To be fair, the weaponry he's dealt with was a horse shoe on a string, not lasers, electrifying wrecking balls or combustible boomerangs. Not to mention the missiles, grenades, nunchucks, whips hammers, ancient poisonous tribal weaponry, the mini version of a mind controlling ki blast shooting super weapon etc that she could equip if they didn't just limit her to her default 3. Mac's faced a LOT of loons but it's... Relatively grounded looney lol.

You really oversimplified the "Star Punch" mechanic. It's not as simple as "land three punches in a row without getting hit". If that were the case, there would be star punches every 20 seconds. You have to find the exact right moment to strike in order to get a star. Find a moment of vulnerability, or interrupt an attack at just the right time.

i think little mac shouldve won. Stars are given when you attack in a specific opening or when you interrupt your opponents attack. Seeing how Min Min"s arms are disabled by punching them, that means that little mac could've just stayed back and gathered stars, and then make his way to punch the hell out of her. This guy also completely ignores the fact that little mac would just stay back and dodge since he is good at forming a strategy to be able to defeat min min. So what if she could kick or grab him, it doesnt mean that he can just punch her once really hard, instead of performing a combo. I think this guy has just underestimated little mac.

I would have thought that Mac scaled to piston Honda, who is fast enough to run along side a bullet train, therefore react to Min Mins attacks, and assuming on the scaling, he can take on the likes of DK and Sandman, one was a champion, the other knocked the moon out of or orbit, and he is capable of taking down every fighter in punch out in 1 punch of you can meet the requirements, and with the likes of giga Mac, I would have thought Mac took this dub

Mac doesn't, in fact, scale To Honda in MOVEMENT speed. At least not OUTSIDE the Ring. He neither can Scale to Dokey Kong Country DK for to simple Facts: 1. The DK On punch out never shows a similar feat on Strength 2.by the Time DK appears on Punch out, he...still hadnt peformed said Moon feat. Giga Mac also isn’t Canon because he doesn't appear anywhere on the Story and doesn't even have feats to speak of anyways. Lastly the Conditions are a Gameplay Feature and Challenge. Nothing indicates that little Mac Canonically use them to One-shot his opponents in the story of the Game.

This was such a fun fight! Mac is a neat character in that he's the closest equivalent to a normal human in the Smash Ring. I'm kinda surprised he didn't power up using Giga Mac though.

Giga Mac's less of a power up then you'd think. While it certainly beefs up power, it provides no additional defense and makes you a sitting target. Mac's advantage in this matchup is his speed to close the gap, Giga Mac would get absolutely tossed...perhaps literally, which in turn powers up whatever Arm MinMin has on her left.

Cool analysis and animation i was so happy hearing about one of my favorite games ever: Punch- out for the Wii. I expected little Mac to lose but damn he got a raw deal. No giga mac, no speed scaling to Piston hondo because its not comparable, no ability to potentially one-shot anyone, no self and inbetween round healing, no power assumptions and no Donkey Kong scaling. Also pretty sure star-punches work differently in the nes and arcade versions of punch-out. He would probably still lose but damn they took most of his best potential feats away from him.

If they gave little mac the donkey kong scaling (durability as in tanking hits from donkey kong) and strength wise (hurting and knocking out donkey kong) then he would scale higher than minmin in almost all departments and just had to get up close to minmin and land a few blows and win. Little mac got no feats in this and lost because of it.

I feel like Mac wasn't really done that well. Notably no Giga Mac and I feel like DK scaling could be possible as there has been many Mario cameos in the Punch-Out games (Characters in the crowd arcade, Mario Ref in Nes, and well, DK) there has also been Punch-Out references in Mario games (Luigi's Mansion 3 poster, and if I wanna be *THAT* guy, the Mario Movie restaurant) Call it my Punch-Out bias but I really thought Mac could've done it. But still, I feel like Mac was good on the personality side of things, the underdog that never gives up. Great job to everyone who worked on this and excited for the matches to come!

Mac still was able to hurt Donkey Kong and proven to display power relative to his opponents.

