But my gma worked at Children's hospital for 40 yrs. So when I started skating she lost her shit. And forced me to go and meet kids that were just fuct for life. I'd rather have died personally. Now after seeing all that u better believe I was a new man...who never wore a pad or helmet ever. That shit sux! But I did fuck myself up...many times. Which is gonna happen. Accept that shit and keep going. But I will say 1 kinda "Dad" thing. If u break or fracture, tear, dislocate...whatever. Do your fuckin best to let that shit heal. I got a Dremmel for my b day. I asked for it. For 1 reason and 1 reason only. Cast removal. And I did it for all my buddies and shit to. That is my only regret. Id do all that shit exactly the same. From the dumbest to the funnest. That was the best time of my life. But im paying dearly for that shit now. Especially for never being any better than at best a average skater. I play my record player at the park because it's a lot of fun and different. People are always curious about it and they seem to like it. It doesn't go that loud anyways, but it's loud enough for me to have fun carving the bowl. It's different from just using a boombox, it's being played from actual vinyl records and it's just so much fun skating with it. They like it at my park, everyone starts coming to the bowl where I play the records. Music is my real talent, that's why I enjoy it so much. It's not 90s stuff either, it's the classics from 60s and 70s.

I got soo paranoid after this and this story is why I didn’t traverse the skate park until I had been riding for three months. So I had finally decided to skate around my neighborhood, so I could learn longer distances, when all of a sudden, a Karen started yelling at me for damaging her property. Skateboarding was my only stress relief, and I was trying to wind down from school, so naturally, all the tears came out when she yelled at me. Annnd then she called the cops on me, and lucky for me, they were really nice and understanding. Can’t say they had the same attitude towards the Karen. Everything eventually got sorted out, and it was quite the story to tell my parents. I still don’t skate that side of the neighborhood to this day✌🏼

As a skater (aggressive inline), when I’m done with my skating or I’m recovering between sessions, I pull out my camera and take pictures of other skaters. I always ask if people are ok with being in pictures, of course. Also always give them the means of getting the pictures I take of them as well. I’m not super good at photography as I’m just an amateur photographer, but it’s good practice, lets me get some more hobbies done while I’m out, and other skaters really seem to appreciate it. All of that said, yeah I agree, don’t just start taking pictures of random people without their knowing and/or consent. That’s hella creepy. The only time I ever don’t ask people for permission is when the park is overly full or busy. Even then, I make an effort to talk to whoever I get pictures of. Biggest issue I’ve honestly had is that at skateparks, I don’t want to be a random person standing in the middle of the floor and be in the way. But it’s also never really been an issue.

As a girl who skateboards at normal parks, it's really weird when people stare a thing you, skateboarding in my country is really uncommon so people end up staring. I remember once I was skating and someone started whistling and I just went away from there.
