I have this really close friend. He was in a really abusive relationship. Came to me crying one day and showed me some texts, feeling like he was delusional and horrible. He was trying to talk out trust issues, and complimenting her between every line. It seemed reading like he was so nervous to say anything. Meanwhile, she was insulting him nonstop. Mocked his SA out of nowhere. Accused him of cheating for not unfollowing his ex on insta. Kept calling him toxic and manipulative. Then I saw he tried to message another of our friends asking for help. Because he said he felt she was being cruel, the person went off on him cuz "no woman ever deserves to be called cruel." No. If you're abusive, you are cruel. Mocking someone's SA is cruel. He had clearly been gaslit for months into thinking he couldn't communicate properly. It was a big eye opener to what our circle was and we both left the friend group. A couple weeks later we found out that they were exchanging his nudes, mocking his body, laughing at his deepest secrets, and her bragging about cheating multiple times... what this whole situation with Cole makes me think of is that situation. Most people don't think like those people I hope. But if you're a man in an emotionally abusive relationship and your friends are shaming you for being hurt or for trying your best- you can find friends who love and support you. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Side note: I got his permission to share.

The fact that Zenab still kept going after Cole when he started crying shows how awful she is imo. From my experience, when someone starts the cry a blare goes off in your head that's says: "hey maybe dial it back a bit," yet Zenab just ignores that and continues to flame Cole. What's worse was the whole "mean girl clique" forming during the discussion that was full of like 30 yr old women that acted like children. The who "getting a number from another girl" scene absolutely destroyed my respect for some of the people there, how the hell could no one amongst the clique be like "hey maybe we shouldnt blindly believe Zenab in a situation with no evidence?" How could they all just accept the story without restraint? And the whole "things go on behind the scenes" bit is literally the most cop out thing you could possibly say. It's such a spineless thing to say, you get to imply that you have evidence and that the person you're attacking is a lot more awful than they seem, whilst simultaneously being able to avoid confronting the matter head on since the person being attacked has no idea whatever vague things you may be referencing.

I'm not going to comment on the whole situation but the crying part. It's not equal for all people you meet. It's reasonable to understand while some people take a lot to cry and it's a sign of pain that your behavior is involved in, that's not across the board. There are experiences people have had with an individual or in their past where tears are used to manipulate. It's a real thing. Like throwing rocks and hiding your hands but behind tears. You can see people do really horrible things and when confronted they cry and while they can feel intimidated, scared, frustrated it doesn't mean they also don't expect the other person to stop. Like a distraction has been laid with an anticipated outcome. Then you can see the same person go on to continue very damaging and hurtful behavior although they cry when confronted. I'm not a person that sees most reactions or behaviors as intentional although patterns that exist take away intentions as a consolation. But, when we look at situations like they are one dimensional or onesize fits all, it's going to give lousy results. Now, again this isn't being said because of Cole and Zeinab but more so your initial conclusion because it's something people may feel as a knee jerk reaction. Just because someone cries doesn't mean the external situation needs to change. Cole definitely looks like he was down bad from seeing this elsewhere.

People don’t seem to be reticent about expressing their disapproval of male stuff. At the same time I am tired of the yassqueen-ification of the modern western woman. The constant gaslighting and passive aggressiveness. It’s just so sad. Watching how Zanab and everyone treated him made my blood boil, my blood is still freshly boiling right now. I do agree he made mistakes, his mistakes in my honest opinion are small potatoes compared to Zanab's. Her's were purposeful, full of vitriol, and malice. She meant the things she did and said. Her mistakes are actual mountains, not mole hills as some may try to say. She knew very well what she was doing and took joy in it. She makes my blood especially boil because I know how it feels to be "Cole", to make mistakes, not like his mistakes mind you, however nonetheless to make mistakes and feel genuinely bad about them. Cole may have a frat boy personality, he however realized his mistakes, the parts of him that were not the best, and genuinely tried to do better. He worked on his faults and failures. While Zanab figured she was good enough as is and didn't even bother trying. She thinks she can do no wrong. Okay, maybe she did try, maybe she did try to work on herself. I believe she could have actually tried to take a go at her faults and failures. Whatever is up with her is deep rooted, something that can't be fixed in a week or two. I really hope she realizes just how hurt and broken she is on the inside before she ever tries to date, I don't want another hurt Cole because of her deep seated issues and traumas. It doesn't matter what mistakes people do they don't deserve you dumping all your vitriol and trauma on someone who didn't even cause it in the first place. Even if they do, it's still not okay, nor is it an actually mentally healthy thing to do. You need to sort this out, you can do that even while dating someone, you definitely can. However if you are a type of person who can't date someone without damaging them badly in the process because of said deeply seated trauma, you shouldn't date anyone. Not until you figure out how to either deal or heal from your trauma. After you've get it manageable or dealt with, than maybe date. Because your potential partner doesn't deserve being blamed for Your baggage. Nobody deserves being trauma dumped on.

