I passed Nassau and Suffolk, NY police tests with great scores. After much thought while going through hiring process I walked away because I determined I'd have too much trouble with fellow officers because I have empathy and a strong dislike for bullies. 40 years later I know I made the right decision and have no regrets, just relief I didn't go down that nightmare of a career path.

I went to college right after high school for law enforcement because I thought it would be an exciting career. Became a campus police officer (kiddie cop) and had a few hundred hours riding time with the local police. I got my 2 year degree but just couldn't become a cop because I couldn't stand all the kids in my class with the exception of 2 others and the local cops were all the same. A bunch of losers looking for the power, self esteem, something that might make them feel more empowered.

This week(I work nights 45yrs) I was pulled over at 230am, I ask why, the cop said that you where going 5mi an hour UNDER the speed limit and that was evidence of being drunk, when I complained the cop got mad and said he's going to write me a ticket for not using my turn signal enough, I told him I was going to fight the ticket he didn't write it, and this cop was a Sargent. By the way I talked to the Sargent for 45mins and during that time he mentioned he was waiting for the pension to kick in, so he showed what really motivates cops, and it's NOT helping people, like many claim

Yeah, my pops got a too slow ticket, also for 5 miles under. We'd just pulled out of the Elk's club(mid 70s) and LASD pulls him over. Deputy asks if he'd anything to drink and Pops replies ''Yes deputy, sure have''. Cop asks 'How much have you had to drink tonight?" to which Pops replies ''About 12...CUPS OF COFFEE'. Seems the deputy didn't find it amusing at all, but knowing Pops was a teetotaler, younger bro and I were cracking up...

@@andyfletcher3561 I've worked nights 45yrs and been pulled over MANY times early in the morning because the cops are fishing for DUIs, a cop years ago told me he filled out a report at the end of the shift and had to have something to say on the report, so he pulls people over for the report. But a week ago I was the victim of these cops and yet these cops were very mad, one cop held a flashlight in my face (very bright) for at least 15mins. @@jeffnoble9757 Again in the mid 70's, in the age before photocopiers, I had a detective change the statement I made into basically a confession, and of course the original that I actually signed was nowhere to be found. It was much easier to do when they still used mimeographs to make copies because the alterations wouldn't show up. I then had no choice but plead no contest as my PD had no interest in anything other than clearing his obligation. They weren't employees, their firms donated their junior members as PDs.

Cost me 1800 bucks to get all vacated to enlist in the Corps, more than I made my first year in. And I laugh a little myself at my own ignorance. Aside from the rail job, there were issues with the search that caused charges to stack up. The warrant was to retrieve a specific item and there were 2 38 special rounds on the coffee table in plain view. They claimed that gave leave to search for a pistol since none of us in the house were 21. Turns out even then you could get rifles chambered in 38 and that would have been perfectly legal for us to have. We only had the cartridges, no gun at all.

It’s Miami. Nearly everyone is bilingual, and it’s rather tough to even get a job unless you speak both English and Spanish. There’s a lot of “Spanglish” going on, which is also pretty normal.

So, felony deprivation of rights, assault, battery, sexual assault, unlawful restraint/false imprisonment, death threats, etc. etc. etc. Minimum of 10 years in prison for this cop to even approach something like justice. Same goes for all of the other cops on scene since they are aiding/abetting/complicate in the crimes of the first officer.

I hope they filed the biggest lawsuit on this cop and Sue him personally there should be no qualified immunity for this kind of action. If this guy didn’t know, he was violating in their civil rights on purpose because he wanted to if this coffee is qualified immunity I’m coming down there to protest from about 5000 people.

There’s no way I could restrain myself from beating that poor excuse for a man even in uniform with that terrible attitude. He is useless and says he doesn’t play either but what is he going to do when he’s not in uniform and alone. He’s so cocky but I bet my life if caught alone unarmed he would beg like a little girl and wouldn’t be able to do anything except beg and come to terms that karma just caught up with him and it’s too late. He’s a waste of air and the LT is useless and isn’t competent to do his job. This is a disgrace and I feel to make people sit on each other is ridiculous.
