Their opinions are formed by hearsay from Zanab who, by nature is narcissistic and abusive, meaning she will give them a perception of him that is not true, and people like her are good at making people believe their delusions.. But, this is all recorded for TV so they can't successfully gaslight and manipulate the audience because we have the "rewind" button. IRL, most people in relationships with these kind of people aren't so lucky to have millions of people aware of what goes on behind closed doors and many of those people end up being made the "bad guy" by their abuser because no one can tell them they're lying and they already made you out to be a liar so no one believes you when you try and explain your side. They assume you're dragging their name through dirt, and if you say nice things they assume you were the problem.. You can't win against narcissistic abuse.. You just can't.. You can only walk away from it and hope it doesn't follow you.

I couldn’t tell you for sure because I’m not married, but I think the idea isn’t that you’re constantly going to have to fight for love, but rather that when the hard times come, even though it’s much easier to give up on it, you have to fight for that love
@Merrowsteel Жыл бұрын
@@ieatwildtigers this is my interpretation of it too! My husband and I will be married 4 years this year, and I know that’s not that long but let me tell you, that first year was HARD. And it wasn’t because of our relationship. I quit teaching, he lost his job, it was in the middle of the pandemic, I had just had a surgery and couldn’t walk/drive, we were surviving on one salary until I could find another job, and not to mention we were both fighting our own personal demons. But because we loved eachother so much we chose to stick together through the “hard”, and when we finally got to the end of the tunnel we were so much stronger for it. There were times where it would have been easier for us to go our separate ways but we had to fight for our relationship. And it was easy to choose to fight because we did love each other. Anyway, I don’t know if any of that made sense, but the bottom line is, any relationship is going to have it’s hard parts (even if the hard parts aren’t that hard). Fights, annoying habits, disappointment, etc. But because you love someone, you’re willing to deal with that, communicate, make compromises, and stay together.

I'm still convinced Zanab wanted a Deepti moment... I vaguely remember her mentioning something about Deeps wedding being right before hers during the reunion. Am I remembering correctly?
@orrandclan Жыл бұрын
I agree, that's what I thought, too. She saw how Deppti got sympathy as an actual victim of a bad match who stood up for herself in the end. Z wanted to match that "arc"; hence some of the trouble with these shows. It seems after the first season airs, subsequent seasons attract people who build their tv persona into what they WANT to be perceived as. It totally backfired because she wasn't a real victim of anything except her own ego and Cole putting his foot in his mouth (let us not forget that was the "honesty" she claimed to value so much in the beginning). Ironically, she ended up giving Cole an actual victim arc (and possible life long trauma). The public sees her 100% for who she is. She's a perpetual victim, possibly a strong narc, egotistical, unable to admit to any flaws, and definitely has a lot of work to do to be a good partner one day. Cole grew and matured through the process. In my opinion with over 2 decades of a happy marriage myself to analyze what works and doesn't first hand, I think he'll appreciate love when he finds it and he has grown enough to make it work. He also seems willing to do the work to change when needed, admit fault (even though he was basically gaslit into feeling at fault), and seemingly overall positive about life...and those skills are priceless in a healthy relationship. No real Christian (decent person in general) would pray at the alter before ripping someone's self esteem to shreds in front of friends and family. I think that move sealed all my thoughts about her. Trash move... girl needs to pray for an attitude adjustment and forgiveness. Thanks Leo for wading through the sewage of awful people for us, lol!

I just wanted to say thank you for always making sure that your captions are on, even when they are just the auto captions. I'm having so much trouble with creators and the captions. I guess KZbin changed the way that the captions are turned on or something, because many of my favorite creators no longer have captions, and I'll request them and come back two or three days later and they might have them up then or they might still not be available. Years of always been available as soon as your videos drop, and I appreciate that as a Deaf fan.

Cole did absolutely nothing to deserve this kind of toxic behavior. Sure, he made some mistakes, but this? They're acting like he's an abuser. Solely because Zanab says so, despite the publicly available evidence showing this to be a blatant lie. Really sad to see even the other men being manipulated into toxicity because they don't want to deal with the backlash from the girlsquad. If ANYONE is manipulating your friend group solely because they "don't like them" and forcing you to adhere to their will solely because they "don't like them", leave. That's not how you treat a partner; that's how you treat property.