@Britt Maybe he's paying for the sins of every douchebag guy he's used to symbolize. Like a scapegoat or a totemic sacrifice. Perhaps animosity comes from previous interactions or relationships where potentially sociopathic behavior never gained redress. Guessing then when a genuinely flawed individual shows a willingness towards vulnerability and apologizes consequences are meted out. A strike at others untouchable. It's sad understanding relational trauma but leveraging a rare advantage against an authentic attempt at making amends furthers punishment more as target of opportunity less as truly warranted recompense. Hurt people hurting people. Not right but every action comes reaction, misplaced or not. Trauma is difficult. Triggers are difficult. Human psychology is complex. Doesn't have to be zero sum where a binary awards a winner takes all mentality. Can just be a sad reflection of the human condition where resilience and growth occurs. Judged by the fruit it's up to each individual post experience to reflect and path onward. Don't let others unworthy actions cause chains of connection to be held in hands uncaring and unaware. Easier said then done, of course, but letting go of spite frees space for better, more worthy opportunities. Said as much for myself as for others.

Her getting some help and bettering herself is a bonus, her not inflicting her trauma and issues on others who do not deserve it one bit is her duty as a fellow human being. No One Deserves To Be Trauma Dumped On!!! She has some personal issues that she needs to take accountability for and work on to better her mental health. The whole story she made up about Cole trying to kiss someone is either her trying to make herself feel better for going and seeing male S-trippers or because she has been hurt in that way before by someone she genuinely loved at one point. As long as we try and take a long good look at ourselves and realize that there are issues that needed work on and that work will be hard, not quick little fixes. As long as we realize that. I'm sure anyone can fix their issues, it may not be perfect, they may not fully go away, it will be a constant struggle, but boy is it worth it. It's worth knowing you're feeling better mentally, emotionally, and physically even if you don't 100% feel that way all the time. I'm so happy for both of you! I know exactly what you mean, my bf is the first person that I've been with that is actually sharing like that. I'm an over-sharer, so the imbalance when someone doesn't share confuses me completely. When he asked me out ~6.5 years ago, I told him that was a need. We had been friends for years so I knew it was something he wasn't the best at; he really wanted to show me he could get better and everything he shares feels like the best kind of compliment - when someone who doesn't trust in that way trusts you. He made the effort and the second I got overwhelmed from *him misplacing emotions, he sought out therapy. The therapy where the person actually wants to get better, it shows. *Just want to be clear how benign it was- He got upset with how down I was because I kept responding to everything negatively. He just was upset and asking why everyone is so negative and such - no name calling or anything, he was overwhelmed and it happens. But we had a great conversation on how we can both be more aware of that stuff sooner and he realized that I was pretty much the only person he could get advice from, which puts a lot on me. It's sad I feel the need to clarify that, but that kind of healthy response and wanting help before it got worse isn't something I'd ever had in a partner before. tldr; I hope you both have that kind of love where you're each that important to each other.

This is just confirming everything I was thinking when the show aired. I thought Cole was a douche at first but I definitely saw him make the effort to change and be a better person for the sake of their relationship and I could tell very early on that she had checked out if she had ever even been invested in the first place. The episode where they did the dance rehearsal I could tell she was setting him up. He seemed to genuinely care about getting married and she did not at all. So why string him along? She just wanted make a big production out of saying no and make it look like she was standing up for herself when really she was just making an ass of her self. It was so transparent what she was doing. I can see how Cole could have been too close to see it but she really gave no effort whatsoever. I was truly disgusted when she said no and gave that big bullshit speech and everyone clapped.

Having watched the whole season, I feel sure that the reason that Colleen’s feet were not held to the fire over the pool party comments, was because the producers must have noticed that Matt had demonstrated his tendency to fly off the handle, blame Colleen and overall be quite an intimidating and unpredictable person when angry. As a result I think they must have wanted to not “poke the bear”, so to speak in the interest of Colleen’s welfare. However, as a result Cole was an easy scapegoat in the situation, to protect Colleen. Even looking at Colleen’s body language in this it makes me feel really concerned for her well-being.

