It was a relatively small pay cut (2 words) for what he was still able to contribute as a mid 30s guard, whose' game revolves around explosiveness (even though he's got finesse & smarts). 20 million per yr was pretty good for where his career trajectory was heading, even if a certain team was willing to overpay him by a few million more, especially considering no State Income Tax in Florida. Riley may have been able to be 1-2 million per yr more generous w/ Arison's money, at the expense of being able to sign or retain 1 less decent role player, for a team that desperately needed all the help it could get in the post-Lebron yrs, to stay competitive. Riley's a lot of things, but not the most sentimental type, and Wade was the one who was really guilty of asking for the salary the 05 version of himself would've been worth in 16.

Dwayne Wade is the closest I have ever seen to MJ from 2006 to 2010 and never stat chased. If he wanted, he could have easily had way more 40, 50+ / triple double games, but he was more passive than MJ or Kobe, until the 4th quarter came. Wade was a fantastic athlete and a very underrated leader. My only knock on him was he did'nt trust his 3 shot or work from the post until later in his career.

That finals performance is so overrated. It was incredible, but he averaged 34-8-3 on 16 free throws a game while Kobe 2009 averaged 32-6-7 and Lebron in 2016 averaged 30-11-9. None of those are even close to Jordans almost 40 ppg in some of those finals.

If you take every player in his PRIME, Dwyane Wade is a top 5 player all time. In his prime he was better than Kobe but Kobe's was way longer and that's why he is ranking over Dwyane.

He’s a Top 17 player... would have 2 finals mvps if Lebron showed up in the 2011 finals... Shaq was injured in the 06 finals and Heat were down 0-2 and wade brought the heat back ... 09 Wade was robbed finals mvp because yo give someone an mvp outside of a top 2 seed was too unheard of before westbrook(Malone’s Jazz was tied for 1st seed but was technically a 3rd seed)... led team USA in scoring in 2010 as the 6th man ...(most efficient 2guard for 9 years straight)... best defensive Sg all time... top 3 SG all time and if he wasn’t injured after those Knee surgeries he nearly was in the argument for top 2 & countlessly compared to MJ... best shot blocker under 6’6... just imagine if he stayed healthy during the big 3 era...(his injuries truly started taking affect after 2012)

Most definitely not the best defensive SG of all time and wasn't the best SG in the league even when he wasn't injured, and statistically wasn't the most efficient 2 guard either. He was great, top 15 player of all time, top 3 SG of all time but you're just making up stuff for the narrative now.
