Do you think they tell each other jokes they heard from other farm animals, or do you wonder if they share the usual gossip of who's courting who, or if there are new farm tenants expected? Do they talk about the people, or dream of watermelon, sugar cubes, or apples, or tell how much they want their back scratched, or they noticed the cat has a truce with the mouse. They were seen taking a nap together, middle of the day!

Donkeys are very smart (just shy of dolphins and dogs), affectionate and social, so a seeing-eye donkey is a great choice for a blind horse. Petey is a gem!

I have a blind mare that i rescued, my gelding is her eyes. He takes good care of her. When she gets confused or nervous, she calls out, and he comes to get her. It's a wonderful thing to see. So many people told me to have her put down.. I refused to do so, and she's not in pain and bothers no one. They have a wonderful bond. It does my heart good..
