I purchased the GET ignition as well as the fuel injection. This was a real Game Changer for me. Never could get my 300 like I like it. Jeff called me and asked me what I wanted, how I ride and what level rider I was. He is single handedly responsible for elevating my. riding and making riding fun again. Incredible! Thanks Jeff!

I couldn’t be happier with the GET ecu from Slavens and their maps. After a couple map versions my bike runs amazing for my area. I also suggest a high compression head.

Got my Coober for 550$ almost a year ago for my 19 te300i. Crisp across the board, cleaned up the gurgle I had coming out of 2nd, bike seems to run cooler as well.

Jeff, when using the GET or the Coober, do you do the idle screw mod as well? I am not looking for any more power, and am deciding between TSP, GET, and Coober. I would just like to smooth it out, make sure the fuel / air ratios are proper so I don't overheat or cause premature damage. Bike likes to idle high and gets a hanging idle on occasion. Also, any drawbacks for durability / longevity if using the stock head? I'm looking to get 20 years out of this bike, these are my main concerns. Thanks! 2021 KTM 300 XC-W TPI.

Kyle: Yes, I recommend the idle screw update slavensracing.com/shop/slavens-mule-ez-idle-screw-ktm-tpi-hqv/ because most of the `20-21s have a too low idle and some have the hanging idle which indicates the air screw needs turned in. We will have a kit out soon that will include a head, the Coober or GET and an EZ idle screw included and our competition will hate the low price. Stock head or hi comp head will not be a problem for reliability or a long service life.

I’m looking at the get ecu with the fuel injector relocate kit, if I do that plus a head how much of a boost from stock am I looking to gain? 2022 xc-w 250 11 hours on it. Idles like crap and I actually had a boil over today riding in some mud

Does the get ecu have a map for oiling that can be edited?

The phone app does not allow adjusting the pump but we can do it with the software.

Jeff, What about the traction controller? I have seen other sellers of the GET that also offer the traction control dial. Do you offer it as well?

So nobody else develops GET maps in the US? I thought Mike @ Taco Moto develops his own as well? He states that he pre-loads them with 2 self developed maps. I’m surprised as he seems like a reputable guy.

I’m surprised as he seems like a reputable guy”. First, lets talk about what it takes to develop maps that work in the real world. GET starts on the dyno (with an exhaust gas analyzer) to establish baseline settings then they head to the track with test riders and tweak the settings they developed on the dyno. They make maps for hundreds of models, so there is no way they can spend more time than that per model. The end result is more torque and HP than the stock settings BUT are by no means the best/ultimate settings. Guys get all excited, almost orgasmic, about dynos but they are just a starting point and NOT the end all be all. Dynos do not and cannot mimic real world scenarios. At Slavens Racing, when we install a GET for a new model we head to the trail to evaluate the performance. Then we go to the dyno, make some adjustments then back to the real world trails with the butt dyno. Out on the trail I use my phone to make changes then when I return I download those changes to the desktop software and fine tune the changes. The GET software is much more detailed than the phone app. If we sold you what looks good on a dyno, you would not be a happy camper. Between the 300 and 500 I have around 200 trail hours developing maps. There is NO WAY to develop good low RPM settings, on and off throttle settings, quick throttle movements and a zillion other real world settings on a dyno because on dynos the throttle is WIDE OPEN and the engine is revving its guts out. How often do you ride wide open throttle on a tight single track with rocks, roots, step-ups and drop-offs, etc.? We have test riders and a map developer at low elevation and I do the development and testing for high elevation plus we have several testers in Colorado. Back to your question. We are the largest GET dealer in the world and yes we are the only GET retailer in the USA that develops maps on the dyno and in the real world. There is a guy in Texas that lives by the dyno and develops 4 stroke maps only. His maps are better than GET base maps but he spends NO time in the dirt. He sells pre-loaded GET ECUs to Taco Mike (TM does not load anything) and to legitimate dealers. TM works out of his house and his grungy garage so he is not a legitimate dealer/retailer and has lied and posed as a dealer to get vendors to sell to him. Several vendors shut him off after they found out he scammed them. He does not post his address and does not have a walk-in facility. We have re-mapped many GETs sold by TM. The 2 stroke GETs he sells have 2 identical GET base maps, NO changes but that is NOT what he advertises. Unethical, dishonest and total BS in my book. To develop great maps, 1. You must be proficient with the GET software. 2. You must be very experienced at tuning motorcycles. Mike has been in the MC industry for about 5 minutes. 3. You must ride a variety of terrain and elevations including extreme terrain, gnarly trails, flowy trails, dirt roads and even pavement. 4. You must have a skill level that can ride the mentioned terrain. He only post pics on fire roads in the desert so my guess is he doesn’t have upper level skills. In Texas they have a saying; big hat, no cattle. Definitely applies here.

The GET Race Kit has a lot of parts and pieces that are expensive to produce. Yes, it's not cheap but worth every penny if you want your bike to rip.

Will the GET ecu and a high comp head make the bike run cooler? This is the set up im looking at currently. I find my bike runs hot... would like to solve this issue. Thanks!

Reid: Your bike runs hot because it is lean. The GET ECU will fix the lean issue which will make it run cooler and pull much stronger. It will totally transform the engine. The head will help by delivering more grunt and torque so you will use the clutch less and that will also keep things cool.

GETs purchased from us include custom maps but if you purchased elsewhere, we charge $150 to update it. That price also includes support if needed.

I like the way my 22 300 runs with the coober but seems to leave an oil mark on my rear tire.

There are bigger fish to fry. It runs well so enjoy it, go ride and focus on throttle therapy.

The GET RX-1 Pro slavensracing.com/shop/get-rx1-evo-ecu-ktm/ is excellent. I have one on my 500 and it rips. Vortex currently does not offer one for your bike.

We don't sell that brand so we don't have one to test. However, two customers have told me they tried our head with the Coober ECU and the TSP head and reflash and the end results were very similar.
