I'm from England but have many Irish relatives on my mum and dad's side. I was brought up on this dish and it's one of my favourite meals to eat, so easy to make and very tasty

Hi! Loved your video and we tried your recipe. First time the bacon seemed over cooked for us. I wonder if I have done something wrong. Can you confirm the slow cooker is on high the whole cooking time? I thought I heard you mention low at one point around the potato time?

Hi , yes on the low setting

@@TheIrishChefhi sorry more questions!! Again love this recipe and we have tried a lots of times. Watching again I want to confirm cook time. 3 min mark you say 6 hours, 1:11 min mark you show 5 hours. Also do we start on high and then switch to low? Or low the whole time?

What do you do with the broth?
@TheIrishChef2 жыл бұрын
Some people in ireland would drink the broth , I myself found it too salty. You could use a little if you were making a soup but again it can be very salty. Its a judgement call really.

@@TheIrishChef I wondered. It seems a shame to toss it. I will try and freeze (if the salt will allow) it in cube trays and put it in plastic bags like when I have excessive chicken broth. Then one could add it to soup or even the skillet when frying potatoes and the like... Thanks for the reply.