I have to strongly disagree especially when mac himself defeated Donkey Kong. Remember that DK punched out moon of orbit into earth surface, defeated Karate, Ninja, Sumo Kong, and Ghastly Kong. Do note that Dk himself can punch rapidly when fighting these enemies. So let us not forget that DK was not KO when was blasted to moon's orbit when show Mac strength to KO DK himself to be impressive. MIN MIN in the other may need few seconds to recover whenever throwing physical attack and further they are, longer require to be ready to use again. So strength, defense, reflex, goes to mac while MIN MIN gets range and weapons edge.

They explained in Mac’s analysis that Punch Out-canon DK isn’t the same as Mario-canon DK. That’s why Mac didn’t scale to the moon punch.

They mention Donkey Kong punching moon out of orbit is questionable for not displaying this feat with Mac. However, even if did DK use about half his strength during fight with Mac is still impressive compare what Min-Min had endured. Do note that Nintendo tend to be flexible about Mario and DK games when come to story telling such as current Dk kidnap Pauline several times despite being good guy, DK was kidnap by King KROOL despite DK should be able break free from cage, and so forth. Heck Mario is even in punch out game which he has history of various job careers (soldier in Vietnam, demolition, plumber, carpenter, and etc). So Mac still should of won.

Little Mac went against Soda Popinski who was able to pull a truck with his teeth. And Mr Sandman who broke down an entire building block. And beat Hondo Piston, who at top speed kept up with a a Japanese bullet train. Also his star punch may be able to reach up to mach 4.

The most impressive feat mac actually did was being able to knock out bear hugger who was 440 pounds in a single hit that would require over a thousand pounds of force to achieve since he was only 107 pounds

Being allowed to be a participant in matches despite his very presence being an infraction even if he dressed properly for the occasion, which he never does, meaning his presence is two infractions, has to count for _something._

I am heavily disappointed at the blatant bias in favor of Min Min was here. The final trade was really breaking character for Mac. He is known for dodging attacks, why would he try to outpower a clearly powerful attack? Not to mention the feats that were discounted, misinformation, outright pulling the "Not Canon lol" card on both the DK fight AND Giga Mac, and even leaving feats out. This REEKS of bias like Death Battle.

I'm not sure I agree with this outcome. Fighting and defeating opponents who are faster and stronger than Little Mac through strategy is his entire modus operandi. He even defeats boxers who do things that are otherwise cheating, such as Great Tiger teleporting or King Hippo using a manhole to cover himself. This isn't to say he'd get far in the tournament or anything, but I still think he was cut short.

I got hit with a wave of nostalgia with that “where’s my water” reference, I liked both analyses. The fight felt very natural considering the people Mac has fought before. i don't disagree with the outcome i just personally think what you don't consider as feats for mac is kinda dumb you have to consider those as feats since they happened and you don't even need to consider donkey kong if you want he still fought and beat mr sand man who destroyed a building with his bare hands he also fought people that have both used weapons and kicks and just comparing great tiger's speed feat but not piston hondo's is lazy in my opinion if piston hundo can keep up with a bullet train and mac can stand toe to toe with him he should have a automatically better speed feat than 30 miles the thing is i don't disagree i feel like both have a good shot i do think mac can't really get in for a good punch but if he does i mean if you count the dk feats then he should destroy her in strength and endurance but if you don't use that then yeah min min probably wins. anyways this was a great battle i just think the research could have been done a bit better. keep up the great work guys

I'd like to argue that Little Mac specializes in any adversity where he's at a disadvantage, it's a huge part of who he is. Although every match up he plays in his games seems to have the advantage he always finds a way to prevail in the end. Reach might be an advantage for Min Min from a distance, but if Little Mac was up in her face, Min Min's arms would be too long to defend herself.

Mac would certainly be at his best up close but that isn't a lopsided advantage against a mixed martial fighter like Min-Min, seeing as Mac has little-to no experience dealing with kicks or grapples. Though regrettably, it wouldn't even matter since he can't meaningfully damage Min-Min or survive any good hits from her.

