Hi, front pew crew and Father Mike! I'm listening to this online Mass WHILE walking to Mass in person! First time in 6 weeks since I started my temporary shuttle job. I'm taking my CDL exams on Tuesday and Wednesday and looking for apartments as well as applying for HUD housing. Prayers for me and my family and Prayers, prayers, and more prayers for my friends and co-workers at both my part-time jobs. In Jesus' Name. Amen. Thank you for this Mass. Hopefully a blessed Lent for all.

Prayers for the person with the brain and spinal disease. May you overcome this and get back to health. I gave a birthday card today to a 93 year old woman in my retirement home. I felt good about it, thought God would like it, but I missed out on giving the moment to God. Now I know in the future how to make something loving or thoughtful really special. Thank you, Father, for this teaching, I will take it to heart.

Loved the insightful stories and the message. C. S. Lewis is right about daughters growing up fast. The experience of Jeff Cavins (the author of the Great Adventure Bible- Highly recommended) is also remarkable. St Francis De Sales' formula of Ask, Offer, and Receive is a great way to always seek God. Indeed, we must make any moment a holy moment by dedicating it to God. We must surrender our lives to God and trust Him while doing everything that we do while abiding by His commandments. Thank you so much, Fr. Mike, the Front Pew Crew and Team Ascension. God bless you all and the fellow listeners.

@@meihui7767 Oh yes! Ha, good catch! The Bible itself is not written by any present day human. On the back cover of the Great Adventure Bible (on Amazon), the contributors are named as Jeff Cavins, Mary Healy, Andrew Swafford, and Peter Williamson). The timeline by Jeff Cavins is indeed an important instrument to help people to keep reading the Bible and not get bored or distracted because it binds different books of the Bible to different themes which makes it a grand adventure-like story

Not every moment is God's will for our lives. But, He can take every moment that wasn't His Will for us and use it for our good. Free Will = allowing us to choose or to not to choose His Will for us. Too, there are ppl in this world who force their will onto us/others...that also is not God's will for us. I get what you were diggin' at though and that was a nice message, not accurate, but very nice none the less. We have to seek to follow His will in all things, all the time, if we want to follow it.
@meihui7767
@meihui7767 7 ай бұрын
I think Fr. Mike lumped together God’s perfect will and God’s permissive will (this one takes consideration of our free will)
@ameliaolson7580
@ameliaolson7580 7 ай бұрын
@@meihui7767 Free will is ours, permissive will is God's. However, as a parent, in general terms, there are some who are permissive and give their child into the sex trade and/or allow their children to be abused while other parents are not permissive in these things. Which is a better parent? In my judgement, I would have to say, it's the parent that is not permissive in their will for such things to occur. Yet, even though they do not give their children over to such things, sometimes their children fall into these types of rhelms due to the choices of others who exert their will in a manner callus to care or good regard. God's arms and hands in this world are those who listen to Him. Who help to pull children out of those rhelms, who teach their children to not force their will onto others, etc. To be permissive means that everyone has the ability to act according to their will. It does not mean all acts are God's will. It does not mean all acts are within the domain of civil obedience. And, it surely does not mean that all acts are within spiritual obedience.

The Sin of the Mind leads to death: Hebrews 10:26 speaks of willful sin, which is sin that a person knowingly does against God. Deliberate sin is intentional; it is planned and purposeful in the mind. As time goes by, people continue a cycle of daily sin and repentance, not realizing they are nothing but pure *liars in God's eyes,* and will not enter God's kingdom. The only sin that a true believer commits is unintentional and not premeditated, with the absence of malice or ill-will. With God’s power, we are able to serve Him with our hearts and minds and shun sin; however, with our flesh we are subject to the laws of sin, for in many things we offend all (James 3:2) and no one is without unintentional sin (1 John 1:8). True believers will no longer intentionally, deliberately, or premeditatively sin, but we will find ourselves sinning inadvertently or unwittingly. So then, with the mind we serve God, but with the flesh the law of sin (Romans 7:25).
