Excellent! George and I were classmates at Marist High School Class of 1966 in Bayonne, NJ. Wonderful to see this, very happy for George and his partners!

Another great video Tom! After the SFS stopped operating I never thought I’d have the chance to see that old equipment running again, let alone restored!

Man, dig that crazy paint scheme. Very phantasmagorial. Great job Tom covering the inaugeral run and nice preview of things to come inside the depot.

The end of the Plain Train! People will talk about it, and the whole concept fits perfectly with the Santa Fe vibe. Best of luck!

How far did they go out from Lamy?
@YardLimit3 жыл бұрын
This run was 8 miles out of Lamy. Other adventures go from Santa Fe to Lamy and back.

The Legal Tender is open during certain hours. El Ortiz Cafe will be opening in the Lamy Depot in January.

I would like to ride this railway maybe in September this year. Does it connect with the Antrak Southwest Limited? Would like to try the Rail runner commuter service too.
@YardLimit2 жыл бұрын
@@kenkemzura903 It isn't really intended to be transportation between Santa Fe and Lamy, but you could probably make that work for the Southwest Chief (no such thing as Southwest Limited) if you got creative. You can ride the Rail Runner between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

What happened to the "Talladega" dining car? I had lunch in that car several years ago.
@YardLimit3 жыл бұрын
It's still sitting a the Lamy depot. I'm not sure what the plans for it are, but I think it will be moved to the Legal Tender at some future date.
@paulsturtz76383 жыл бұрын
@@YardLimit I was drawn to it because I served on the USS Talladega APA-208 many years ago, have the name tattooed on my arm. Had two terrific lunches there, met some folks from the movie ranch.

Talladega needs some work and has been found to have asbestos in it so for the time being its not going to be used.

really odd paint scheme still neat looking
@starkj923 жыл бұрын
While I can see why the paint scheme is controversial among railfans/foamers, I'm more happy to see the line's renewed lease on life. Better an unconventional paint scheme than abandonment.
@YardLimit3 жыл бұрын
I was skeptical about it when I first saw it, but I really like it. The train looks very cool in the desert.
