Totally agree with your high intensity approach and remarks about technique and benefits of hill training. If you don’t live in a hilly environment, executing this type of training facing headwind might be a good alternative to hill training.

What if you live in a flat country like mine (Northern Netherlands). I don't compete (55yrs), though I sometimes still do intervals against strong headwind, but thats about it...

Are there any videos on how to train your ancles, without skates? Wont get my skates until i go home in 4 weeks time, but want to strengthen my ancles in preperation.. Thanks..

I suggest the uphill speed is far way from the speed on a competition. It brings to different angles and involves different bundles of muscle fibers. So it is not as good as competition speed training.

@@santanukundu1817 I can assume the following: 30-60 sec sprints on the move and 3-5 min of quiet rollerblading between the sprints x 2 days; weight squats x 1 day; rest x 1 day. Long distance from time to time.
