@@vthetrickster-5367 Freya has a banish on her 3, Janus basically has a banish on his 1, Khumba has one on his ultimate, so does Ne Zha on his ultimate. But none of those are broken. So no Heims ultimate is not broken because it banishes you. If that's the cases then Janus's 1 is broken af since it does the same and you get it on a way lower cooldown.

I honestly didn’t know Guan Yu used to be a Guardian. Hell, when people said Amaterasu’s Ult was/is a weaker rip-off of Guan’s old Ult, I thought they were joking. Amaterasu was the reason I found Smite to begin with.

Alot of other abilities games and systems count yourself as an ally most aura items count you as an ally so you get the extra buffs on top of the base item and it goes back to table top RPGs and like DND to this day has alot of things where it says allies and if it doesn't explicitly say not yourself you get the effects as well

Everyone’s forgetting about the menace that storm kata used to be. 420 damage with 180% scaling, and he didn’t even have to dash to use it? And hit basically everyone cuz of how big the ability is? This definitely deserved a spot on the list

Believe me, as someone who witnessed Ama and Susano's release, that definitely wasn't as bad as these. This is stuff that broke the game to a new level. If we brought back some of those changes and compared them to release Susano's Storm kata? Susano would be dead in water.

Fenrir brutalize was 284 + 520% scaling and could crit, allowing it to be effectively 568 + 1040%. Just so we are clear.

When fenrir was released people just bought a power pot at Lvl 1, went to the enemy's jungle, and hit a brutalize for a oneshot. It was stupid. it was glorious and he just kept doing that shit for the entire match, brutalize used to oneshot basically everyone.

That wasn’t Bellona’s original Scourge, originally, on release it was 100% lifesteal on the third hit. Way more busted, I remember people would build crit and get effectively 33% lifesteal...

Yes! And I swear its like she has infinite cooldowns and movement speed, she just empties her entire kit and it's an easy triple, and can catch up to or escape from anybody! Not to mention knock up CC being one of her primary skills... but leave it to hi rez to be totally fair and balanced.

She was actually a little lackluster on release. Because she was broken in pts. They learned their lesson from baron. After pele was released she was then quickly buffed and was crazy powerful.

Why would you expect anything that you cant control to be highly viable? There are enough broken gods in Smite as it is to satisfy your cravings, just play Pele or Heimdallr and move on.

what you do is find a cooldown MOTD play as anubis. go full dmg and realize guan yu did as much dmg as anubis's ult on a shorter cooldown while not rooting himself

Nike's passive deserves an honourable mention. 12% power and 7% movement speed for the team and the minion goal required 50 fewer minions. The power was 4x what it is now and the movement speed was 3x. She basically won games by existing.

The funny part was she wasn't considered OP while she had it. Most people didn't consider the impact it had on the game at all until everyone noticed her winrate was in outer space.

@@Archerforthelord I think she was overall pretty OP when she came out. Her passive, 1, 3 and ult were all repeatedly nerfed across the first 4 patches after release. But I agree that people didn't realize that even after all those nerfs she had one of the highest win rates while not feeling individually impactful, solely due to her passive. Hence the eventual rework.

Medusa could overcap attack speed with her 1. Imagine a 4 attack speed medusa triple critting you in less than a second, healing off of lifesteal items and triple poisoning you. After you've beem basically stunned by her twice since her ult checking if you looked at her or not wasn't working that well

The reason release guan yu scales off magic was because everyone used to be split that way. Left click attacks were physical and ALL abilities were magic. I used to run crit/attack speed/movement speed ymir. Deathbringer, rage, Qins, fatalis. Watch the 1000+ crits roll in after you hit with an ability

I think original rat passive should get an honorable mention opal acorn and emerald acorn were so ridiculously good, it allowed him to flex between a susano like burst assassin or be a camazotz like sustain and poke assassin in the solo lane. Don't know if I could replace anything in the top 15 with it however. Great video

I would have liked to see mention of release Ravana back when he could ult the weakest link and proceed to fight the entire enemy team 1v5 since he could only take damage from the person he ulted. Not to mention he couldn't miss because it was a lock on ability unlike now.

Why doesn't it still heal minions now? Ra, Hel, Horus, Guan all heal minions and I'm pretty sure other gods do too?

