Hi! I just feel the need to share this experience with anyone who reads this. In a couple weeks I’m going to the doctors, to get a diagnosis, that I know in my heart will not be good. Last night, I was feeling sad and lonely. My mother is an artist who hasn’t really painted or drawn in awhile... came over with two pencils and an old notebook that she used in college. We sat down and talked and laughed and drew a portrait together. It was such a calm and healing experience that I know I will never forget. Art brings people together and is so healing. I just wanna say I love this channel and I love whoever is reading this! Life is so unpredictable, go hug a person you love and tell them how much they mean to you! 💕

What I love about this tour is it is a REAL sketchbook. What I mea. Is some artists do "sketchbook" tours and they are practically all completely finished pieces. But what's so lovely about yours is you see all stages
@meganslater54214 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I adore the finished ones don't get me wrong. But I enjoyed seeing the different stages your work goes through
@crowofcainhurst4 жыл бұрын
Yes agree. I keep watching this video over and over because the realness of her sketchbook really inspired me to do something about my sketchbook. Her sketchbook is more something like where she puts her idea and concepts of her future paintings instead of fully completed drawings that more like an art book instead of sketchbook.

I'm really that type of artist that makes finished things (not all, but still) but it's just so relaxing to see finished pages, when they are really full

I really enjoy watching a sketchbook tour where there is such a wide variety of subjects and unfinished pieces! I have never completed a sketchbook I just used them for projects and then they get put away and a new book gets started. I wonder if it is a new art form because of KZbin? I enjoyed your book and I encourage you to go back and turn some of these ideas into finished pictures/paintings! I adore the Mission Gold watercolor paints, I have since become enamored with the DaVinci line of paints, they just WoW me! I blame Denise! Keep up your fantastic work and I look forward to seeing more in this new year!

so inspiring! I love your artwork! It might be a good idea to put sticky tabs on pages of ideas you want to develop further? I do it sometimes with sketches and writing, and when I am not sure what I want to do I go though my old books, often they inspire something completely new lol but maybe one day I'll do the original idea!
@alittlefella9854 жыл бұрын
aaah those sketches are so beautiful! Makes me really inspired to draw more, have been kind of neglecting my sketchbook these past weeks... seeing those imperfect ink scribbles between gorgeous ones made me think back on my very few attempts at drawing with brush pens, how I instantly decided that they weren't my thing and how I should go back and explore them more now, try and learn :'D thank you ❤

I don't have kids, but my partner and I always go the park and there's guaranteed to be a kid who wants to paint or draw with us. My travel set is a little nice, but not like super pricey, same with my travel sketchbooks. Sometimes, a four year old or maybe eight tops will splash blue and pinkand red and all sorts of colours, draw Elsa or write their names or draw flowers or bats... and my partner asked me "Don't you want to give them your cheaper sketchbooks so they don't waste your fancy paper?" I just looked at the aghast, "What's even the point of a sketchbook if you can't collect the art of children?" So I totally agree with you on the ending. I think I'd like to do that, have my ids draw the first or last page in all my books. They'll have their own, but it's a great little reminder that you also get to keep ad doesn't get thrown out in the piiiiles of art and books they may get rid of.

Love the video! Maybe to counter the smudging of graphite you can spray it with hairspray? That’s something that works for me, though it does set the graphite in place quite permanently.
@lunasylnodel4 жыл бұрын
i have the same sketchbook!! it's not really finished tho.... i think ive been having difficulty finishing it because it feels a bit fancy to me? so i feel like i dont want to waste good paper.... it's funny how my sketchbooks that really contain the most actual sketches are the the cheapest ones because then if i mess up i dont feel like i wasted the paper, but then i cant use a lot of mediums like too much ink or paint because the paper isnt strong enough lol. anyway, this makes me want to have more fun finishing this sketchbook

Loved your video as always. Surprisingly the purple and yellow combination has a good variety of natural skin tones too. I see several tones I use to paint different variations of darker skin.

Its fun how kids turns their drawings to a story! (or the other way around..) 😍❤️ You definitly use your sketchbook to the fullest! Mine has a lot of blank space that I, in my mind, will get back to and fill in. But that never happens.. 🙈😅

I was wondering are "the boys" inspired by or set in the dragon age universe?
@arleebean4 жыл бұрын
Actually, no! I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of inspiration pulled from the games in some way, but their story isn't set in that universe. :] Thanks for asking about them!
