It's either Zootopia or Zootropolis depending on the region, if its bluray, DVD, Disney plus etc. The news agent is also a different animal and/or voice actor depending on the version... WHY ARE THERE SO MANY VERSIONS!

For animals, Kangaroos. There was a song by a now-disgraced artist that was every Christmas as a kid. Six White Boomers. For media, Die Hard. Specifically watching it with my Mum. Reminds me of koalas. They have to be able to live in trees and subsist primarily on highly acidic leaves, and presumably as an evolutionary trade off, they're really stupid. If you put a plate of leaves in front of a koala, it'll think "what the hell am I supposed to do with this?"

In my italian dialect mushrooms are called "fungi" instead of "funghi" that's pronunciated with the soft g. I still remember to this day my english teacher trying to teach us: "remember, it's pronounced "fungi" [english] not "fungi" [dialect]. I sensed a lot of PTSD with that word XD

I find it more implausible that the sloth evolved over millions of years with so many attributes that would have gotten them all killed before reaching the point where we recognize that this creature is a sloth. Instead it is more likely that this hyper specifically designed creature was made this way from the get go.

There's this weird thing in the culture of doctors and scientists where every generation decides to take a bunch of words and if not change them outright, change the way they're pronounced. A big part of this is ego, if the expert pronounces it "fun-jye" then he'll be a social influence.