Mean girl cliques are such an obvious red flag that nobody actually tries to hide. It's so exhausting, but so is every toxic trait. I've never believed in jumping into relationships, and catching onto who a person is when they're around other people is the exact reason why; seeing how someone interacts with people outside of their clique is important too, I made the mistake of getting close to someone who ended up being an entirely different person depending on who they were around and how many people were around. Honestly, after some of the shit people have put me through, I don't even know if I can get close to someone at a platonic level, people are just so utterly unreliable and will absolutely turn on you for no reason; I had an overly jealous ex abuse me over _thoughts_ she had that had no logical basis in reality, she even isolated me from everyone for a significant period of time yet still continued acting on the bullshit in her head, I lost a close friend after knowing them for years because they got on some mean girl shit over the fact that we met by me casually approaching them when they believed I had further intent when I absolutely didn't and they _knew_ I didn't if they just took a second to not be toxic considering I never acted on intents I never had. I used to be the golden retriever type of guy but now I'm just so jaded because of toxic people, because I've learned that people can't be trusted to not be toxic, that people absolutely will not learn to be a better person, and it's even worse when these people are also fake as shit to the point that they don't even know who they are. I've learned that as an average guy nobody is there for you, because you're replaceable, you don't matter the moment someone finds something better. People are shit, and that's something that will never change.

It's not just guys my friend. I met a woman a few years ago and discovered we shared MANY mutual friends. So many I was actually surprised we hadn't met sooner. We became very close friends, VERY quickly (which I later realized was her intention from the beginning) and before long I trusted and confided in her. Unfortunately she turned out to be the most malignant narcissist I've ever encountered. She lied to all of my friends, claiming I'd said things about them I'd never said. She and her husband (who was actually a really nice guy) befriended my boyfriend, then she started making plans for the 3 of them to hang out when she knew I be there because I had to work. Then I found out she was texting my boyfriend, saying I was talking shit about him behind his back and telling everyone I was going to dump him. Ultimately I ended up losing 90% of my so called "friends" (which was actually a blessing in disguise) and would have lost my boyfriend as well if we hadn't finally read each other's texts and caught on to her scheme. Come to find out, she's done this kind of thing many times before and since. What's really crazy is that everyone knows about it yet they're all STILL FRIENDS WITH HER!! And I truly believe it's because people are so afraid of her they don't want to cross her and risk being her enemy. So yeah, you're absolutely right. Most people are shit and even the ones who wouldn't actually shove the knife in your back are usually too chickenshit to stand up to the ones who will. That's why I went from being a social butterfly who loved everybody to a hermit with like 2 friends.

Who would have thought Cole would be the emotionally mature one. I think the whole incident with Colleen sent her spiraling. I think she has major insecurities and past trauma that needs healing. She was in no way ready for a big commitment like marriage. It seems like she just like the idea of being in a committed relationship to fill a void in her life. I kind of feel sorry for her though. No way am I defending her actions towards Cole, but sometimes when we're triggered we act in certain ways. We've all got our shit and nobody's perfect. I just hope she gets therapy and sorts herself out before her next relationship.

When I heard you start to talk about your own experience, it was very therapeutic for me, because I recently went through something with a friend who broke my heart and hurt me more than I’ve been hurt in a really long time. This person also messed with me and I was too blind to see what they were doing all along, because I genuinely thought they were a really good person and they cared about me. I went back to them a couple of times to try to get some closure and they wouldn’t even admit to doing anything wrong at all. You really helped me by sharing a little part of your story and I realized I don’t need to get any closure from that person, I can find it myself. Thanks, Leo! 🙏

I really wish Cole wouldn’t have went over to her. That’s what she was wanting and expecting. She just wants to keep twisting the knife every chance she gets. And she knows he didn’t fat shame her when she was eating an orange. She just made that up to try to make him look bad after everyone started calling her out for what she did to him the entire show. That’s just my opinion though. He made one mistake in the very beginning of the show and zanab and her friends act like he murdered someone. I don’t think she’ll ever change. She really didn’t deserve another apology from Cole. I wish Cole would stand up for himself when it comes to her. She’s very abusive. I couldn’t be friends with someone like her. I hope Cole is able to find real love and live a really happy and healthy life with that person.

I can sympathize with how Cole chooses not to be confrontational with Zanab and Brenan. You kind of know if the person in front of me can be reasoned with (or willing to listen to me) after a few exchange. How Zanab closes the conversation with “you are a bad guy” and Cole simply responds “ok” shows how genuine this guy is. Zanab sensed that she can walk all over him because he would let her, and she’s having a power trip which is only reinforced by her mean girl friends.

I don't understand how grown people can waste so much energy hating someone else when the conflict could easily be resolved by saying how you feel. While finding the words can be hard it can't be as hard as looking back and regretting how you spent so much time. It can't be worth as much pain as it causes. They're grown people in grown relationships but act like they have no idea what's at stake or how to be an actual person. Like teenagers or young adults with no life experiences that have shaped them. They act like any argument or comment made without thought is meant to be hurtful. If you are in it for the long haul disagreements are gonna happen. It's how you handle them, not them happening that makes the relationship.

Most people need their penultimate relationship where they learn the other person has needs and feelings that are equally as important as theirs but the connection ultimately fails.
