Haha so you've come across the local variant of Islam in Pakistan. To give a bit of context, before Islam came into the Punjab/Sindh region (Sapta Sindhavah) the local religion was a form of ancestral worship whose roots go back to Indo-Aryan and Indus Valley religious practices. People would worship the ancestors of their tribe, certain individuals of importance who historically did something good to benefit their tribesmen. So that practice has carried over even after Islam came into the subcontinent. I assume these people call themselves Quraishi or Syed, an honorific title used by apparent descendants of Prophet Muhammad. So these people probably descend from lineages who were important tribes even before Islam, after their ancestors converted, they began calling themselves Syed, and so the tradition continues. People to this day come to the shrine of this man to pray, because they believe their prayers will be answered through this ancestor who is buried there. Lots of Pakistanis here are quite displeased at this video and understandable given that strictly speaking this is not allowed in Islam. However, whether people agree with it or not, this is the way Islam is practiced by the majority of Pakistanis, particularly people from Punjab and Sindh. My conspiracy theory about this topic is that because this channel started right when covid hit , and he was traveling when the government were being asshats about traveling and officially recommended against. Islam in south asia spread through those saints and not through conquests. If u were in those times and u came across such a saint u would think that he is a beggar or a homeless man sitting at the corner of the street. Unfortunately, the descendants of many such saints use their legacy of spirituality and holiness to gain social and political power and influence. The Prophet Muhammad(peace and Allaah's blessings be upon him) was only the servant of Allaah and his Messenger and he continued to make this clear. Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Do not exaggerate my status as the Christians have done with the son of Mary. Verily, I am only a servant, so refer to me as the servant of Allah and His Messenger.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3445 You will not find it easy to spread lies against Allaah and His final Messenger. Muslims are commanded to have knowledge of their religion.

Pakistan, unfortunately is a country for the elite. Whether they are religious elite, political elite, business elite etc. In case of the people u showed here, this family is the descendant of the saint who is buried in the shire. Islam in south asia spread through those saints and not through conquests. If u were in those times and u came across such a saint u would think that he is a beggar or a homeless man sitting at the corner of the street. Unfortunately, the descendants of many such saints use their legacy of spirituality and holiness to gain social and political power and influence. The uneducated masses cut their own flesh to feed these people forgetting that God is the one they should be submitting to.
