I know you rarely listen to lyrics but I find them the highlight of the song. so poetically, painfully romantic.

James's use of e-bow in the guitar solo is nice, as usual Jimmy keeps the song moving with his high energy drumming

Hahaha!! Really appreciate your appreciation of the 'doodledey-DAH!' ending. I still love this era of Pumpkins albums, but I'm still a whole album in one go type of listener, so I have patience for them.

This the 1st SP song I hear from radio and then I go out buy the cassette 😊
@wassupinlasvegas97356 ай бұрын
It's funny you mentioned this sounded like a typical SP's song, and maybe that's why it resonates with a lot of fans. Why? This album release came directly after Adore, which some fans disliked because it was different, so this song was a return to form. Adore was their first album without drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, who returned on this album, and the rhythm of his drums definitely contributed to the sound.

Hearing Jimmy on this LP was such a relief!

Good point… Jimmy’s return was a big factor and a return to more guitar oriented songs.

@@heyskipj Indeed… I bought tickets to the Arising tour immediately when I heard about his return. I believe I heard this song live before I heard it on CD.

Love this song, great vibe and Jimmy's drumming is a highlight. I also like the lyrics.

I love this song, it is one of their first singles I remember hearing. Corgan once said this was a classic SP song in the sense that it could've fit on any of their albums. You kinda nailed it with that comment.

This would be up there with one of my favourite Pumpkins tunes

Again, I appreciate your honesty in your reviews. I'm not a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins after the Mellon Collie album but I did enjoy this one. To me it was a reminder of what they were and could have been. Thank you so much for your take on this one.

Good reaction man. Thing about this song is it was written to be a radio single. That’s why it’s not like some other deeper cuts you’ve heard.

Your, they're okay not bothered, stance on the Pumpkins songs is amusing. I nearly always expect you to not like them- mostly because of Corgan's voice. So getting a 'pretty good' was a surprise. I think the song holds up....mainly down to the drum groove.

On live performances i've seen on KZbin their bassist (Auf der Maur) tones the bass down superlow and it really cuts through in the pre-chorus. And Jimmy all day.

As it was a single, the song is more radio-friendly in general.

I remember this video getting some hate, but the song's okay. The video reminds me of Somebody Told Me. It's not amazing, like Tonight Tonight, but it's still decent. I won't change the station if it's played on the radio, but I don't go out of my way to listen to it.

@THEDavidHeretic6 ай бұрын
@@jcdenton4911 I don't mention the names of the bands I play for on the channel. I don't want anyone accusing me of using the channel as an advertising platform for the bands. If you want, people have found a couple of the bands I play in using Google, don't ask me how they did it I have no idea. But they asked me in private chat if I was in ________ and _________ , and I confirmed in private that I am in those bands. I'm also a hired gun, so I'll play for whoever wants to utilize me as long as the pay is correct. So I'll play rock, metal, jazz, funk, R&B, country, hip-hop, pretty much anything as long as I'm being paid correctly.

There are definitely better songs from this underrated album of theirs. "Wound" is my favorite.
@jaimeflor41816 ай бұрын
Fair assessment… I think a B grade is what I’d give it, maybe slightly higher on the number score. It’s a simple atmospheric song w/ good emoting, and it’s played well. The drums and the e-bow lead guitar are my favorite elements. It’s not my favorite song off of Machina, but I like it.

Oh how I hate the production on this album! There's no subtlety, every voice drowned in big and boring nothingness. After that Billy lost all his capability to write songs too. It's sad!