IE it would keep the minions full HP for longer and could literally regenerate them as they were taking tower shots letting you stay in tower an absurd amount of time longer than usual. And the tick on enemy minions pretty much erased them giving sylv an amazing clear for a guardian

You forgot to mention Bellona's flail also used to let you heal of off towers. I watched someone solo FG at 10 minutes solo as release bellona with that heal. She was insane. So for Guan Yu to take that top spot...that should tell you how broken he was

Baba yaga's ult is the single most OP ability we have ever seen. if you hit all four shots it can do a THIRD of the enemys carry's health! (thats right i said a third and its not a typo, you may think a quarter is reasonable for an ult but NOPE, bab yaga is in sicko mode!!!) all while making yaga slow moving and unable to use relics :O i hope hirez nerfs soon or the entire fun of healer meta is gonna be ruined :(

I would mention Raijin's 2, when it was released, there was this thing (most likely unintended) when it could double proc Soul Reaver (if you hit a marked enemy with your 1 or 3, you would get the Soul Reaver proc from these abilities but also your 2). This meant it dealt an extra 30% of the enemy health as TRUE DAMAGE (Soul Reaver use to deal 15%) on a 40 second cooldown if I remember well. On a tanky dude, it could easily raise to 1200 extra true damage, which was insane for a non ultimate ability. You would get deleted no matter the health and protection you guy, nothing you could do about it

How about ah puch release ult? That shit slowed for every corpse hit up to 70%, with gem of iso you were just litterally unable to move, and only could jump away, use beads or wait death. It also lasted during ah puch death, so you could blink-ult enemy backline, sacrifice and basically win a teamfight by yourself. So broken.

Susanoo 1 used to have 220% scaling and the dash was just a dash. Reworked Ravana had 50% dmg reduction for like 8 seconds on his ult and it had like a 70 second cooldown. Arthur ult used to do around 30% max health true damage and hit for like 600 before scaling. Cu Chulain passive used to give him all abilities when it procced and he had like 20 power for free at lvl 1

Pre Zues rework and before magic and physical items were split. You could build crit for basic attacks. It was insane, criting for around 900 and detonate for more then 2000 dmg. Basically every god could be really busted. YMIR for example was hilarious, that was the real face punch ymir.

release ares ult shoulda been on here imo. not only did it do more damage, but you could move full speed while channeling it. meaning you could, with some movement speed built, pull someone from one end of lane to the other.

Don't forget that Bellona's scourge heal used to proc on tower hits too! You could build full atk speed and just face tank towers. Also, Ah Puch definitely deserves a spot on this list. He wasn't good in conquest, so some people might not remember, but he absolutely broke every other game mode. I remember rushing him to diamond and I finished with a 2.23 kdr and 73% winrate. Absolutely busted. Pretty sure he's the only Drybear god that didn't make this list too lol His base damage was just way higher, and his ult had a STACKING slow. I've been playing since console beta and the only one I distinctly remember was squirrel the other oppressive as shit thing was when they released kaldur with his auto attack bot companion skadi and those are the only 2 times the game felt almost near unplayable if you cued with out one on your team or against one

Idk why people never talk about release Xing Tian. I started playing on season 2 and he is still the most broken release god I've ever experienced. Maybe it's just because me and my friends were low level, but I clearly remember him tanking all of my teams abilities and then killing the entire team by himself. I remember pressing "y" and seeing 700 dmg from his 1, 1200 dmg from his ult, 400 dmg from his 3, etc

Dont forget bout Raijin 2, it used to be burst damage instad of a tick like now, did way more damage and could proc soul reaver twice. People used to build soul reaver first item and use the 2 and the 3 and one shot you

You missed a few things. Khepri release Ult had a much longer range. Nemesis shield didn't break upon taking hard CC. Geb release shield also provided Knockback immunity.

Heimdal should be on here. His ult had 120% scaling and I got hit for 1700 with it before. He could basic for about 1100 and his 1 did about 700 damage late game.

Being around smite since alpha, Im gonna have to say that IMO i think fenrir's brutalize should've been number 1. While true that guan's 3 had a massive amount of scaling and such, there would be ways to circumvent it late game. back when fenrir released, you could buy a power pot and girdle and literally kill anyone in the game at level 1 with your 3 (unless they built like a tier 2 breastplate at lv 1) They only way to survive was an aegis amulet. While the public barely found this out right before the nerf, it was common to buy your pot and girdle, run straight to the enemy jungle and kill the first person you see for free gold.

To be completely accurate, you'd have to go all the way back to the first release to beta players, where most abilities could end up being a one shot mechanic, cough cough arachne.. But one that comes to mind is release patch Chang'e her 3rd ability could easily ignore 3 ults if timed correctly. Really old smite, like the first two years, had even more broken abilities than these, but yes you're correct vanilla Guan-Yu was probably one of if not the most broken single character many people remember.

The fun thing is, I remember that Rat was considered really bad pre-rework for a time... But then some Pro used him in Solo lane to counter another guy and since nobody played Rat they didn't know how to counter him and he won lane. And then I believe people started to find ways to use him better..

