I have had a personal theory that Jod is actually Petro from the Clone Wars who was with Ahsoka and other younglings who took on Hondo, and then later helped Hondo against Grievous... I think maybe there's a chance that when Order 66 went down, he went to Hondo for help... and he's a pirate now because of it.

That explains his rudimentary Force abilities and philosophy. The direct, canon, connection to Hondo set him up perfectly to become a Pirate. I mean, after Order 66, what else was he to do except turn to the one person who could smuggle him out of Empire territory and possibly show him how to eek out a life? If true, none of it would hurt the established stories we all love and it would be a nice conclusion to the story arc that began way back in the Clone Wars.

His voice is not like a pirate's voice at all and nowhere close to matching the Tak Rennod's voice from the treasure room recording. So, the supervisor still could technically turn out to be "the Wizard." AKA, just a record voice or AI voice machine because the real supervisor died long ago.

I find it hilarious that you can't bring yourself to admit that you enjoy the show. You have a smile on your face and say, 'its ok". I like seeing a noble jedi saber being used for evil deeds. We only see red sabers do bad things, this makes it feel so wrong...in a good creative entertaining way. I think what's throwing people off that there is no "wars" in this version. Its more like "Star Adventure"

The thing I like about this show is that it’s not predictable. Everything that has happened hasn’t really been hinted or exposed before it truly happened. It really has me questioning, what is next? It’s been a very fun show. Did not expect this show to be this great from the trailer.

I have loved every episode of John Watts and Christopher Ford's Skeleton Crew. I like that they have gone a different direction to what our expectations were. That is the right way to do it instead of what Ruin Johnson did in TLJ. It is a shame that Skeleton Crew hasn't shown up on the Nielson Ratings for some reason.

@Beercorn86 before I knew who voiced the Supervisor, I listened to his voice. He did not sound like a pirate whatsoever. He didn't sound anything close to Captain Rennod from the recording left in the treasure room. So, either the supervisor is "the Wizard" who died long ago and is just an AI voiceover, or he's alive but is someone other than Rennod. By the way, the Supervisor was voiced by Stephen Fry who starred in V for Vendetta.

There is no supervisor. They'll find Rennod's rotten corpse sitting on the seat and the automated system is running on it's own. Rennod probably triggered some failsafe and was imprisoned in the room. Totally guessing, but would be funny as hell. I'd love to see Jude Law's character realize that the hidden planet is the security and stability he's been searching BUT I also would love to see him go full on evil.

I found it really intriguing, as he stood screaming at the kids in the ship. You could tell that he was projecting his own misery onto them and what ever trauma he experienced after Order 66 and that was interesting. Supervisor is HK-47. :D This was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard so it's easy to like. I hate/love Jod. I am not sure he was a full jedi, just a force sensitive that learned some tricks. Notice how he doesn't seem to have fine control like a Jedi would or even a Padawan. 10/10

What a surprise! I didn’t expect that at all. And that’s a good point for the showrunners. I like to be surprised like that. I think the supervisor is an AI 😉 Maybe we’re not supposed to know much about Jod. He is who he is. The last episode will put us in a good or bad mood. We’ll see. I’m still very satisfied with the special effects and the intelligence they showed to alternate between the “volume” and the green screens.