Seeing Cole cry like that was so heartbreaking and too familiar to my liking. My father broke down like that some years ago. After my mother announced to me and my father that she was filing for divorce, we didn’t talk out of denial of the reality. It broke my heart to see him cry like that when we finally talked. We both cried that day over the fact that we didn’t know why she was doing this and it hurt so bad. To put it into quick words, my mother is at fault and the feeling of betrayal is there. We’re strong together along with my little brother thankfully. I can only hope that Cole has the support system and can move on smoothly.

I don't comment much, but I'm female and have some strong-ass oppinions, so here you go! First, Leo, you are one the best commentators, particularly on men's issues, that I've seen on the internet. The active effort you make to account for your bias, lack of experiences, and understanding wherever possible. You are the hero we all need. From an empathetic perspective I found watching her gaslighting and lack of self-awareness extremely painful to watch. Psychologically, I'd say she likely believes the bulk of what she's saying about him. She's either consciously or subconsciously created a narrative that has been reheards enough to blue her reality. Seeing herself as flawed in any way it too hard for her. It's very sad. You absolutely hit the nail on the head, good friends will call out your bullshit. On the positive side of this, Cole against all odds has given us a fantastic role model for young men, on reality TV no less! Demonstrating taking accountability, commitment to personal development, empathy and also your right to feel and express your own emotions.

This boils my blood because as a Man thats been in this EXACT situation. Where my ex just literally wouldnt give an inch and I tried EVERYTHING even falling into heavy drug addiction due to being so on the verge of ending everything in my existence over a woman I couldnt sleep a single night without. I was so madly in love with as she just bullied me and never trusted me and treated me like absolute crap. I never even GAVE her a reason not to trust me, her own brain decided magical things happened while I was literally with an alibi every single time. School, Work, Taking care of my parents, and she just beat me down so badly. When the breakup happened EVERYONE turned on me because of her and gaslighted the hell out of me and SHE CHEATED on me. Not until after the NEXT TWO GUYS she cheated on did anyone give a crap and by that point I was already without friends and shunned away from people I cared about. It's 'crazy' in Coles words. That dude would have made ONE mistake in the relationship and 3 years from now would have still dealt with it on the regular because thats how those type of women are. They present themselves as innocent, harmless, angelic people, but they're actual demons. They suck the life out of you, destroy you from the inside out and stomp all over you. I was with that girl since highschool, we had a great relationship for the first year, but then something in her just snapped and if I even breathed the wrong way she would chastise me for it. It made me into a better stronger person today, but I will forever fear that I will end up with another woman that I fall in love with and she completely destroys my life a second time. Taking the little bit I have left and shattering it. People say its so easy to be a guy, this is one of those instances where you have no idea. When women are empowered so heavily and they start to believe that all men are evil, and villainous from fear due to social media tales, what can you do? I would have snapped on everyone in the room. One last thing how they say "WE know you went out afterwards, WE KNOW. We dont have proof but WE KNOW" My ex did it ALL THE TIME. I would take a picture in my room with a timestamp and she would still believe I was out doing lines of coke off a strippers cheeks. I would be in college and she'd be thinking I'm hiding in a closet screwing a classmate. Theres nothing you can do, they are so mentally unwell that you cant fight back against it. And its so frustrating and boiling to the point you just want to blow up because no one wants to hear you, but will believe in mental fairy tales that someone else imagines up. If you have such deep rooted insecurity that you cannot trust another person because of your own delusions. Please seek help, you're destroying people over your own issues. I know I'm guilty of things, I've probably gotten way too mad sometimes, or said some mean things but its only after being beaten down so hard by someone I was doing everything to give a better life to. Please, if you're that badly broken, you will break others. Trust me on this if nothing else

He even thought I messed around with his close friend and created a fake number acting like that friend and flirting, and I obviously thought it was the friend for real and told him to back off and that I am loyal. I am always told how he can not trust me no matter how much he tries and i am so tired of convincing him of my good intentions for a year now. I have gotten so suicidal because of all of this chaos he brings and I cant let him go either cuz I love him so much. Idk what to do honestly..

