This was a really interesting switch to review! I had a lot of mixed thoughts and it took a while to get a better understanding of the history as well as what people do to get around that initial clackiness of the switch. I hope that I could provide a good fair discussion on my thoughts while staying accurate. As always, hope you guys enjoyed!

1:38 Mauves technically are different from H1s and alpacas because they have top housings made with a blend of nylon and polycarbonate, as apposed to just polycarb. This difference in top housing materials would make them sound a bit deeper than H1s or alpacas. Not as deep as a full nylon housing, but not as clacky as full polycarb tops, so it's somewhere in the middle.

Good quality and extensive effort, especially when switching the stems and housing of various switches. But major turn off for me was, I feel the womier/gammakay/monstra you used as the test board did not do justice to the switches.
@shreggo4323
@shreggo4323 4 жыл бұрын
You should try to put tribosys 3203 on any jwk switches. I've heard it makes the switches not as slow as 205g0 while still benefiting the sound in a way.
@rousseau327
@rousseau327 3 жыл бұрын
less is more with lube, the only thing that 3203 gives you in terms of switch return speed is a bigger margin of error if you accidentally apply too much. But from what I've seen, after typing on the board for a week or two, any damped movement goes away as the lube is propagated.

I really like the content. Easy going and concise. However I do have a suggestion that can improve viewer experience and accuracy; trade off is it requires more time from you :] A lot of keyboard review tend to do this: sound comparison switches in different spot. You already know spot can make a difference in the sound; even on same row. It takes a little bit more time but you can replace the switch in the exact same spot and do a jump cut between each switch test.

is that the womier k87 board? Have you ever seen another board that came anywhere close to that type of value? Also, have you noticed that the case acoustics for the k87 are surprisingly good? maybe this is because of the stacked tight acrylic or something but it's better than most other basic cases.

At the end I think everything falls down to preference because I can obviously say you are gateron fan XD Update: On your board it sound clack. On my board it sounds tock.
