I appreciate so much of your content and the way you teach. When you first shared your metaphor of slangpolska= horse i said "no way!" I hear the Polska's bounce as riding a horse let loose along the shore or on an open plain. But then you shared "holding the reigns, holding back the power of the horse", YES! That is the feeling! Holding back the horses desire to stretch it's muscles. I really connect w your metaphors/ descriptions/ feelings. Thank you!

So glad my metaphors help you ! I work a lot with metaphors myself, they really help me link different things together and therefore understand new things easier. And yep, the bounce of Scandi music is very horse-like somehow !

Thank you so much for this. It is my favorite kind of information, understanding based on the feeling of a thing more so than (but of course including) the technique. You're really great at this.

Oh thank you very much ! I guess my concerns about teaching by using instinct and previous capacities/knowledge instead of just showering the students with pure theory are at work for my videos aswell ;)

Hej Emilie. In your last video I learned how to bow. ( I have had two violins and given both of them away because I could not get it to play. But NOW I know how!) Thanks! - In both videos you give so many excellent tips, and I have never known as much about polska as I do now. Great fun! Thank you! Verkligen roligt! Tack, och Hej!

Thank you for your Scandi Folk Nerd videos! You have outstanding didactical skills and clearness. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing more interesting stuff on your channel. Little technical advice: Your autofocus lens is hunting pretty often during the take. You may better set the focus manually and disable the autofocus function All the best
@EmelieWaldken7 жыл бұрын
Oh thanks a lot for your feedback ! I know about the autofocus, it's not good, sadly my camera is really bad and there is no manual focus function on it. I'm sorry if this is disturbing, I know it's there, can't do much about it for now. I'd like a better camera one day, but this is not in my budget yet ! At least the sound stays clear !

Bra video!
@EmelieWaldken7 жыл бұрын
@albink.29207 жыл бұрын

@EmelieWaldken Жыл бұрын
Hej Minke !

Thank you for this! I was trying to understand this tune better: Slängpolska från Östra Ryd, kzbin.info/www/bejne/paS2YWebpqySrNU , and after listening to your explanations carefully, a lot of the styling and technical choices become so much clearer. Now if I could find place in my life for a nyckelharpa, that would be nice.

Jag har plugat Malungs Folkhögskola, Bollnäs Folkhögskola och Eric Sahlström Institutet, med bl.a. Olov Johansson, Mia Marin, Adrian Jones, Sonia Sahlström, Patrik Andersson, Linnéa Aall-Campbell, Niklas Roswall..
