Smoothie: Banana, Strawberry and Kale

One from the vaults. This was my very first smoothie. In all my years of cooking I never made, nor tasted, a smoothie. Intrigued, I wanted to try one. The flavor of this smoothie is excellent. And this is a good way to get some kale into your diet without having to actually taste it. I used my old blender (later donated to a charity thrift store). Now that I have a Vitamix my smoothies are less grainy.

hi, dennis - just wanted to let you know i’m thinking of you with your procedure scheduled for tomorrow. In my book, anything that requires anesthesia is a big deal - i can’t help you feel better, but i am “sending you friendly and kind thoughts”. From your blog it sounds like you’ve thought of everything - based on my one experience “nursing” a friend back to good health after the same procedure, you’re all set. He used the undergarments while sleeping to put his mind at ease which really helped him. May things go smoothly, and may you be home soon.

Thanks Nancy. About an hour ago I sat down with a neighbor who had the procedure about two weeks ago. He discussed his experience, symptoms, and side effects. He was very informative and helpful. He answered all my questions. And, he is a sewing machine technician; so he looked at my machines and taught me some new ways to keep them running well. Such a good neighbor and friend! Dennis cut the banana from the other end and you will eliminate banana string issues.

Thanks Eric. This is an old video, one I moved from SmoothieTube to here because ST never took off. I made the video before I had the straw (now I prefer to use the glass one) and I actually bought my Vitamix at Costco shortly after shooting this video. Physically, I'm not able to do much right now; so I'm shifting old videos or re-editing old ones that were never popular. -Dennis

Thanks for checking on me Nancy. Yes, I have some surgery scheduled for June 20th. It isn't anything serious like open heart surgery, but it needs to be done. I'm not comfortable blogging about it yet. Maybe after it's done and I'm back to normal again. I might even video a Kitchen Vlog about it. -Dennis

I watched a few videos. That bread looks really easy, which is important night now because I'm working through a medical condition that limits what I can do for a while. Nothing life threatening, and I'm under the care of a doctor; so "easy" is important right now. I'll put buttermilk on my shopping list. Thanks for the suggestion. -Dennis

You will be very pleased with a Vita-mix. I got one a few years back and they sent sent me a cook book and had a few good smoothies. They call for frozen fruits. Ice instead of water. And yes whole flax seeds 😆 🤣. Its a huge cost up front but well worth every penny. 👍❤💋✌🙏🇺🇸
