This video is Part 1 of my showcase of the awesome modded trinket "Birthcake" for The Binding of Isaac Repentance. It was created by Føxy and damagaz based on a concept posted on the Isaac Reddit and has different effects for every character in the game, just like the Birthright item! So Eve's effect is just Crow's heart but you don't lose devil/angel room chance when you get hit.

For what it's worth, Crow's Heart is kinda a forgettable Trinket ...Or maybe it's forgettable for just me, since I _think_ I don't have it unlocked [can't be bothered to actually check right now, but it's a Greedier unlock so I probably don't have it], but it also simultaneously shouldn't be forgettable for me considering it's the namesake of the Blessing of the Crow mod

I tried to create a mod inspired by Birthright. It would alter drastically the Isaac's Bedrooms for each character, having an item pedestal with unique item pool for each character, mostly containing their respective unlocks and rarely Birthright itself (that I thought it would be interesting for it to be removed from shop pool for balance sake). I would also remove the guaranteed crawlspace. Messy bedrooms would be the ones for the tainted characters. It could also have a chance to contain things other than items, like many hearts for Maggie, a devil deal for Judas, many poops for Blue Baby... Maybe in some layouts you got a trinket from the character's pool instead of an item. It's spawn mechanic could be something you could try to fish for like a planetarium.

That's an interesting trinket idea! The issue I'd see with it in this current version though is that the Lazarus is laughably weak compared to the others : a once-a-floor conditional death card simply doesn't hold a candle to the birthright level strength of the other characters effects. To be on the same power level, it would need something like "grants you a permanent stat up every time you die"

This mod would synergies with the “pocket actives on regular characters” mod. A lot of these effects lose their functionality as soon as you find a better active, but with that mod, you’d always have them.

Fun fact: a lot of ideas were actually modified or combined for the final product. Eg. In the original comment for it, Blue Baby's effect would originally spawn a blue fly for 1-charge or infinite use items letting it act as a fish tail if you still had The Poop or a minor enhancment to Guppy's head. Source: I came up with the effect.

Not sure I like the second effect of Lilith's cake. Having a chance for all your familiars to copy the effects of your tears is a pretty solid deal, and I'm not sure I would want to give that up for an effect that's easily replicated by the Cambion Conception that she already starts with.

I would like if this mod also had an item called “grand birthcake” and give a more general stat up that changes if your playing a side. Example: playing a side = general a side effect. playing b side = general b side effect

I have a couple questions for before the next part releases: 1. Are there alternative effects for Tainted characters? (yes/no is fine for this, bc you can go over that in video if there is one) 2. Are there special effects/boosted effects for golden versions/mom's box of the birthcake? I also wanted to say, I love how to-the-point and well made your videos are Slay! You keep things simple and detailed, while also adding a bit of humor here and there for it. Thank you for the videos you make on these amazing mods.

@@pootisman5501 25% of a damocles effect when meeting pedestal, with further 50% of explosion (also destroys the birthcake), removing rhe mantle without killing the character (dull razor effect) tl;dr, 1/4 chance of double item pedestal and 1/8 of losing the trinket and mantle when meeting pedestal item

Hello people, I have to tell you something: in the act that they released you can unlock a secret character, here are the unlocking steps: grab 2041 coins (it doesn't matter if you reach the limit of the counter), go to home and in the main room and a door will appear (the event works even in victory laps), enter the door that leads to the patio of the house and where there is a statue that says "L is real 2041" and you have to go around the statue 2041 to unlock to character.
