Particularly liked the slow and heavy, and the lighter but quicker sled suggestion. Thanks.

Steven, you need way moore followeres, this is so helpful, thanks! I just finished Hyrox in Hamburg in a doubles team (me 52, my partner 40 with a runners background, both around 90kg) and finished 3rd (agegroup 40-49) in 1:06. the sled is the main problem, it costs so much power and heartbeat is going through the roof, cant even emagine how hard it must be with the pro weights ... it took us 1:35 and 2:22 and our running time fell back from 4:20 to slightly under 5:00 after the sled pushes/pulls but we recovered later on. I think I do have enough power to move that beast but fatique is the main problem. I will follow your suggestions next time and hope it helps to survice ... Thanks again and all the best to down under!

Love that you got value from this! Great to hear you guys did well but yes, sled pushes and pulls are hard work under fatigue. When is your next Hyrox comp booked for?

What about the angle of torso and hand placement? I think you’re a little high and angled? Why not get lower and more horizontal? I thought that what this video was about

How heavy does the 152kg on a gym astro turf compare to the carpet of hyrox?? I heard it feels heavier as more friction..but how much?
@stevencollinstraining
@stevencollinstraining Жыл бұрын
Too many variables; heat, humidity, turf, friction, sled age, turf age, etc... Focus on using heavier loads in training, get comfortable with all grip positions and play with the work to rest ratios so you can develop different energy systems on the sled push.

Almost every video I have seen recommends bent arms over straight but for half a year 6 days a week for one to two hours per day with 100 to 200 kilos loaded I have push/pulled the sled using straight arms 99 percent and hate bent arms....I dont feel right and fatigue easier and lose control...Maybe I am jut a weirdo not sure....At 54 years old I am loving the exercise this gives though...Still think bent arms positions absolutely sucks though 😷

Yeah totally agree with you on this actually - if your good at pushing it straight arms you’ll still have the competitive advantage over others whatever they choose so stick to what works best for you - don’t follow the crowd 😉 but is always nice to mix it up and play in training. Have you got a Hyrox comp coming up?

you’re correct. i was trained by a barbell hall of famer with an 1102 bench powerlifter. arms straight back in line no arching and drive with legs

Oh come on...how "technical" can it get? I mean, it's a sled push right, we've all dealt with some pushing at some stage in our daily lives, haven't we? It's one of those basic human movement patterns that don't require any learning curve.
