I love flat/uniform keycaps, it gave us the freedom to place whichever caps to whatever position we want without worrying about the look, perfect for compact keyboards where the keys are quite limited. And since most compact boards (except the very cheap ones like the very recent CIY Tester84, Tester68, or other unrecognizeable brands) are available with softwares, those are a perfect combo. For example, the default keymaps of my Daxa M71 Classic doesn't have a dedicated Menu and a separate `~ key. Moreover, I almost never have any need to use the Pause Break and Insert key so it's a no brainer decision that I immediately replaced those two with the keys I mentioned before + moving the Home and End key to the 2nd rightmost side of the keyboard (the default mapping of Home and End key of this board are on the top-rightmost side of the board, above the Page Up and Page down keys). Sculpted keycaps like OEM, Cherry, SA, etc won't let me do that without looking so weird. Personally I won't go for sculpted caps anymore unless it's for either Fullsize and/or standard TKL boards.

Really good idea, I considered this heavily. If you have a little more to spend, get the BM60 RGB pcb from KPrepbulic with one of their kits. That'll set you back $85 with switches included. All you would need to do is get some keycaps on the cheap. Only downside is things take a while to ship from KPRepublic. THe main benefit of the bm60 pcb is that it is QMK/VIA enabled.
