1. The room set up for only two things, sleep and sex. 2. No electronics, no blue light, no cell phones, no work. 3. Air quality; best temp 62 to 68 degrees, fresh air, maybe humidifier where appropriate, air purifier or fan. 4. "Snake Plant" produces the most oxygen at night. 5 & 6 ? 7 Keep room dark. Use red night light.

This stuff works for those that have gone off course a bit with their sleep. Real insomnia is far more difficult to cure. I was born with it and can distinctly remember staying awake much of the night at the age of 4 and am now over 60 and it has never improved, in fact I could have invented most of these rules, cause if broken, even sleeping pills wont work. The expression " sleep hygiene" was devised as a catch-all put down for health professionals to use to get patients out of the office as well as pinning the blame on the patients weak personality as they presume it to be.

You do know that the silly and very teenage-ish thing of blocking one letter from the word "sex" does not make it any less of itself, correct? It's not an improper word, nor is it a "sin" to use it in describing what a bedroom is for. Just saying, in case you haven't yet learned that it's all right to be adult enough to use proper words in their correct context.
@susanmercurio10603 жыл бұрын

I keep the blue light turned off all the time. It's much more restfull. I don't drink caffeine, and still have trouble sleeping. I have to keep the phone on the night stand for emergencies, and alarm... and if I can't go to sleep, after a while (hrs.) I get on the phone and watch something mindless. Then I go to sleep, but it's 4/5 oclock in the morning. My day is turned upside down. Mornings are horrible, no matter how much sleep I get. Still trying to do better.

I had no idea about that benefit of the snake plant. I just got one a month ago for my bedroom. I guess I'm on the right track! Almost always have a fan on, humidifier and also just got an air purifier a month ago. That was to try and be proactive with allergies. The electronic stuff is tricky for me. I love having the TV on or my phone on. I feel anxious in dead silence. I'm an over thinker. The electronics distract me so my mind can relax. At least that's how I feel. If either turns off I'll wake up. 🤷🏾♀️ I have set my phone to 2 night modes. 1st turns blue light off at 8p. At 10p it goes into do not disturb mode and gray scale (no color) until 5a. Unless I dismiss it. It's a new feature on my phone. I've only dismissed it twice since setting it up 3 weeks now. Oh and my Hyperthyroidism gives me chills occasionally so even though the fan is on it rarely is directed on me. Now heat is what I like. Thank you for these tips.
