Amazing tutorial. Plz teach us new colour change or how to go in frontplam from backplam.
@v0rt3xbeta6 жыл бұрын
i was just thinking about this comment randomly. I personally dont use backpalms (and im not very good at them either) but i do have the basic mechanics down. How about this as a solution 1) from a card in backpalm in your right hand, transfer it to gamblers cop in your left hand in the action of showing your right frontside palm empty. (just like the regular palm to palm transfer of a card) 2) from gamblers cop in left hand, transfer it to regular palm in the right hand while showing your left frontside palm empty. Et voila. Let me know what you think!

Alex must be an incredible telepath/mentalist... he brought me the help I needed with DPS with two recently released videos ; one on Shin Lim's channel and the the one about top card DPS on his own.. and now that I've been struggling with my sloppy side steal he comes to my rescue once again ! Thanks for your cool and well edited videos, sir, and have a nice day :)

I like this but the pinky clip is kind of a pain in the butt imo. I do a version where I can side steel the card into a palm and control it pretty much anywhere, unsually on top or bottom of the deck or second from the top or bottom and it looks very similar to this. My version is sort of a combination of this and the DPS. I didn't like the way my DPS looked so I tried to develop a smoother version that wasn't so clunky. I personally don't like clunky and awkward moves. But I love your stuff Alex this is a useful tutorial and I got a lot from this thanks keep them coming!

Alex... I don't like the sidesteal either, it's more of a self-entertaning move to practice... Now, as you said, what other controls do you use? Cascade/variations; Cherry control; Pass - pullback, classic, herman; Venus trap/Orbit Brown move set; Hover Control by Chris Severson (never heard anyone "pro" talk about it, but I like it)... other than these, do you have any other recommendation for controls to the top that aren't supposed to be percieved/explicit? Like a double undercut would be explicit, the ones I've mentioned would be the sort of I'm asking about... Cheers.
@AlexPandrea6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment - as everyone knows, I like the turnover pass, and also my version with an outjogg called T.O.P. - a lot of the times I would do a top change and give them the deck to split open and I put it in the middle. I plan to do a video on things like this.

Dude u can cover up the side steal by keeping the deck perpendicular it's more clean and hand movement seems normal.i mean from the left hand u make the deck perpendicular place the card naturally and start rotating the deck it looks clean.(my way)
@khurgar81202 жыл бұрын
Nice tutorial. I do think you are overthinking the ridgidness of the hand in the original way though, and I dont think the pinky + ringfinger changes how it looks personally.

You are doing a side clip not a side steal. A side steal the card goes into full palm not clipped. Also either move can be done from a peak you steal the card on the way down. You can also use this move as a color change if the deck is face up you can steal the card from the bottom of the deck. If you like the move you may enjoy the Paul La Paul center reverse. Jason England has some nice work on the side steal you want to look into his work for this move.
@macatmagondii28436 жыл бұрын
you can also do it during a swing cut to control from the bottom to the top.

First to comment who actually finished the tutorial. I have one question, how did you overcome your shyness? I mean, talking to a camera loudly in public is really intense. I know that for a fact since I made a vine back in the days where I have to do a super saiyan act on public. Are you training yourself, perhaps?
@AlexPandrea6 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment! Ya I have people look at me - I think yesterday a few girls looked, pointed, and laughed haha - it is what it is. I don't think about it too much, just know I need to get the content and do it. The best advice is the more you do it the less shy you will be - the more you do anything the better you get at it just in general!

Side steal? Don't mind if I do... If only my hand wasn't currently cramping from the top palm.
@philmcguire73466 жыл бұрын
You need to work on that move Alex, In general your sleight of hand is amazing but I'm afraid your side steel is terrible! it's supposed to look like your just straightening the pack not like your palming a card, there needs to be a reason for making such movements + I think you move your dirty hand way too far away from the pack when doing the steel, my dirty hand stays in contact with the pack through the hole process squaring the front and back first and then the sides which just looks like a natural movement, I've spent years on this move by the way. Loving the Summer NOC'S I'll give you a like for that 8-)
@AlexPandrea6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment - yea I totally I agree, and is something I said in the video - I don't do the move, and I know there are so many people who do it better than I do. Just wanted to make the video to show the technique and of course it's up to you guys to make it much better :)

If you don't really steal the selected card, it doesn't make sense to do the side steal. Perhaps you could do the classic pass. The goal would be achieved the same way. My opinion
