Congrats on the TN state record/world record skippy...I remember seeing the articles on local news websites back when it happened and when I saw this video title it brought that back to my mind the picture of you holding the record one and thinking at the time, man that is a lot of bait in one fish.

Well done. We catch them throughout the spring below the dams on the rivers here in the southeast. The rocky easements along power line crossings are another great spot.

This is a great video! But as you know its not always easy to find/catch bait. I have a challenge for you. Tons of people talk about using chicken with kool-aid or jello. It would be neat to see what you can catch with your outstanding skills but use chicken instead of Skipjack.

Why would you not just locate them and use a throw net? Not trying to be rude it is just the first question that popped into my mind. Are you not allowed to use one?
@TopKnoxFishing3 жыл бұрын
They aren't like gizzard shad. Catching one in a cast net is near impossible.
@briankrenning78113 жыл бұрын
@@TopKnoxFishing I got you. We generally pick up a few with a cast net when we're going for Asian carp. I normally just buy 25 lb or so at the beginning of every season. If you ever come up to the st. Louis area I'd love to take you out fishing on the Mississippi.
