The real reason the Altmer dispise talos: He is an Incarnation of Shor. Shor is lorkan. Lorkan is the missing god, the 'Deadric Prince' of nirn. Lorkans heart is what allowed the Tribunal to exist. Lorkan decived the ancestor gods of the Elves the 8 devines they accept have a elvish counterpart that just not converted by alesia. Lorkan is the God of Humans not elves. also the Dragonborn is an incarnation of shor, thats why he can sit in shors chair if i remember correctly

All accurate, but the main thing I would add is that the core issue is the Altmer feel that their ancestor spirits were tricked by Lorkhan into becoming mortal through their participation in the creation of Nirn. The Altmer's primary drive, and why they're intentionally trying to bring about the end of the world, is that they want to return to being entities of spirit in the spirit realm of Aetherius. Uh, and that's all the detail I'm willing to add because nobody wants to read a whole dissertation on creation myths, cosmology, and Anuic vs Padomaic [sp?] views on whether creation was a good thing or not in a KZbin comment. But if anybody did want a deep lore dive I'd recommend Written in Uncertainty, The Selectives Lorecast, and/or Fudgemuppet.

To point out on the Forsworn, or rather the Reachmen, is that they were the natives of the Reach, then the Nords appeared and did the Nord thing of "Yoink. Now be happy to be subservient." The uprising during the Aldmeri war was the Reachmen trying to reclaim the Reach.

Yeah, it's profoundly poorly communicated in-game that that the Reachmen are the colonized indigenous people of The Reach and I think most of their history is only conveyed in ESO. It's particularly made even more unnecessarily unclear by Skyrim insisting on exclusively referring to them as "Forsworn". Imperialism and colonization have always been major themes in TES, and I think it's one of the many areas where Skyrim just completely drops any semblance of trying to be a work in communication with the rest of the series even more so than Oblivion did.

Also in ESO Southern Skyrim DLC they talk about that Forsworn an Nords have been fighting an taking the same territory for years. Plus Souther Skyrim DLC goes allot in Skyrims story, from a little of the dead Dragons rising, to how Souther an Norther Skyrim are always at odds an trying to name a 1 King of Skyrim.

That's just what humans do. When one group finds another that has something they want, and the other group isn't powerful enough to defend themselves, they get conquered. That's why history is littered with more fallen empires than any one person can remember. The Forsworn just never ended up in that position

Forsworn history 101: the Reach was inhabited by Reachmen, a maybe Breton group sandwiched in the mountains in western Skyrim and eastern Highrock (also sometimes called the reach broadly) and they have for most of their recent and distant history been an oppressed group and in lore and pre Skyrim representations of the reach it’s very obvious that Reachmen don’t have the same rights or privileges as Nords, some Reachmen exist within Nordic society, some live in the hills, some fight back and the biggest most notable movement at the time of Skyrim is the forsworn who are very extreme in their goals and methods, like the Isis of the Reach. Other notable facts are that Reachmen in general worship daedra but not necessarily in an evil way and there was even a brief period of time where they ruled the former Reman empire

Zach, the forsworn are the natives of the reach, but the Nords took the land thousands of years ago and have ruled ever since. So the forsworn technically have a claim, but it’s a truly ANCIENT claim. I honestly question how many modern forsworn have enough genetic heritage to the men who were pushed out of the Reach to really say it’s theirs and theirs only give how the natives have been interbreeding with the Nords for literally THOUSANDS of years.

Lore! The natives ruled a thousand years ago, got conquered by the nords and treated horribly becuase nords are dicks. Then the nords left to fight the thalmor, and a native faction called the forsworn took back their ancesteral lands. The forsworn ruled fairly well for two years, then the nords took back the land, decimated the native population (1 in 10 executed) and the forsworn now fight as ultra nationalist xenophobic terrorists. The nords are dicks for mistrating the natives and stealing their land, and the forsworn are dicks for literally killing anyone who isnt forsworn regardless of allegiance, sympathies, species, race, or social class.

The native Reachmen's best hope for equal rights and justice is the Empire. Just like the Orcs of Orsinium, the Empire would defend the rights of the Reachmen to their land. But Madanach would rather hinder his people's liberation by just killing everyone he sees. Nord or not. The Jarl of Markarth's father tried to bring peace between the Forsworn and the Nords, and the Forsworn killed him. Even so, his son is still not a fanatic Reachmen hater. Though he despises the Forsworn, he still understands he rules over many Reachmen. And so long as they're not Forsworn, they are his citizens. He doesn't listen to the Silver-Bloods for a very good reason. He says he believes their trustworthy enough, but really he doesn't want anyone starting anything with the Silver-Bloods that would cause an economic crisis and potentially a Silver-Blood led uprising in favor of the Stormcloaks. He knows the Empire is the only way to ensure true peace in his hold.

I dislike Riften and the Thieves Guild, as it's an area that is so poorly written and feels rushed, but damn, Igmund really shows the poor work they did when he talks about the Silver-Blood as if they haven't been slaughtered and the mine has a huge hole in it. And then praises you for dealing with The King in Rags, suddenly forgets all about that and won't sell you a house because you didn't do some specific minor quests. The Thieves Guild quest line is good, but they don't have a good opening, and it's dumb that you need to run through the Ragged Flagon to get to the midden... ARGH! Too much dumb! The game needed 2 more years, at least!