@@salehaxox7381 to be honest my ex was so crazy she actually believed I was cheating on her with my best friend because we used to joke around and touch each others thighs and raise our eyebrows being suggestive but it was always in good fun. His girlfriend also made jokes about us "being together" at the time but never once actually believed we were like that. A bit of a long winded paragraph but I want to say this from the heart to try and help you understand what I should have done, and what I felt at the time. Maybe you can find some comfort or reason in it, idk. You gotta let go. I know its fking outrageously hard, I know it hurts, I know you probably really truly care for him and would never even think of another person while with him. Sadly, people refuse to change, whatever he's dealing with is so much greater than you and like I said Hurt people, Hurt people. You may end up in a similar situation as I have where the "belief" of you being unloyal gets so massive they go out and cheat on you, or do far worse things to you (become physically/verbally abusive as one example) I say this with the experience and damage of losing years of my life dating and having a constant reminder of the past. I hate ultimatums but seriously probably for the best you sit, talk about it and tell them "Look, I love you to pieces, you have my heart, I would do anything for you and I've been so damn loyal but I just cant keep going through this. It's hurting my mental, and starting to make me go down a dark path. You need to work out what you're going through and trust me, or we need to separate because I cant keep going through the pain of a one sided fight. I'm giving you all I have, you need to give just a little bit back" A relationship isn't 50/50 its 100/100, right now you're between 50-100 and it sounds like he's probably around 10-30. It's just not gonna work. I'd hate to see a loyal woman be off broken because they tried too hard. I never asked to see my ex's phone, I never questioned things she did, I let her have her friends even though she fought like hell to get rid of mine, I always told her where I was, what I was doing, I've left college early to sit with the girl because she was locked out of her house for 45 minutes because she forgot her key. I gave her everything, she couldnt even give me the slightest bit of affection, let alone her trust that I had never broken. She went through my stuff all the time. She secretly watched me enter my phone code. She went through my private messages and texts with other people, seeing what I would say after an argument and chastising me for it, seeing secrets my friends told me and using them as leverage. In the end though, when I broke up with her after the dude that I also knew, and one day after the 10000th cheating accusation I said to her "You know, I'm actually concerned how much you're getting close to that guy, should I be worried about something myself?" and she got immediately defensive. The dudes BEST FRIEND ran to me and told me the truth, gave me every single detail and thats what inevitably broke us up for good. In the end she cried, begged, pleaded, to no avail then, went on endlessly smearing my name and turning everyone against me. But I knew deep down it was coming and it did really bad things to me, I should have listened to myself, my family, my friends, anyone, but I had more faith in a person that never gave me a drop of faith herself. I even gave her a final chance face to face to let me see her phone that day when I got that phone call with her close by. I said "Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, let me see your phone, like you always look at mine. Let me see the texts" she declined.

Being told.. to tone down who you are, your very being and soul and way of existing, just because you might be a little loud or laugh too much or too affectionate in public, it ruins you and makes you feel like... "what's wrong with ME? I'm just showing my joy and love and happiness, and that's.. too much?" It shut me down, I stopped asking to do things, stopped trying to explain things, defend myself; because no matter what I said or how I expressed my feelings or what was going on, it was "just an excuse because you don't want to spend time with me" or "you just can't see it from my side, you only care your feelings" after months of only asking about her feelings or consoling her through her things, but when my family disowned me and I lost everything and everyone in my life but her she just told me "you should talk to your friends about that, I don't do negative stuff" I was the one who was going to therapy 3 times a week, I was the one trying dozens of new meds to get my mental health under control; I was the one who would force myself to go anywhere and do anything, even to the point of throwing up and blacking out from pain; only to be told I "didn't want to spend time" when I had to lay in bed for weeks just for spending time

You can tell someone you love them a million times, and “feel” like you’re in love, but, if the word isnt reinforced with actions it’s meaningless and empty. We don’t love someone by telling them “I love you.” We love someone by showing, through actions, that we love them. It’s so frustrating seeing soooo many people unable and to grasp this concept.

Just wanna say I feel like a wedding isn't just for the bride but the husband also! We got married at a place called Canterbury Castle. My wonderful husband walked down the aisle dressed up as Dunban from a videogame called Xenoblade. Long hair, red vest, boots. I had a gorgeous ivory dress, with a veil so long it trailed. He looked so handsome, I was so nervous and shaking as I walked to him - not because I didn't want to marry him, I just was so anxious about the future (and very pregnant). But it all melted when he started crying at the alter, shaking as well. We were right back to being two teenagers, head over heels and excited for the future. We still watch our DVD of our wedding every anniversary, now with our sweet little boy. We've been together nearly 15 years, he is my everything and I sincerely hope Cole finds someone who cries and shakes down the aisle because she's looking forward to the future with him, whatever ups and downs it might bring. You too, Leo.

My ex was like Zanab. A horrible situation to be in, a request could turn into a string of accusations followed by a victim act in less than ten seconds.

I have a ton to say… but all im gonna say is, Zenab and my mom share the same traits, and i definitely emphasize and resonate very hard with how this affected Cole. He learned a lot. It makes me proud to see. I really believe this experience will help him grow and recognize more in the future.

