How even is the grate temperature front to back?

Pretty even... now upper grate can get a little hotter, that's why I rarely use it

During the cook besides flipping them did you rotate the position of shanks from left to right or front to back? They look very evenly cooked, even the ones closest and furthest from the firebox!

not at all, that thing cooks evenly the whole time.and it was one of the first cooks I did on it and still trying to figure it out.happy holidays
