It covered boat handling, maneuvering, docking ,mooring, wind, current, and other weather considerations and a lot of other stuff along with have enough life jackets and don't drink and drive.

As far as docking, the easiest method is to get 1 dock line secured. If the bow dock line is secured, place a fender aft of the cleat and bump the boat in reverse while turned into the dock. That should swing the stern into the dock. If the stern line is cleated off to the dock and the bow is kicking away, bump the shifter into forward while turning into the dock. That will make the bow of the boat come over towards the dock. I single hand a small cruiser and I use the stern cleat method as I can work that cleat and pier post from the cockpit. Big thing is to be prepared. Dock lines fastened to the cleats. Bow line is neatly tied up to the stanchion so it can be easily undone when ready to tie to the pier. Fenders are out and in place. If not knowing which side I will be coming in on, that means dock lines and fenders are place on starboard and port sides. If I have passengers, no one is placing limbs over the boat upon approaching the dock.

With rear wheel drive cars/trucks, and an "OPEN" differential, applying the emergency brake about 1/4-1/2 can help with traction.

@ShroomKeppie2 жыл бұрын
The guy pulling on the rope just needed a longer line. You tie one end to the truck bumper and the other end around the palm tree across the street, and make the line as taut as possible. Then grab the rope halfway between the tree and the truck, and push perpendicular to the rope. The tree will act as a lever and give you a force multiplier back to the truck of at least 1.5 to 5, depending on how taut the line can be made. Just one of those weird tricks of physics.
