Thinking back now to what I went through as a teen, my aunts would constantly try to “help” my skin when I was a teen cause to them it was sooo bad but I didn’t want to constantly wash my face and exfoliate every day and Since I was 13-16 anything I tried to say got overlooked since I was small and dumb but now I wish I was more stubborn with not wanting to constantly try new face washes. My skin in my 20s is way better now but looking back it was such a waste knowing it was normal at that age to break out and my family was trying to “fix it” with expensive and harsh washes and chemicals

As an almost 40yr old I am cringing at how I did literally nothing for skincare as a teen. No cleansing, no moisturizing, no sunscreen, NOTHING. Luckily I never had an acne issue, I just remember my face being dry. When my daughter hits her teens I will be definitely be teaching her how to take care of her skin (and body overall!). Great tips, thank you!

Mariah Freed ... they are seriously bad news ... have you ever come across the study were they have said they CAN cause cancer down the track ? I read it a long time ago and let me tell you I’ve had cancer on the side of my right nose, breast cancer to my right side and I’m now dealing with cancer on my right leg (the shin part) ... so I really have to wonder, did those tanning beds I use to lay on do this to my body or is it bc I’m 55 and I’m getting old ... that’s why I recommend the younger generation to stay away from them altogether, just to be on the save side.
@honeybun79265 жыл бұрын
Chezgirl Rose I’m so sorry to hear that! It really makes you think! I get regular checks at my dermatology office now because of my history with tanning. I don’t think it’s as popular as it was for me in the mid early 2000’s. And then growing up with the Jersey Shore era. 😂 but truly sorry! I know getting older a lot of problems come to surface, I am sure I will be paying for my youth one day... I’m still not as healthy as I should be.

When you do the skin care routine, have you ever thought about inserting a few pictures of some products, in this case ones formulated for sensitive skin? Don't get me wrong, what you're doing is 100% enough, but some people are extremely lazy (like myself) and don't go looking through the ingredients of skin care products, and instead take the commercials at face value. Having a list of skincare products posted to go along with the skincare routine would be a huge help for people like me. I love you videos Kenna, hope this comment didn't come off as demanding, I was just making a humble suggestion as the lazy pleb I am.

Such an awesome video with terrific suggestions, tip, & message, Kenna. Thank you! One thing I want to add is that some teens might want to ask an adult about seeing a dermatologist. Some kids just genetically have bad acne that scars which can be so rough to live with and a dermatologist might be able to help lessen the damage which can become permanent. Sometimes parents are clueless about it or think it's unnecessary, but the kid should get help when needed.

I wish I knew this info when I was a teenager. I realized it late that my skin was sensitive to fragrance, but I would be gentle in HS, just using a Dove Bar and Olay lotion for my face, but I would use an Apricot Scrub once a week. I hardly wore makeup but I was in sports, so a lot of my cleansing was to get rid of the dirt and sweat accumulated from playing softball, lol. I only started to break out in college, due to stress and hormones. I now use Cerave and Olay lotion (fragrance free). Still have hormonal breakouts, but I use a face wash with salicylic acid, no physical scrubbing.

aloe vera helps me A LOT with my eczema, there’s also a cortisone cream specifically for eczema that works for me sometimes but other times can be too harsh. With the aloe vera, i get my face kind of wet then put it all over my face and let it dry before i put on my make up and after i take it off before bed.

have you ever seen a dermatologist? It is not normal for your skin to have acne by eating something, unless it's an allergic reaction which i would see a doctor about if you think it's that. If it's only a pimple or two that sounds normal. A derm can help treat your acne by prescribing something to help. It's helped me in the past. I was breaking out bad on my cheeks last year out of nowhere and tried everything to get rid of it, like cutting sugar, drinking more water but nothing helped. turned out it had nothing to do with that and I ook an oral medication and it is completely gone now.

Nolwe Dash try Kenna’s products. The face wash is light and so is the moisturizer. They help keep your skin calm and have many added benefits to keep your skin balanced.
