Mbeki’s problems started when he was selected to attend the Geneva youth summit because he was already in Europe. This didn’t seat well with the likes of Hani who was in the MK camps in Lusaka and there was belief that children of senior politicians were treated better than ordinary exiles. Zuma knew that for all these years Thabo Mbeki was protected by OR Tambo hence Hani contested Mbeki in the first ANC conference inside South Africa 🇿🇦 in Durban 1991. Walter Sisulu was persuaded to accept the deputy presidency in order to avert an acrimonious contest for the position among a younger generation of leaders particularly between Thabo Mbeki, Tambo's protégé, and Chris Hani, a SACP and MK leader. Hani died in 1993, Mbeki got rid of Holomisa in 1995 who was very close to Madiba and a rising star with the ANC but didn’t understand ANC’s internal politics. Mbeki made it worse when he appointed his loyalists in BBEEE deals comrades like Saki Macozoma, Phalo Jordan, Phahad brothers, Moleketis, Trevor Manuel Smuts Ngonyamas and others.. and sidelined mostly his MK rivalries. This is the group that regrouped with Zuma and toppled Mbeki in Polokwane…

Thank you Doc. It would be lovely to have another episode about the relationship between Uncle Ranko (Cyril Ramaphosa) and Thabo Mbeki, particularly considering the recent tensions between them. Over the past two years, Thabo Mbeki has been critical of Ramaphosa's leadership, even going so far as to label him and others as "thieves." Despite Mbeki's vocal criticisms, Ramaphosa seems to maintain a more restrained approach, perhaps opting to avoid direct confrontation with Mbeki and refraining from engaging in the strong views expressed against him. These dynmics I, are significant, especially given the history between the two men. Notably, Ramaphosa has been mentioned twice in your story: once when he replaced Mbeki, and another time when Mbeki was selected instead of him to be president. These instances suggest a complex dynamic between the two leaders, characterized by a deep-seated rivalry.

Go watch the videos and analyze them yourself; that's what I gathered from watching and analyzing the videos. Secondly, it is crucial to note that most often when we speak, we speak from a social constructionism realm, meaning that we take knowledge and make sense of it within the context of social interactions and shared understandings. Then, I stated 'this suggests,' acknowledging the possibility that this might not be the fact, rather, solely my own interpretation of the sdynamics between the two individuals. Thank you

@@kwezilomsosonkwala4933You are correct there is a deep seated rivalry between Mbeki and Ramaphosa. In fact Mbeki and Zuma can co-exist but when you bring Ramaphosa into the mix Mbeki and Zuma can stand together. Mbeki had work well with Oliver Tambo. He had a difficult relationship with Chriss Hanni. Chriss Hanni together with Joe Slovo were for an military take over of the South African State and not a negotiated settlement. Chriss Hanni was a communist who advocated for the full distribution of land to the black majority and complete nationalisation of the mineral resources of South Africa, anything less than that was a deal break for Him. He was very popular within the movement. was only second to Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela in Popularity.