My worst (and probably funniest?) memory I have is Loki and oh boy that guy was a pain back then, he ulted you and put only the 3 on ya and you'd be dead, doesn't matter how many kills he had, he'd kill you in an instant, unless you got the reaction of a god and could use bead (aegis)..

I clicked just to see where Fenrir ranked and woulda disliked if he wasn't decently high, although imo still way too low. I've played since Alpha and Fenrir on release was INSANE you just land brutalize on someone and back then the items were huge for building crit & power - gotta remember items back then were pretty diff than current items! Dev gloves were standard among other things and anything not a tank would often get crit and die before all 4 hits plus it healed you to full and if you got whacked with a CC you could ult and change the tide of battle while resetting your brutalize for more wrecking. Upon release games were just who had the better Fenrir and it was truly just Fenrir vs Fenrir in Arena or Conq - it didn't matter he was just a monster. Also definitely agree on release Guan - I LOVED playing him back then, you did build 1 defensive item on him btw the thing that buffed his passive healing which made him insane plus tons and tons of damage. Some mentions I thought that would be worthwhile were release Chronos - easy pentakill god with his insane ability to box anything down and dive without death, Hades scaled way too hard with lifesteal, pen and power and could easily devour a full team with just a 1 into the ult and lastly old Vulcan had a thumper cannon that would do damage + slow and your ult buffed both turrets and with that he could solo a duo lane or hold a lane and leave to help another, definitely more balanced now but he was insanely powerful if you abused the turrets properly

you mean the level 13 fen that would solo fire...a thing we luckily have and will never see again ,yea he should probably be 5-7 ish territory. plus he was one of like 4-5 characters who could actually jungle when bumba's was introduced(if i remember right it was thor, loki, nezha, old wukong/hunbatz, and fen(and spiderbitch but nobody knew about bumbas bugging out and giving you additional stacks if you killed two camps at the same time)).

Actually you didn’t mention that bellona was able to heal of towers with her 3. When she was released. And of course she could solo GF at early lvl. Plus u didn’t mention that nemesis had been released with bug. Her shield in reality reflected 100% dmg. It was bug. Though don’t remember the healing. Was it 50% or also 100%.

The fenrir part was wrong the criting and ability counting as a autoattack was a rework, the release ability was just like it is today but beyond broken you used to buy a red pot at level 1 do red buff and then one shot mages and hunters with just 3 at lvl 2 u get ur 2 ability and use that and 3 and you could kill any God in one ability. Release fenrir made me upgrade my PC so I could load faster and pick him.

Nah, his 3 definitely counted as auto attacks when he was released. You're right about the strat though where you went fenrir mid, grabbed a lvl 1 red pot, got red buff then immediately brutalized the enemy mid the second they stepped into lane. Pretty much a guaranteed first blood at lvl 1

@@kazgamer no it didnt lol i am 100% sure and there are videos of it even check drybear. The release was just a ability like today but much more broken the auto attack version was a rework some weeks after release that was meant to nerf him literally killing everyone at lvl 1 with a targeting ability, but aa version was also busted and that was changed again.

@@mcballe just watched the drybear video uploaded 3 days after release day and brutalize crit and gave lifesteal. Also the changelog for fenrir says on-hit effects were removed 1 week after his release.

Executes should negate the pull rather than bypassing khepri ult entirely. As unfun as people say khepri ult is i find it much more unfun when thanatos drops from the sky and instakills me because I was under 40%hp

I’m surprised none of Susanoo’s abilities made it on here, namely his one. Easiest ability in the game to hit, every hit proc’d hydras (so he had 3 hydras procs in one ability), both hits did 90% SCALING, and his dash was longer abd almost instant travel speed, plus it gave him a stack on his OP passive that gave him movement speed for on cooldown abilities. He had the best burst and poke in the game, he’d teleport in (which was faster and longer range on a shorter cooldown), press 1 twice and do 360-400 damage plus 180% of his physical power, and then dash away with no hope of ever catching him. That’s not even including the rest of the kit

Woe , he was because there were 2 bugs that made him insanely broken: 1. His basic attack breath had minion push back on it, which with the amount of ticks it has basically meant he stunned the minion wave indefinitely 2. HIS BASICS PROC’D ITEM AFFECTS! HE COULD STACK DEMONIC GRIP INSTANTLY AND TELEKHINES ON HIM WAS LITERAL ANUBIS ULT AS A FREE RESOURCE Other than that he wasn’t too too insane, it took people a while to figure out and a few buffs and he was top tier for an entire season
