On the album Vessel does all vocals, plays guitar, bass, piano, synths and production. II does drums. III and IV join them for live shows.

Sleep Token, Unprocessed, and Polyphia restored my faith in music, and I found all of them through each other. It was like, "If you like Polyphia then you're going to love Unprocessed", "If you like Unprocessed then you're going to love Sleep Token". I'm a 51 year old black guy and these 3 bands incorporate everything I grew up listening to despite my unique taste in music for my race at the time. I've never been so hopeful for the future of music. I found Sleep Token about 8 months before they dropped the first single to the new album, so glad they blew up!

BUT if you’re a completely new fan, the last section is JUST as fucking bonkers. it was almost like listening to ST and falling in love with them all over again after hearing this song. to listen them is one experience, but as a musician myself, I can’t help but be jealous and wish so badly that I could play music with these guys. I love this reaction and breakdown. Awesome channel and knowledge. Chokehold is my personal favorite from this album. Another band with similar prog elements, electronic, djenty, etc is VOLA if you haven’t listened already. I’d check out Witness, their last album and work backwards.

Love the sleep token reactions so far. I appreciate react channels that can dig deep into the music as opposed to just making faces so you earned my sub. Also vessel is credited with everything on the albums but drums which II handles. Every sound you hear aside from drums, every vocal is vessel. He has a hand in the production as well. It’s incredible this band is essentially one super talented guy and a crazy good drummer. The bassist and guitarist are touring members for live shows.

Duuuude, I’m psyched you paused so much! Like I mentioned before, your insight is outstanding and you’ve quickly become a favorite watch. Anyway, I spent forever trying to figure out how to count this. The opening sequence can be counted as two 6’s and one 4 repeated. Once the verse starts, believe it or not, it goes to 4/4. It sounds like a wacky time signature and I tried everything until I counted it in 4 out of pure frustration. Imagine my surprise. The drummer is modulating like a mofo and moving the 1 but the time signature never leaves 4/4. Absolutely nuts. Oh, and it is the same guy singing and screaming. Also absolutely nuts.

Vessel does all of the screams on the recorded track but live 4 the guitarist does the screams. You should check out how good Vessel is on Bloodsport from the room below, just him and a piano and also 2s drum playthrough on the Hypnosis track. Then plough ahead with Acseionism. You thought the summoning was wild, and you'll have a complete meltdown on this one😂

This band reunited my love for music. Grew up on, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, The Rolling Stones, Alice in Chains, Lynyrd Skynyrd, anything 90s and back I jammed too. Hip-hop rarely does it for me, i love classic country, but the new stuff is garbage, and outside of a few metal bands rock music is horrible these days. Then my sister showed me The Summoning. I was immediately blown away, started listening to the entire album, amd felt like i was flying. Went back to their first and second album and love every song from every album. Im a Sleep Token addict.

If you're gonna do any more from the latest album may I recommend the closure Euclid as it's just an incredible piece of music (even more so if you're are familiar with their back catalogue) and a perfect album ending, or Are You Really OK? The reason I suggest the latter is because unlike the majority of this album it's a relatively straight forward and simple song, but yet it's still brilliant. Highly emotional lyrics, minimal vocal effects, finger picking, it's one of their most straight forward songs but yet it works.

Sleep Token has already opened shows for Babymetal... I think that's where the inspiration for making musical salads comes from, Babymetal does that a lot, like releasing 1920s jazz in the middle of progressive metal... That Funk section has been the reason people have called The Summoning “baby makin music” which is kinda funny to me. I absolutely LOVE this song

Some of Vessel's vocal reverb is him kinda forcing his natural British accent through his vocals. I've heard that British singers actually have to force their native accents into their vocals since otherwise they sound American (the Brits tend to clip their vowels when speaking, while Americans stretch theirs). It's why we Americans are surprised when we find out a singer is British. Those stretched vowels are a hallmark of American English in general, but they are also a hallmark of singing in English, especially by a native English speaker.