Tell me one school in town here South Africa 🇿🇦 that is using vernacular to study all subjects until matric. The worse thing is the yards we have in township are so small you can’t even extend RDP house to build a house of your dreams with swimming pools. I have seen developers building tiny houses for about R600k in a land area of 262 metre squares and that is a total ripoff. Most houses in towns you will find that the yards starts from 800 metre squares. Apartheid is not over yet in South Africa 🇿🇦 because you can’t go to town find school that teaches African language as second language but you mostly find schools teaching in English and Afrikaans or English or Afrikaans as second language like during apartheid and we say apartheid is over in South Africa 🇿🇦. The question still remains. Their reasons to join ANC. From a distance it is obvious that Zuma joined the ANC for personal reasons. While looking after his father's cattles, he started to plot against his brothers. Who will be the head of Zumas clan after his father pass away? That's where Zuma decided to join ANC so he could be chief as it was not in his mother's side to be chief. This became obvious when his friend Shabbir be found guilty. By Mbeki choice Zuma became deputy president. Mbekis ambition of continuing to control the ANC thought Zuma was easy target. Mbeki didn't want to have a much educated deputy as you indicated that Mbeki once disappointed that Ramaphosa took chief negotiator position that he earmarked. That's why the two of them hate Ramaphosa with passion. But one thing they both forget is that their hatred of Ramaphosa is killing the ANC. That's how stupid they acting. As for Zuma with the support of Malema, Blade, gwede, Vavi, Jim, your uncle and others thought it was good to have a corrupt president like Zuma. What both of you didn't realise was that Zuma will be greedy in such a way he will not tolerate any competitors like Malema in stealing public funds. As Zuma became president he realise that he had achieved more than he thought, to be the Joseph of the Zuma clan where his brothers will bow to his command. He can now be a modern Shaka Zulu. If he controls the state fund he can build a much greater royal homestead beautifullier than what Shaka Zulu will build in this modern days. So he built Nkandla. Swimming pool looking like a blade of spear. A 💓 heart like pool and called it. Fire safety pool. His children 21 must gain richness through stealing from public funds. It this great? Well back to the thief himself Zuma. You speak fondly of Zuma. Not a suprise because dearest uncle is making a lot of money and you in turn are very fond of Malema. You speak of Zuma as some hero. Plainly inside your heart you know the guy massed up. Gupta's, Bosasa, trying to steal money everywhere including putting a final nail to VBS. Including Malema too a part in VBS robbery. My question to you, your uncle and others who support Zuma, is : " do you care about poor South African citizens, the civil war that some of you shows in support of corruption,?" Apartheid may have died, but devide and rule still exist in line with tribalism. My advice. The ANC belongs to the people of South Africa. The 112 years of its existence should be preserved . That's where all of you are wrong. The ANC is not Ramaphosa. It's South African citizens. So Mbeki and Zuma will be seen as the ones who killed the ANC. Not Cyril Ramaphosa alone. History is going to punish them all.
@Anevmusic

Interesting analysis. But maybe there's another perspective. Everyone has always assumed that the ANC has 2 centres of power but i think there are three and there has always been three: (Mandela/Ramaphosa) + (Hani/Zuma) + (Tambo/Mbeki). It was this dynamic that could have been exploited in CODESA by the West and National Party. My theory is that in the late 1980s Tambo successfully negotiated support from China and Russia but once the National Party caught wind of this they made a deal with the West and lobbied a deal that forced the Mandela centre to agree to something that was half truth, thus delaying the BRICS block. The Robben island solitary confinement may have been used as a tool of sowing misinformation which led to the division of the ANC during that time. With all that said I don't believe in the Zuma vs Mbeki narrative but rather an African Identity vs the World outlook with the battle of ideas within the ANC raging trying to achieve a sovereign African Identity not tied to colonialism or racism. Our country needs to come together beyond race lines and build as the Afrikaners did in order to become independent from the rest of the world.

This country also does not need racism to be perpetuated by people like Julius Malema and those that want to use racism to keep them relevant in society because if racism and the shit of apartheid were left out of conversations and the media then these sorts of people would be swept away by the tide of history and they would be cast into the history books where there relevance would become lost in the sands of time .

The one part that you missed here was that Zuma was not the big star he is today. Mbeki chose Zuma to be DP because he didn't want a popular rival being so powerful like Ramaphosa was , he went with someone he thought was weak and a unifying factor being a Zulu man. Zuma remember was just an MEC and then becomes DP?! That was quite a rise but a calculation by Mbeki anticipating he wouldn't be a threat to him and being friends it made it easier. This was Mbekis miscalculation. And that's how Zuma became Zuma.

