There is so much potential here, a sequel deck, an expansion pack that makes it Halloween themed or winter holiday themed, or specific genre themed! You could release an expansion pack of gaff cards! Not to mention the same marking system and deck thinking could be applied to a music deck or video game deck the possibilities are endless!

My Focus deck will arrive on Monday. I firmly believe these types of decks are the future of card magic. From what I can tell Focus is the closest to an actual deck of playing cards. With that in mind I hope you consider creating auxiliary sets to convert Focus into a Mene Tekel, Svengali, Cheek to Cheek etc.

I agree, back when I still performed I always used photos. Because it draws it away from a “childish card trick”. But photos are notoriously hard to handle. Even a Charlier shuffle is not convenient to do. So I’m glad to see image decks. Also a subtlety that Craig has not yet mastered is called them photos or movies or movie posters constantly. And avoid the use of the word deck, but in this case call it a collection. That further disassociates it from card games.

If card tricks are “childish” so is all magic however you dress it up. But I’m OK with that. Nothing wrong with retaining a youthful spirit. I’m 45 yrs old and I still play board games too. I’m not ashamed.

@@rinkydinkfretboard8737 I am onboard with all magic being inherently childish. But also that it’s great to be a kid at heart. To me there’s only one purpose and that’s giving people a bit of entertainment. Although I try to stay away from playing cards because it is associated with the bad boring magic tricks from that weird uncle 🤣 But there’s a reason I too love a fretboard and shredding, it’s just that tiny bit cooler and a tiny bit more mature 😉

@@CallousCoderi hear you. And If I’m honest I’m not all that “into” card tricks. But I think a lot of what you are pointing to can be in the eye of the beholder. And is situational. I will confess to glazing over a bit if card magic is done on TV. But if a friend were to do a trick for me in the pub, I’d be pretty interested. Whatever the medium. Likewise I think the enjoyment I get from a routine is more dependant on how much I like the performer and how they use any props than what those props are. :)

@@CallousCoderas for fretboards…….I’m trying to learn a wind instrument at the moment, you know something a bit more mature 🤣But it’s slow progress. Ironically I wish I’d picked it up when I was still literally childish ;)))) I would have progressed a lot faster. No matter I’m only doing it for the fun of learning it (although would be nice to end up somewhat competent). If nothing else helps me appreciate what I can do with a fretboard all the more. (Not that much, but more than on the orchestral instrument) If you don’t push yourself you can forget what it was like to have to struggle just to tie a few notes together 😂😂😂

Penguin is killing me!!! I ordered Focus and Capsize and they only sent me Capsize. This kind of thing has been happening a lot as of late. I just hope I get Focus before it’s gone.

I don't think it's as strong as evoke in terms of mind-reading because it's plausible that you might have memorised all these facts about those films. I really enjoyed the card tricks, some very original thinking.
@magic-tv2 күн бұрын
I get what you are saying but remember they take a card and put it in their pocket without you looking. So how would memorising anything help?
@mbcx9ts22 күн бұрын
@@magic-tv I agree, telling someone the movie they are thinking of is a very strong trick.

You hit a grand slam with this I loveeeee movies. I love your decks. This is so me I definitely lean toward mentalism but want to learn more magic style tricks but do not care for straight up card tricks. It is like this was made for me! Brilliant!!

It’s weird because teens don’t love movies as much anymore. My friend’s teen spends a lot of time here after he died earlier this year. Him and his friends don’t care dor movies. They love (no they live for) short form content and video games. As a GenXer it’s totally foreign to me. They don’t really care for music and they don’t like films. That was what my generation lived for (that and cocaine and liquor) 😂 But I adore that generation dearly, they are so sweet and caring. Socially awkward though - literally texting each other from across the room (baffles me beyond believe) but they have a deep connection with each other.
