP than you...l still would like to know if you usually do all your baking on low pressure and what other more custom settings like cake, steam, etc will work as well and if high pressure is used instead how much difference in the baking will it make...or can you just vary the time to make it come out right...also do you think that purchasing the IP air fryer top is a worthy investment and will it work fairly equal to standard air fryer only units !

Hello, and thank you for all your videos-I have learned to use my IP from viewing them. But, this oatmeal stumps me. As I usually do, I followed your instructions but got my first burn notice (first in a year of use) using the 1c to 2 1/2 c of water. Tried someone else’s recipe (1 c to 2c) but with plenty of apple, got the burn. I don’t like watery oats so I’m reluctant to try a 1 to 3 c ratio. And all of this done on low heat. So, my question is, how much does altitude affect recipes. I’m in Florida near the coast.

I went to a bed and breadfast for our anniversary one year and for breakfast the lady who owned it made an overnight oatmeal in the crockpot, it had apple pie filling in it, brown sugar and it was the best oatmeal I have ever ate in my life, I don't know any measurment but I did make something like it one time it tasted like it and my husband does not like oatmeal but he really like it. I wish I would have wrote down how I made it, but I was really good. If you can find a recipe and try making something like it, I think you would like it. The apple pie filling and brown sugar just really gave it a comforting home cooking taste, like grandma made it. Probably the best breakfast I have ever had in my life. If you try it hope you like it. It wasn't to sweet, which I think made it that much better.
