Love the fact how you dont add music and spend half the video talking into a camera with no fishing. Living in SW Michigan, your videos have helped alot and are addicting. Sweet Spring Slabbage😎 I was probably 10, a co-worker of my Dad's picked us up with a John boat, we seined minnows from a local creek, went to a lake and caught Crappie one after another. I didn't know fishing could be like that, Dad liked Catfishing with cheesebait on a nearby small river, which is a bit of a waiting game. I'll never forget that day, Smallmouth are my favorite, but to this day Calico bass hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for sharing.

The “Informative Fisherman” turned me on to some top notch floats. Bill Lewis Rocket Bobbers, made in the USA 🇺🇸 lifetime warranty. They are AWESOME. I know, I like thill floats but I love these rocket bobbers. They should work well with a float and fly rig for Bronze backs. They weigh more than other floats allowing for extreme casts in slightly breezy weather. Several sizes and GITD floats 👍🏻 Amazon and eBay have them.

Great video!!!, I have seen your other videos and i believe you use the same rod and reel set up... do you mind sharing brand and specs? Thank you!

I have several setups that look similar, most are St Croix Legend Tournament bass rods with Abu Revo MGX reels. The one I was using here was basically the same but the rod was a Legend walleye rod, the 5’9” M XF. That one is a little lighter than the bass rods so I like it for catching panfish.
@telemarkmann68705 жыл бұрын
NDYakAngler, What rod,reel,line combo are you using to catch them? It looks like your bass set up. If that is what you are using I am impressed it can propel the little jig, I know the bobber adds a bit of weight to the rig. Where I am from (New England) we call crappie, papermouth’s or calico bass (freshwater calico are members of the sunfish family).
@ndyakangler5 жыл бұрын
It’s pretty similar to my bass setups but it’s a St Croix Legend walleye rod, the 5’9” M XF although it’s pretty light for a medium. It’s actually a great panfish rod. I had my Revo MGX 20 reel with 6lb Trilene.

Crappie are among my favorite fish to eat right up there with walleye and Cajun grilled catfish. Crappie has a finer flake texture than the others. Smaller bass are ok if you’re just gonna fry them up but I’d take some crappie or bluegill over bass any day.

I use it for that and to keep the bait suspended next to the reeds longer than I’d be able to casting and reeling, although that probably would have worked too with how many fish were stacked up in that one spot.

It must be nice to fish on a quiet lake. All of the bodies of water where I live have almost no shoreline left undeveloped. Waterside property is a premium, so whenever I go fishing, it's literally behind someone's house.

@ndyakangler5 жыл бұрын
I use a Zoom H1/ATR-3350 lapel mic to record audio and swap it in editing. I probably spend more time on the audio than the video in my editing process too. I’ll boost the volume quite a bit to get the birds and nature sounds, run an EQ with a high pass to get rid of some wind noise and a low pass to get rid of recorder hiss, then I’ll go through the entire track toning down any loud noises and my voice if I talk louder in certain spots.
