It's almost inspiring to see how far Ganon's come in Ultimate from Brawl, he went from being possibly the worst non joke character in the history of fighting games, to at least just the worst one in the game at the start of smash 4, only to end up only slightly better at the end of it's life, only to find his youth, and his power returned to him in Ultimate. The king of evil's had a hell of a journey, but now he's finally back, may his reign be long, and horrible.

Remember that this list is relative, and based off my own lists. By my standards, Olimar went from an upper mid/lower high tier to a top tier. That's a big jump, but not nearly as big as the characters who made the cut.

I'm surprised to not see Wii Fit Trainer. She used to be a literal bottom 5 character in Smash 4, but with Ultimate's quality of life buffs have made her a viable threat. Deep Breathing is the new "limit", her soccerball is better, has combo throws, and more active hitbox frames on uptilt

Mewtwo (from low tier in Melee to top 10 in Smash 4, then got nerfed hard again) Meta Knight (first he lost his tier of his own from Brawl, then lost his top tier spot in Smash 4) Diddy Kong (Yeah........ He’s just mediocre right now, whereas he was the best non DLC Character in Smash 4) *ALL SMASH 4 DLC NEW COMERS* (Ryu became from top 10 to bottom 15, Cloud lost his top tier spot and is now only mid tier, Corrin dropped from top 15 to low mid tier, and Bayonetta should require 0 explanation)

I'm super proud of my main Dedede. I'm not sure exactly what changed about him but his sweet spots feel bigger and he just feels like a generally tougher character. The suck is a great tool for keeping opponents away, and the hammer is just super strong, it always feels worth how difficult it often is to approach as him. Also, the Dededash attack. My favorite kill hands dowm

Fun fact o3o I called Pichu being in this game when the Switch was still called the NX. People called me crazy, "why would they bring Pichu back if wolf couldn't even survive into Smash 4", "Might as well bring Young Link back as well. I wish that was the case, but that'll never happen, just like how Pichu isn't ever coming back". They asked why i thought he was returning and I said that I just felt like he was and that Smash NX wasn't going to be a port as Sakurai doesn't like making ports.

Falco: Combo game is incredible thanks to down throw, up throw and up tilt. Especially up tilt. Neutral air and up air keep the combos going, forward air can edgeguard and back air can kill. Also, he got his old down air back.

Apart from Jigglypuff who’s also a lot better, Smash 4 bottom tier characters are actually pretty good in this game Dedede is definitely a much more formidable foe than he was for sure! But definitely not improved as much as Ganon for sure I also want to mention Falco and Wii Fit Trainer were both greatly improved, but they still could be better

I gotta be honest: Luigi honestly sucks at this game, his down B change just hinders his performance when he’s off stage, making his recovery pretty bad His offensive capability is just not as good as Mario, especially his up B is much more risky, and his smash attacks are quite a lot weaker, so I think Luigi is really weak in comparison to himself in Smash 4. Maybe I’m just terrible at using him........ but I definitely don’t think he’s as bad as he was in 64 where he’s considered as the worst character in the game His Grab is definitely better though!

Every bottom tier got buffed except for Kirby LOL. He's arguably worse than smash 4 Kirby, which is something i never thought I'd ever have to say. The way the balance team mistreats this character is laughable. Kirby is in my opinion the *worst designed* smash character in the entire series, and I hate to say that because all I'm asking for is a fun, solid character, and in order to get that, i have to play brawl (which sucks competitively), or smash 64 (which is outdated).

Randy Shackleford you’re talking to a Kirby main But I honestly agree, #makekirbygreatagain! Though Kirby was actually decent in Brawl, he is the worst character in probably the entire smash history in Melee though! Also, Bowser Jr was also bottom 10 in Smash 4 and he got worse, probably bottom 3 right now

@@gleen9843 Bowser Jr is not worse in any sense of the word, he got a ton of QoL and direct buffs that make him an incredibly underrated character imo. If you used him in both 4 and Ultimate, the improvements are almost immediately apparent.

Smash 4 Roy was unpromoted Binding Blade Roy at level 10ish. Ultimate Roy is promoted Binding Blade Roy. (For those who don't know, Roy in his home game was actually almost complete garbage until the very end, because the Binding Blade force promoted him and was generally super broken)

It makes sense that you're only comparing characters that were in Smash 4, but I feel in that case you should've made that clear in the title. Also Ganondorf's recovery still makes me sad - I wish he had some kind of teleport move or flying move or something that better represents his domineering presence in the air that Ocarina of Time demonstrated...so that includes also having the ability to float like in Project Melee or that Mage Ganondorf mod. Also the loss of "Ganoncide" is a shame, but now that he's getting better in legitimate ways, it's probably for the better that he can't do it anymore.

I think dedede should've been at least an honorable mention. The lag reduction and the amazing buff to inhale help him with some of his most appalling downsides from the previous game. I just wish Kirby could do the same thing with his inhale and oddly enough he got needed in my opinion.

Kinda surprised GaW wasn’t on this. He now has the best out of shield option, nair is way larger, leads to itself and does good damage. Bacon went from an unusable projectile to a ridiculously damaging defense option that racks damage CRAZY. He also can do drag down nairs into tilts, 2 of which are great kill options Down smash was insanely buffed and now can help kill confirm at 70 He lost toot toot but honestly with the kill confirms he got, toot toot doesn’t mean nothing and having a new up air that safely anti airs and damages great. Also nerfed up smash but it’s still a good anti short hop read and with down smash being what it is... doesn’t matter much. And even his forward air is arguably better. It’s now a pressure tool that keeps people away at a distance and with how easy RARs are in this game and how disjointed nair is... did he really need the old fair?

Don't think you mentioned Dedede yet, but basically took what he was supposed to be in Smash 4 (a trap zoner?) And made it work properly. He can do monstrous damage with properly spaced hits alongside Gordo traps and his edgeguarding is one of the best in the entire game

Dedede probably shouldn’t be on this list, but I think he deserves an honorable mention. The buff to neutral B to spit projectiles out makes him so much more viable since you can’t just throw something at him and then dash in.

I can bring some light to Pac-man’s buffs. Oh my god. I was scared at first. He got a lot of changes to his character, the most important probably being his fruit tossing, which got both nerfed and buffed. Overall, a lot of these changes benefit him, particularly his aerials, which have much better combo potential and frame data. His Side-B comes out faster and goes further. Forward Air, what used to be a joke, is now Pac’s go-to for tumbles and spacing. Pac-Man’s grab hitbox actually makes sense now. Overall, the ultimate engine has benefitted Pac-man significantly. He can afford to be far less campy, and has more of a focus on combos and kill power, which he really needed. It feels like Pac-man can actually fight. However, he is a more difficult character to play as on the technical side, and he is still considered a D-tier character due to his lack of frame advantage in contrast to characters like Ike. He’s not struggling by any means because of weak moves or bad frames. He is just hard to win with in general, but even now, few people understand Pac-man, and players that do respect him. Pac-Man now has the heavy technical play style he deserves.

im not too crazy about pichu but im still sasitfied that he returns in ultimate, even if he deals self damage he can still be fearsome but its ok your dont have to put in the video i respect that its your video you're free to do as you please and im not stopping you^^ if someone wants to add pichu then they can do it themselves in their own video i just want to respect your decision, its your right and its the others right to do what they want in their video as long its not copying someone's else work