ARMS characters can retract them to normal length whenever they want as long as they got the mask, which helps them control the ability. No loss of strength either, plus she's a martial artist, them legs can deflect lasers lol. Getting close wouldn't help

I will also say, Little Mac has fought the unpredictable from people who utilize magic to create more versions of themselves, to people who kick, to people who use a flail, to people who even grapple. He's fought people that are as fast as a bullet train and has fought people who can punch apart brick buildings and launch bulls up into the clouds. I dunno, the analysis for this episode just felt lazy.

You literally didn’t put attention to the analysis then, as it was literally specified that Min-Min also had to deal with tricky opponents one of those also teleports,also break concrete with a Single punch and Use actual potencially LETHAL weaponry and also have all kinds of gimmicks in their fighting styles. It’s all layed out and perfectly understood. Min-Min simply had Little Mac out-classed here fair and square. For me,I said It was Impressive enough how much of a Fight despite it that Humougous difference in Range and versatility.

Yooo this was my first time watching this channel and I’ve gotta say. This was pretty awesome. I love the true analysis of the feats of the characters. Also the animation was awesome. It was like something genuinely out of a game and I loved that. Not to mention the music. I’m a guy that really loves music and it’s core concepts and I absolutely LOVED how Skye T. combined the Punch Out Wii Title Theme, Ramen Bowl and the classic Punch Out Theme. It really made this entire video incredible. I’ll definitely be sticking around after seeing this.

Plus, he has beaten dudes who as they said, can punch bulls into space, and turned an entire brick building into a bunch of rubble and dust with only his FISTS, moreover, he's beaten Bald Bull who was revealed to be able to shrug off a hit from a bull like it was nothing, and Piston Hondo who is no doubt the fastest human alive in the Punch Out universe. Honorable mentions go to Soda Popinski who was drinking experimental soda which made him so strong he could pull a truck with his teeth, and Bear Hugger who is 400+ pounds, proving that Mac can succeed at punching miles outside of his weight class. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I'm a little mad at just how much they downplayed Mac's feats here

Little Mac wouldnt make it past round 2, but yall really didnt even want him to win. He scales to Donkey Kong. Take any feat you have of DK's strength and give it to Mac. Also Giga Mac is canon. Also he would do much better fighting the arms than you would think. He has fought matches against profesional kickboxers, and people using arm like weapons. Meanwhile MinMin has 0 experience against a little guy who gets in close to beat the shit out of you

Problem is there isnt much Weakness to really exploit. Min-Min is perfectly aware of said Weakness so from the start is not as easy to use it, then not only she has the Range advantage but unlike Mac she is able to manourver in the Air which gives her a plus in movility and lastly how even if Mac still can somehow pull it off, Min-Min still is a Martial Artist adept in her Kicks and the disability of her Arms only last a little while.

It was absolutely rigged. He discounted Mac's feats, ignored feats, even one that he mentioned that contradicts why Min Min had apparently won. He even outright "conveniently" forgot that Mac is known for dodging. That final blow straight up doesn't make sense. Mac would have dodged it instead of swung at it.

I don't know about rigged. This uses a different ruleset than traditional vs like death battle so a lot of mac's stuff like keeping up with Honda who kept up with a bullet train wouldn't hold up in this particular format. I do however wish to see the math on minmin's stone slab feat as when the matchup was announced I(as well as other people) calced it and it should've placed minmin much lower. I do agree that mac would simply dodge minmin's earlier attacks since in base she's slower and then he'd be able to repeatedly stun her by hitting her arms until she was down for the count(kinda like the Don flamenco trick)

Ok, I think Mac should have won. He has dodged Piston Honda's punches, who can outrun a bullet train (as seen in his intro scene.) He has taken Mr. Sandman's punches, who destroyed a small building (as seen in his intro scene.) He has gone up against Aran Ryan, Great Tiger, Bear Hugger, King Hippo, Super Macho Man, all completely different fighters, and beat them. Min Min has no major speed feats, broken concrete (which he can take) and is yet another unorthodox style of fighting in kicks, grabs and punches on string.
