For talking head videos with a B-shot, I think this is totally doable. Great review, Todd.

Received this item a few weeks ago. I'm very disappointed as Smartta support has not been answering for a while. Please advise if you can answer on two questions: 1. Is there any way to increase the speed from 10 mm/sec to 20mm or 30mm? 2. Starting and stopping recording on mobile (iPhone 12) is not working automatically. If there is any solution ? Thank you

hi Todd thx for the review, I brought the smartta slider on kick starter at 200$ about 2 years ago...I don't see any difference between the 1 & 2, apart from the price since a Z bracket & ball head are included in the 2 version. I haven't used it as much as I thought I would, mainly because of the small length of the slider. You solved a mystery regarding the oval mounting plate as I just found out how to open it!! LOL!

Can you manually move the camera?

Slidermini 1 has been great for me. Its a pity they didnt add legs on the sides for uneven surface like Rhino.

I have version 1 and bought it early when it was on kick starter for $200. I think it’s pretty good. I’ve used it for timelapses and music videos for social media. I think it can be a little sturdier but overall I’m happy with it (especially since I bought for half off)

Great detailed review Todd! This slider would have been really dope, but you're right in assuming there are parts that are not durable. I tested two of these and both of them glitched out and one completely broke. I don't like dropping links of my videos on other people's comment section, but if you want to see what happened, feel free to check out my review in my channel.🤙🏽