It's so surprising, Mbeki went underground during Zuma's Presidency. But now with Ramaphosa he took a very challenging step on him and ANC. He spoke about Phala Phala & renewal of the ANC and how the ANC abuse its majority in Parliament. Mbeki asked them how can he campaign for criminals.😅 The ANC doesn't want challenge itself, its a good thing now that both former leaders recognise the fall of the ANC but remain obstinate in rescuing it. 😊

One thing that is seriously underestimated in SA politics, is the infiltration by the enemy through various means. When you read "The Ugly face of Neo-Colonialism" you learn how people like Mbeki, Mobutu Seseseko, Mugabe and many black politicians who went to Europe, and later became presidents, were nothing but agents of the enemy... And here I am talking about Mbeki(yes he was and still remains the undetected agent provacature)... While(ironically), Zuma remains the last man standing who was never captured by the enemy, hence his status of the most hated black politician by the enemy and its minions like Mbeki, Ramaphosa and others.

Your analysis in on point. Mbeki comes from the Mfengu, a class of Europeanised Black South Africans who fought for the British, took land from the natives, granted them to White people. Many still identify with European Culture, religion and support the Colonial legacy such as opposing land to dispossed Black South Africans. Mbeki left South Africa at 16 years. He is Europeanized. He has no connection to the historical desire of Black South Africans. He thinks we just want to be English speaking Middle Class group living in White suburbs. Mbeki was given a Two-Thirds majority by Black South Africans; yet, he deliberately refused to: 1. Standardised the Nguni language as well as the Sotho language both remain sub-divided "tribal" languages that will never challenge English as the language of government, officialdom and National languages. 2. He refusee to remove Roman-Dutch Law, resuscitating and development our partially Codified isiNtu Law (Judge Hlophe who is an expert on African Law was removed precisely because hw could have become a Chief Justice and promote isiNtu law). 3. Mbeki refused to change the Constitution, removing the Sun-Set Clauses that protect Colonial gains, and preserve the vestiges of Apartheid. 4. Mbeki refused to expropriate land that was idle (not in use), to be granted to land-less and dispossessed Black South Africans. He advocates the failed Willing Seller/Willing Buyer approach. 5. He refused to remove the Land Restitution into Community Trust. Community Trusts do not give Black people personal title over the land. Black people were set up for failure and all land returned via Community Trust fail (as it was meant to be).

We need more of this analysis, with a deeper and thorough information. Their fighting (Zuma and Mbeki broke the ANC, and the country. Now, this is my analysis, Its clear as water that there has always been a compaign to character assassinate Zuma, to paint him as unintelligent, corrupt, not fit to be the head state. Even his role in the struggle is not being told correctly and given the praise it deserves. The man was the head of ANC intel, Commander of MK, Head of ANC in Mozambique, spent 10 years in Robben Island, pretty much stopped the civil war in KZN, etc. Yet we still hear people referring to him as unintelligent, especially AmaXhosa and none Zulus in general. Also remember that Amabhunu hated Zuma and Chris Hani pretty much the same. There were several attempts to assassinate him, i recall when the Apartheid government bombed his flat in Zimbabwe but Zuma outsmarted them like he often did, he survived. Zuma is being attacked because he remains loyal to the original principles of the ANC (Pro East and Anti West, hence his relationship with Russia and Putin) , while others, including Mbeki compromised. Mandela, Tutu and Mbeki all wears FREEMANSONS RINGS, to me this says everything about who control them and whose agenda they are/were serving. We could have made so much progress as a nation if Mbeki and Zuma worked together in past 30 years. I often say this, picture SA where Mbeki is the head of state for 30+ years while Zuma is the Head of the ANC. Zuma connect with ordinary people on the ground, and drive the policies of the ANC with Mbeki tasked to implement them.

South African Politicians are dangerously divided into two groups and or factional camps of the type of useless political ideologies, at the expense of the Alliance Partnership! These TWO Leaders, who are for the interest of the West and the other who is for Leaders who are Corrupt amongst themselves because they are too Ethnic in their Minds and are for a lifetime Leadership, even if they know that South Africa has various ethnic Groups, which in fact, doesn’t Agree on a number of Political issues, regarding how to Achieve Black Majority’s Real progressive liberation struggles! Therefore, Only the Yourh of this RSA country could change the course through an Adoption of a New formed type of Colonial shared Power and or smart political terrains in their country! Apartheid is said to be gone, however we see a new type of Apartheid that has just re-emerged through strategic looting of State Resources by the latter’s ideology!
