Sry for the delay between the 2 parts, had a few busy days irl 😵Anyway, I really like the concept and I hope the mod will stick around so that the big character mods could think about adding their own Birthcake effects to their mods as well! But tbh, I feel like it would need a bit of a balance patch at some point. Some cakes are just waaaay too strong in comparison (Azazel, T-Lilith for example). Just a bit of fine-tuning to those and it is a perfect mod to add as a gernal piece to your list!

Hey, a disease being "contagious" means that is spreads very effectively, not that is is poisonous. Tainted Azazel's brimstone curse is contagious by default, as when an enemy is killed by a brimstone enemy it explodes and spreads

T Jacob is straight up broken. Dark Esau melts late game bosses and his biggest threat is inside an uncleared room. In a cleared room it is super easy to avoid Esau, so the whole character is broken. Good that char is boring for me anyway 🤣

T. Lost's birthcake really feels underwhelming and useless. There is very little reason to exchange 10 luck for a trinket that has a chance to remove your holy mantle, which is far more crucial than getting an extra item

I feel like an extra hit isn't all too useful in a room that's gonna be cleared from the explosion, especially when the upside is a more permanent one compared to the downside, which you can negate by not using your Holy Card until the Treasure Room, or just getting another one, since they are fairly common with T. Lost.

The T. Jacob is number one for me. This benefit really comes with risk, so you gotta use some strategies, like switching trinkets for every floor. (By this, I mean that you take the birthday cake with you after (hopefully) taking care of the boss with no hit from Esau, if possible.) All in all, that way you can secure it to its fullest, and take it as a real emergency if trouble kicks in, let's say, getting hit by jacob in the lategame part. Once again, this is a Top 3 No. 1 trinket for me personally. Having a lethal weapon on your side for a floor? Give me that, thank you!

from a thematic standpoint it's absolutely brilliant. jacob stealing esau's birthright, causing him to starve only to feed his brother's ghost from super hell a cupcake, and the resulting act of selflessness causes dark esau to stop actively seeking out revenge just for a *little bit* is hilariously fitting imo

I remember suggesting some ideas for this in the original reddit thread but with a slightly different focus. Since it's a "birthday present", I imagined the trinket to revolve around the idea of surprise. So, for T. Cain for example, my idea was that killing the floor's boss would yield an assortment of pickups and chests (like a piñata), for T. Lost it would increase the chance for getting a quality 4 item in the floor (only once per floor), for T. Samson, upon clearing a room, a "piñata" would spawn which, if hit in berserk mode, it would drop a random heart (half hearts are more likely) or a coin, and it would extend his berserk mode, etc. The general idea was for the effects to happen like a surprising, birthday event. Also, very important, but each time one of these events proc'd, a party horn sound effect would play.

It was just how I was thinking about the concept of the birthday cake itself. But yeah, overall, it would be fun to hear the party horn sfx whenever T. Samson would extend his berserk mode, or whenever T. Lost would spawn 2 pedestals (even if it broke his mantle), or when T. Jacob gets hit by dark Esau x)

I think that the tainted forgor 💀 body has one fly for balance reasons, if you had 3 flies at all times it would be kind of busted (even more) to be able to block that many tears for essentially free, while having to carry the body (which means you're not attacking) makes it ever so slightly more balanced.

Regular Forgotten and Tainted Jacob. Like for my Delirium Kill and my Beast Run, I had an issue where I was doing goodish (For having to constantly move) and BAM. Esau hit me and I went into panic mode. That also gets me caught in the Beasts suction attack and leaves me open for Esau's charge. (Cost me a run and it happened on my kill run.) If kept for the final boss of either run, it would turn Esau into a VERY helpful buddy.

OK, the effect of T.Jacob is kinda cute considering the Biblical story of the two brothers and the background of the Birthright item Basically, Esau had to trade in his own birthright to his younger brother just to get something to eat, so his brother actually giving him a cake that serves a similar purpose to the birthright seems oddly fitting (It's also why T.Jacob's birthright quote is "It's not yours" and buffs his brother instead)

7:00 in theory depending on map layout, Tainted Lilith *could* force a specific familiar for any given room. An example of such map layout is a 1x2 room adjacent to 2 1x1 rooms that are also adjacent to themselves. such trick is called "triangulation". however, that will require tons of backtracking and isn't really worth the effort most of the time anyway

Wow tainted losts effect is actually really bad, i think itd be balanced enough if the cake just had that chance of disappearing. Destroying your holy mantle on top makes it only a risk worth taking if you already lost it in the first place, but even then you get a free perfection trinket anyways which consistently pays out with better pickups and has an extremely powerful synergy with luck based items.

I feel like there should be option to make birthcake separate roll from trinkets so there's a bigger chance to get it in the run, but also change to get it multiple times. That would of course make the game easier, but some of us would enjoy it (for example me and my friends all have big to small skill issue). Of course it should be in mod menu from a mod (i forgor how it's called ) and it shouldn't be on by default but we would enjoy the option

I feel like tainted sam could go without the bonus berserk TIME for clearing a room, in base isaac it's really easy enough to keep the train going for a whole floor (speaking as a chronic tainted sam player) so you'll always be running that chance* anyway, ideally. Not to mention it's always been weird with roll-overs on its usual 5 second limit, since getting kills while having more than 5s actually _reduces_ it to the 5s mark.

I think something cool for tainted jacob is that instead of just being a free hit then the positive. If holding the cupcake made esau super aggressive, attacking faster and more often (him trying to "eat" the cupcake) and then if you get hit (no free hit) you get the buff shown in the video. I think it'd be cool since it'd fall more in line with the birthright effect that's still a negative, but with uses

Since Perfection is guaranteed as T.Lost there's absolutely no reason switch it out for something that can practically kill you at the cost of MAYBE getting one or two items from it. This isn't even "High risk high reward" this is "High risk, maybe some reward depending on if the item is good or if it even proccs"

Tainted Lost is about the only one of the characters I'd consider a definite "no-go." having a 50% change to lose the Mantle when you enter an item room is just way too big a downside. I love Tainted Apollyon's effect. He's already my all-time favorite character, and this just give him even more!

The Jacob one was so wholesome. Even though Dark Esau wants revenge on Jacob, the truce makes Dark Esau fight alongside Jacob for the floor. I wish that Tainted Birthcake was useful for three floors of the run, then Dark Esau would go back to attacking Jacob. It would've been cool if the mod did that.

I have an idea for a mod axy it's an axolotle where it has regen (placentia) skipping and breaking tears (flat stone + parasite) and a cute character model 2ith every water type floor your in grants +50 dmg because its a water animal so yea but you can get a Lil axy where it grants regen every 10 seconds and an hp up its actually pretty op but not only that if you get max red hp it grants a transformation and an item called heart Bank where if you get any more hp it gets sent to the heart bank but the transformation is called hearty it just grants a ×10 dmg multiplier and bone hearts only dissappear if all red hp is no longer in any of them