Zae is one of the most infuriating people I've seen in a long time. She is cold and cruel. She has no remorse and the fact she sees the situation the way she does is the most frustrating thing. My fiance and I honestly almost had to just stop watching. I'm so glad they showed the cuties scene because it was validation for Cole. He's going to grow so much from this experience and become a better man for it eventually. I think when he finds his forever person he'll have the tools and emotional maturity to make it work. She put him down so much, I'm surprised he didn't just completely give up trying. I hope he sees how beneficial it will be for him to be with someone who's very playful, but also can go deep within themselves to have good conversation. Their personalities did not mesh and would never mesh. Zae on the other hand, and I say this with the best intentions possible, needs therapy because I don't know how she'll ever be happy with an attitude and mindset like that. I think she enjoys being miserable and wants others around her miserable as well.

I have to say how much it urks me when they go on the rant about him saying crazy, because ironically crazy is the exact right word to describe a person who tries to gaslight and suppress another's emotions in order to prop themselves up as though their emotions are more valuable.

thank you Leo for calling these women out, I'm a woman and I don't think their behavior is right or mature. Also yes yes yes men should be able to express themselves without bullying. yes Cole messed up a bit but he freaking tried. id die for a dude that was that willing to work on things and grow with me as a person.

47:14 Cole did his best he tried to keep the fire burning but zanab just blew it like because she's just so focused on victimizing herself that she's blind to the change Cole has made to himself to satisfy her sick desires just for her to kick him when he's at his lowest then coming back just to humiliate him even more then having her friends attack Cole is just so disgusting they shouldn't have invited her back for the reunion show at all
@sentientplant96582 жыл бұрын
my friend is similar to Zanab, but she lies by omission instead of making up serious accusations. she tried so hard to make her ex look bad to the point where he had to come to me and spent 3 DAYS explaining where everything went wrong. when she tried to come back to me about the issue, I gave her my 2 cents and all I can say is that people like this are gonna learn the hard way and their support systems may or may not be there when it finally happens. surrounding yourself with people who encourage your bad behavior and flying off the handle when one of your friends isn't like the rest of them is not any way to make yourself look better (you look psychotic when you do that). Cole deserves better and he WILL find better; hell, it may come to him and he won't have to go searching. and because all of this is on TV everyone now has a perfect "how NOT to treat Cole" video collection to learn from (more like "how not to treat a living human being" but point still there). Zanab is vile and it will come back to bite her in the ass no matter how long she keeps her comments disabled.

It’s literally that meme of “Well if it isn’t the consequences of my actions!” Either you grow some self awareness and change for the better, or get burned hard with only yourself to blame.

Cole is amazing, and I really wish that he could see all of the people who aren't completely evil, bc they will absolutely let him know that there's nothing wrong with HIM. SHE is the problem! So he shouldn't allow her to destroy him. You cannot give your feelings to a narcissist. You can't be human, and open yourself up, or give your heart to a narcissist, they will absolutely destroy you. Every. Damn. Time. Their feelings, their goals, and their loyalty will always be focused completely on themselves. They couldn't put you above their own selfish feelings if they could want to, but they don't even want to. That's exactly why they have no problem whatsoever with utterly devastating your mental well-being, and then making you take the blame for all of it.

What breaks me about the Cole Zaneb situation is that I used to be like her and I can assure you, if the woman doesn't look within to deal with whatever is rotting her soul then every single man who'll ever enter her life will be treated the same way. I cannot speak for her but that toxicity, for me, came from spite. I was hurt early on in my life and I started punishing my partners for the mistakes that someone else made. I abused someone very dear to me verbally and have worked for years trying to make up for it and I thank the universe every single day that my person had enough grace to forgive me for it. Point is, go to a therapist.

My ex actually tried to control my eating. He forced me to try diets, he would berate and put me down for not eating "the right things", he'd even get on my case for eating big salads. He made me feel bad every day about what I ate. Cole is not trying to control her eating here.

I appreciate your videos and your personality is so refreshing! Sometimes it’s just background noise while I do housework, but your videos feel like a friend coming over with some recent crazy stuff, or reality shows that I’d never been remotely interested in… but through your point of view they are actually interesting and honestly a little self-reflective and I appreciate what your channel is, if nothing more than a calm place to self-reflect by viewing other people.

Her ego really shows in this episode. The fact that she kept saying "i forgive you" when it wasn't even his fault completely just makes her look more like a clown than a grown mature person
